  1. Yeah it is a great place to get happy, unless you are working. Then its a great place to get a headache. Workers, you agree? (Certain days only, good days need not apply
  2. I think its better with the light on cause every turn there is a support less than 15 ft away. Brings a new meaning to "Keep your hands in the car at all times".
  3. Eh its alright. I still think that Anime is better drawn and better voice acting (if you can stand reading subtitles and listening to Japanese) than anything out of the states.
  4. Hey guys, How tall do you think COMBINED everything is at PKI? Even throwing in the flat rides and every building, do you think it will reach the moon? I dont know why I just thought of this, but Im bored and Im thinking *Hits head* STOP THINKING!
  5. You people want good cartoons that have a point to them? Watch InuYasha. Cartoon Network on a program called Adult Swim, 12:30AM. Right now I believe the episodes are half way through the season one episodes (the rest of the episodes are slowly being released out of Japan. I have about 160 at home) Or watch Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Ninja Cadets, Escaflowne, man the list can go on and on. Spongebob and Scooby annoy the living **** outta me because there cartoon have no plot. Sure, scooby has a plot show to show, but what is the overall goal? They tried it once with the 13 ghosts of Scooby Doo, but that was a flop now wasnt it? And Spongebob, the show itself is just utterly pointless. There is no show plot or a show-to-show plot. Its just "Lets watch and see how many stupid, pointless things a sponge that lives in a pineapple can do" Comeon people! I feel sorry for the teens who think this is the greatest show on the face of the Earth. Eventually someone needs to wake them up. Heres how bad I hate Spongebob: Every time I work on Action Theatre side A (spongebob side) and I have to watch the film, I lose 10 Brain Cells. Thats how bad I hate that sponge. PS. I still love Viacom and my park, I just hate Spongebob and Scooby. and does anyone remember G.I Joe, The ORIGONAL Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Ren and Stimpy? What happened to good cartoons on the TV?
  6. Uhhhh, yeah, side B, Memorial day weekend, riiiiiight. Actually I believe its sat is when it opens. Cant wait to see some faces when they hear what it is Oh and dont bug me about it, I know, and I will NOT tell anyone.
  7. There is a gate that blocks access to the upper deck. The upper deck is used for a place to mount security cameras. Trust me, I had to run cable up that thing today. My arms are killing me!
  8. Congrats on 1000 posts. Reasons he could have reached it: Good posting No life SPAMMING Which one is the winner?
  9. Good for that state. I personally hate HATE seeing guys with their pants so far low that their @$$ is hanging out. Comeon people, a community is supposed to help raise kids (yes, old school thinking, but true non-the-less) and what are kids going to think when the community lets this happen? Im also against people who let their kids grow up to government TV shows like Barney, Sesame Street, and the like. If you want to teach your kids, teach them by yourself, dont count on Uncle Sam teaching them for you.
  10. Haha Boobzilla. Why are you guys always ragging on one of the best maintenance crews out there? Ive always wondered that.
  11. Yeah, at least you didnt have to climb the lift after it rained.
  12. Yeah they actually do use them for theming. They are used to theme The Beast.
  13. Out of all the time I have spent in that building, I have yet to see the show. Now granted, it was renovating it. All the good stuff was done while PT was being upgraded. Those were some funny times.
  14. Famous last words for a Kentuckian: "Hey y'all, watch this!" I couldnt resist. But yeah, the second to last line is "Nick the treasure, and that will be that." Think about what is in the movie, does she dig for the treasure, no. She steals it. And nick is a British slang word. Therefor, being that the actor is reading in British, it would make sense.
  15. Someone mentioned they would feel better if a non-minor was operating TRTR. Someone might have pointed this out, but Im going to as well, just because its one in the morning and I dont feel like reading right now: The way TRTR is set up is that each person in the main ride chamber has a ride stop and an E-stop button. A ride stop will stop the motion of the ride and bring it back to the home posistion. An E-stop will cut all power to the ride. Now with this in mind, each operator has one of each button. The ride runs on a program that, if somehow it diverts from the program, the ride stops itself. The ride will not, under any circumstances, let you dispatch the ride with one bar with less than four (any backup I cant remember the number) clicks on the restraints. Once that happens, the ride will say it is ready to run. The ride requires four buttons pushed to start, one at both of the bar checkers posistions, and two in the drivebox. Again with these things in mind, how can anyone really screw it up? As long as you know your ride, you could be 16 or 60, it dont matter, you will feel/see the same thing. I say let minors work the rides. Gives them a good look at what the "real world" is like. Oh and for those who havent been following the Markey saga: Markey is out to make everything that is enjoyable in a park so restricted its stupid. He tried putting a bill through the congress about limiting the G-forces felt on the rides to 5 Gs. Funny how there are no coasters that really hit that G-force for more than a split second. Do a Google search on him. I bet it will bring up some really interesting things.
  16. You wont find anyone with copies of it anywhere. There is only one disk of those songs, and that disk is always in the CD player behind locked doors.
  17. Question: You say that Slime Time LIVE was the last kids show, but technically Meet the Nicktoons LIVE is a performance as well. Theres a parade of Nicktoons right before the meet and greet.
  18. Actually, all recordings for lifts and small flat rides are done in a recording studio in the tech service shop. Until this year, the head of tech service shop had the voice of the girl on DOT.

    Myths

Dont even get me started with myths.
  20. Ok, so let Tom be harsh. You call yourself a fan of PKI, but you say that something is a pile of junk!? That is both disrespectful to the park, to the people who maintain it (me, my crew, and the wood coaster division), and to this site. Plus, Im sure that those who run the ride sure love it when you just come out and say SOBs a pile of junk. Why dont you think about those who do give it TLC on a daily basis, and hold your tongue. Im glad your done with it for a season. It is one of my all time favorite woodies. Go find another hyper-looping woodie to ride. Now that Im done, heres a fact for ya Coaster, You say it cant be cheap to retrack SOB every year? Then how come its routine to retrack all wooden coasters every year? If you ever notice, Beast is always retracked, both sides of Racer, SOB, and Beastie. Its called preventative maintenance. They just take sections of the track, tear the track apart, and replace it. Next offseason, they start at the last part retracked, and start retracking. The process keeps repeating until its taken out.
  21. Hey Andy, Dont feel bad about not getting recognition. Noone in the parks GP even knows that theres a tech service crew except for the ones on these boards. Oh well, guess you cant win em all. PS. Those flags were from last season. Some crews took them home for keepsakes, others wire-tied them from the rafters and now they are stuck (SOB!!!!! Tiny, chew Drew out on that one!)
  22. I can tell you that things arent as spaced out as they used to be, and that Taz is huge! Its a lot closer than it looks (remember, big objects look big and small objects look tiny from far away) so the look from Western Row is kinda skewed. I wont say that each slide is butting up against each other, but it seems to be nicely spread out.
  23. Just so you know: In the origonal FearFest, with the house on top of Tower they wanted to put some plexiglass on the floor, but it was deemed too scary (if anyone remembers this house it was the 18+ only house. This was a rumor I heard, dont know how true it is) When a storm does blow up, PKI evacs the ride when the lightening is about 15-20 miles away. Someone who works on Tower could give you a better number, but thats what I know.
  24. Yeah, I was working Beast that night. That storm was just really bad. It was cool to sit in Beasts station, completely empty, and just chill with friends. And those guys who came running up were working Scooters (eagles) and had capasity, not what time the fireworks were going up.
  25. It was too easy a day. I sat around watching rides all day thinking "I could be riding them, but IM GETTIN PAID!"
