I can tell ya that they are not in TRTR. Although that would be fitting, being a tomb and all. I would think that they are in the haunted houses somewhere. Probabily Curse of the Crypt, but I dont like haunted houses. So I wouldnt know.

PKI has a competition for young aspiring designers, but I think its for middle school students. I dont think they use the designs though. Overall, bad idea. By the time that PKI releases that they are letting the public design the ride, pick one, send it in to Arrow, or B&M, it would have to be told at least 3 years in advance. Especially since the coasters nowadays take 18 months from conception to opening.

I can see PKI just letting it happen. Theres really nothing you can do for a park that size. What Im more worried about it Boomerang Bay. How many do you think it would take to clog a filter? The rest of the rides Im not concerned with at all. If one gets smashed on Drop Zone, there are what, 5 more brake surfaces? Plus, with all the movement, I doubt the bugs will bother PKI. The Beast though, well, lets hope that woods nice and treated!

I heard that PKI wanted to put a plexiglass floor on where one of the tiles is on tower, but it was deemed "too scary". The Fearfest that tower was a house was I believe 3 years ago. The reason I recall this is because I wasnt working at the park yet, and we were talking about possibilities for Fearfest on tower my first year. We was bored.

I will send the link to him and see his reaction. Or I will just catch him up at the park. Did anyone else catch him in the vampire outfit on Sat? That was good lookin`

I personally ran SOB while Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Larkin were on it last season. Nothin special. Except Jr rode in 63 right after his knee surgury, and Larkin wussed out! hot+dry=rough cold+wet=smooth sub32+wet=icy smooth:) PS. Just remember about superstars: they are normal people with talent. The difference between them and us is that they exploit their talents for money.

The bottom half of the tower is lit with black lights.

Sat was a little packed, but I was also at TRTR, the very LAST stop of Fearfest. WE had about a half hour line all night. Sun, tho, I went to Fearfest, and I am not one for haunted houses (yeah, Im a chicken. I have jumpy nerves as is!), I rode the rides. I didnt go to Action Zone for any of those rides, but Coney and R-town side was deserted. We walked onto Vortex, TRTR, Beast, and FOF. The greeters for the houses were saying no lines as well.

someone should talk to jeff about playing it for feedback. Just to see what he says.

Last year wasnt too bad, or did all the long lines on SOB and the dirty people down in the valley just blend together? Probabily is overpowered by the 3 hours of cleaning we had to do on BAFFD. Cups stacked 4 ft. high. That was bad. I just ignored them for the most part.

Well, just think, you have to pay for EVERYONES salary who is working that day, you have to pay for maintenance on the rides, and any other services the park offers. Thats a lot of money already, and Im sure I missed something. I love buyout days. Of course, working greeter at TR, we still get the same questions. The best day I worked (and I thought it was wierd) was Pride Night. Not one single complaint, and those who we had to turn away from TR were not upset. They actually just kinda said, ok, we will check back later. It was great.

Just remember: The park is for families, not for making families. Some of us employees get a little, oh whats the word, jealous? at those people ::kicks ground, grumbles "why cant I find a g/f?"::

sobrider, You are famous at PKI. Everytime youre in the park, even if its over at Georges ride, SOB, I hear about it.

Im so glad I switched to TRTR this year: no more cold! Employees: I think that the park should at least offer winter clothes for us at wardrobe. Its getting really dang cold, and while I am appreciative for the windbreaker and the fleece, they need winter jackets! Pre-post season is miserable, especially down at Congo Falls. Anyone else agree with me?

It couldnt have been SOB for one simple reason: its a racheting lapbar. The only way to undo the bars (besides the pedal in the back) is to go under the cars, hit the release mechanism. Oh and next time, do bring it up to the employees. Thats a really good idea.
-
I dont think that PKI can do that because half the lot is used as a park and ride for Metro.

Well, next year I will be moving to tech services (if it works out), but rides operations will always be my home away from home. I knew a couple of people on my crew going into this season, but those I didnt know I bonded to real quick. It hurts when certain circumstances make you lose a brother, especially one that was a very hard worker, a new person, and best friend. But those who are left, they are even more special to you from the experience. I have a feeling that my crew and I this year will be talking to each other for a long time to come.

Ummmm, to the cave is only 30 minutes. We run about 7 1/2 min cycles. ROUGHLY. Whoever told you that must have thought you were asking how long the line was. Or we were only running a limited number of rows.

Family above all else. I have yet to find a parent who doesnt have that outlook. One of the great things about fatherhood. Ive felt it too, Chef. My sister had 3 kids, and the dad ran off. I basically was their dad. Trust me, its one of the greatest feelings that you can have. Even if they arent yours.

I was walking back to my car to get some food (so Im poor, look where I work!) and I thought, "Man, its cold. Wonder what temperature it is?" and looked for the sign. It was sad. Just so you know, the TR crew gave our "fallen comrade" a memorial service of a run of antechamber, preshow, and the ride (all empty) and a moment of silence. Its was so beautiful, I started tearing up.

We would if in our contract wasnt a confidentiality clause. If the winds are strong enough, Im sure that SOB would close. Its really not just how strong the wind is, but what direction. If its blowing through the station, sideways to the entrance to the helixes, it would be fine.

The sad part is that it is specifically written in the bylaws of ACE that you MUST follow all park rules at ALL times. Seems to me that ACE needs to rethink whom should be renewed or not.

Delirium is probabily one of my favorite rides in the park. As for the line, I have seen the entire queue full, and its about 30-45 minutes tops. Part of that, though, is that the crew rocks (GO SPARKY!!!!) Its worth the wait, especially if your little niece is watching you from the midway, and turns her back when it starts! That was priceless.

It was very, VERY reliable this year. I was surprised. Rickster, all I gatta say are monday and tuesdays. Go up then, and the line is about halved.
