  1. I'm not old enough to remember Old Coney, but from the pictures and video's i've seen they buried them all. My first time going to Cedar Point was in 97, almost went there once as a kid in the mid 80's I regret that we canceled that trip, as much as I like it now, I would have loved to experienced the old park, much like I did with KI in the early 80's
  2. JMO but I thought the park was much prettier in the 80's, but I can't lay all the blame on Paramount's I don't think the Linder group did wonders for it either. I will say the one thing I liked about Paramount's was the Gold Pass, much better benefits than CP's Cool Joe Club, I'm not sure whether that was at KI before Paramount's (as my 1st season pass was in the mid 90's) but I'm guessing not.
  3. Nothing wrong with looking more like Cedar Point, imo Cedar Point is much nicer looking as far as landscape and cleanliness goes than KI in the last decade, could we get a big lake to add to it I'm sure CF will do a much better job with landscaping then Paramounts, bring KI back to the beautiful park it used to be.
  4. I agree with the poster especially on reaching out to more ages, one of the things I love about Cedar Point is my parents can come and have things to do such as the sky ride, an awesome train (not just transportation to the waterpark), the paddle boat ride, a nice indoor dining experience, the spiral tower and oh yeah NICE SHOPS, I would love to see things go this way at Kings Island, Have a nice variety for all ages, and a state of the art coaster would be nice at some point too

The same reason 321-seat isn't ticket scalping, whether it's scalping is determined by who's doing it not the pratice. Personally I have nothing against scalping or Gambling games, it's all entertainment.
  6. Amen
  7. so do I, the original one that is before the smurfs took over, but even the smurfs look good now! ("I'll get you smurfs")
  8. I must have not eaten there that year Wish they would do it again, I love those things
  9. Then I couldn't complain about ki food choices anymore
  10. I want a full service restaurant Or how about selling calzones at Larosas that would be awesome
  11. thanks for the link
  12. exactly!
  13. I used to love water rides back in the day where it wasn't a requirement to get drenched. On the log flume you might get a little wet but now everything has to get you soaking wet and I really don't want to walk around for the next hour with drenched clothes. They go out of there way now to make sure you get wet, I must be in the minority because that's the way things keep going but I say bring back the log flume, bring back gulliver's travel, bring back the enchanted voyage, I use to love those old water rides. Does anyone agree?
  14. Adventure Express an intensity rating of 5 how about 1 don't get me wrong i enjoy riding it like all coasters, but there is nothing intense about (well those guys in the cave are pretty scary
  15. Nothing would be bigger for me than some nice eating changes, hoping for a nice eat in place.
  16. Cedar Point has nice places to eat with little markup of normal nice eateries, I can eat for 7 bucks at sit in get waited on restaurant, fish sandwich, steak hoagie that are great, I'd like to see places like Cedar Point's Macaroni's or Game Day Sports restaurant.
  17. Haven't heard anything lately.
  18. I'm not a really big show person, so I think it probably won't be worth the price for me, I just kinda like to walk around amusement parks and enjoy the the rides (and they don't have to be wild) and atmosphere, don't really care for sitting down and watching alot of shows, I think if it were 39 to 40 dollars I think we'd all go and enjoy it I just find that a little to steep, sounds like the place is more show oriented and I guess that explains the higher prices probably good shows but I just wanna basically walk around so that's probably going to be too much for everybody, but thanks for the input, I do wanna go back sometime, when I'm not with so many family members, but this probably won't be the time.
  19. I remember blazing fury that was pretty cool, I thought that bridge was going to hit me I'm considering it, I don't mind it being adult themed, I like milder stuff too, but I guess there is many places down their to go and buy crafts and eat great food without that kind of entrance fee, I don't know I'd almost go myself, but I think i'll have a hard time convincing the rest of my clan (parents, sisters) to pay the price, Too bad I don't have a time machine, but then I think I would opt for Magic World but thanks for the info.
  20. I went to this park on my annual trip to Gatlinburg in the mid 90's and it cost a little over 20 dollars to get in, 25 tops, I was thinking about visiting it this year. I checked their website and it cost I think 48 dollars to get in, I thought wow! I looked at the map and their doesn't seem to be that much stuff their for that price, I mean that's higher than Cedar Point, ki, or any parks i've ever been to and it doesn't seem like there is much there, and they give a big senior discount of 3 bucks, like my parents in their 60's wanna pay 45 bucks to walk around and watch their kids and grandkids, I would have liked to visit the park again, but that is way overpriced. Anyone been there recently, is it close to being worth it?
  21. Paramount did one good thing, sell the park
  22. can you scan the rest of the map?
  23. I'd like to get my hands on a map from somewhere around 82 or 83 and take it to the park with me so I can see exactly where rides i remember as a kid were located.
  24. Oh don't worry I'll do it, It'll just probably scare the crap out of me, no coaster has yet, but none has made me stare stright down.
  25. 1) a real restaurant 2) bring back some vintage rides (such as antique cars, flying scooters, skyride, ect....) but a 200 ft coaster would be great too!
