  1. Probably my last trip to the point till September As customary for me I started things off by eating at East of Chicago Pizza on the causeway. Man I wish they would locate to Cincinnati, they are the best. Got to the Breakers but my hotel room wasn't going to be ready till 4. When I finally got it, I found that reviews online about the Bon Air section were way over done, the room was fine with the exception that the room was too narrow to layout my air matress which I prefer to hotel beds. The room had a nice view of the beach and lake, and it had to be the closest section to the Magnum entrance to the park. Started off by riding the Witches Wheel aka Skylab, I love that ride, how I wish it was still at Kings Island. Only managed to ride the Maverick once, but it is a great ride, nice and fast, and it really does bang you around. The first day it was crowded and I didn't get to ride too much till the last hour but then I made up for it. In the final hour I got to ride the Corkscrew, The Magnum and The Mean Streak 3 times, that was a great hour. The next day I got to take full advantage of early entry with my Joe Cool Club. The entrance by the Magnum was so packed I might have spent my whole hour waiting in line to get into the park with the Maverick seekers so I ran all the way down the peninsula to the entrance by the viking ship. Then got to ride my favorite coaster of all time millenium force 3 times. In the last hour of the day I rode Wicked Twister in the 2nd seat that is awesome, and then came the Raptor, Got to ride in the front seat without waiting for it, but then the tragedy came. Apparently my cell phone wasn't secured enough and I lost it on my front seat tour , ouch never recovered it and had to replace it when I got home, but I was able to transfer my prepaid minutes to the new phone. The thing that always stands out at Cedar Point for me is the great indoor eating choices I get, I ate at Macaroni's and Game Day Sports and Breakwater Cafe. Overall it was a great trip, staying at the Breakers is the only way to fly.
  2. I just hope this doesn't result in detectors at all the entrances, we can't let these weirdos cause our lives to be inconvenienced. If we do we let weirdos rule the world.
  3. TTD is an incredible ride, but it will never rank as one of my favorites it is just too quick, 20 seconds and it's over, I expect to like maverick better when I ride it Sunday, purely because it's longer. The thing for me about the dragster is, it goes so fast (and it has to to make it up I know) but it goes so fast you can't appreciate just how high you are, that's why millenium is still king for me, nothing like going up that hill looking around and taking it all in while waiting for the plunge.
  4. I'm headed up Sunday, Looks like I picked a good time, Glad they caught the guy quick or we would probably see more of this.
  5. Thanks for the info, yeah I didn't expect it to be new and state of the art, I was just concerned about that smell issue, but it sounds like people were just exagerating. Thanks for the info, if things are that bad I'll spend some more and get a better room. One of the reasons I picked it was because it had a lake view without being over 300 a night. I think it'll end up being just fine. Thanks again
  6. The thing that concerns me the most is smell, I don't care about anything else does smell really bad and musty? Thanks
  7. I have a reservation for a non smoking view room in the Bon Air Wing of the breakers. Is it really as bad as the reviews i've been reading online. About the worst reviews I've ever seen for a hotel calling it disgusting and smelly and uncomfortable. Is it really that bad? I'm not that picky but if it smells as bad as some say maybe it's a bad idea. Any feedback appreciated.
  8. I don't think I've ever been stuck on a ride, but did anyone ever see that footage of the time top thrill dragster was stucky on the top perfectly balanced with people on it, now that would freak me out, yikes!
  9. I received an initial response from Cedar Fair Marketing that reads as follows: We are in receipt of your letter regarding the Maxx Pass and the parking pass. We are forwarding it to our Corporate Marketing department for review and response. Thank you for your interest in Cedar Fair. Sincerely, Laurie Sutter Cedar Fair Entertainment Company We'll see if I get anymore correspondence.
  10. HEY!!! Watch it, pal!!! You can ask for another slice if it is too cold, you know. vvvv I probably should've you're right, last time I ate at the festhaus the pizza was pretty cold
  11. Yeah, I do remember being in Macaroni's last month and did get a soft drink and it was higher than I expected, but generally I try to get water and run back to my hotel when I need a drink. The great thing about how close the Breakers is, so I wasn't even thinking about drinks, but the food value I think is so much greater.
  12. Also a Sunday in October, Yes it is a great little park, I never miss a chance to go up there, great old time amusement park atmosphere. I think there going to have at least one new ride this year. I think it's the rainbow from Americana aka (super roundup at Coney Island) not my favorite ride but never the less always nice to see a new ride, but the best part about going there is getting a chance to ride the flying scooters since they were senslesly removed from Kings Island.
  13. I don't know what Cedar Fair has done with Kings Island as far as food and drinks go, I have not eaten yet this year at KI, But I always thought Cedar Point had much better value for your dollar than KI, one of my biggest complaints, no my biggest complaint over the years about KI has been their food choices, ever since the international rest. has left they have been not very good and high priced. I can get a nice sit down hot prepared meal at cp for the price of a couple cold slices of pizza at KI. I'm hoping we will see changes in that department at KI.
  14. Don't forget Stricker's Grove is for renting out to parties and companies
  15. While I don't bring enough luggage to fly to Europe, I have no problem with people whom have to bring some forms of luggage. If someone desires not to wait for that person to go through don't wait in that line behind that person, find a line with somebody whom has less luggage. We actually have a baby and unless you want to see a mess we have to bring a diaper bag with plenty of diapers and baby wipes. My wife also has to bring in her bag with her medication. When we bring this in and put it in a locker, it creates less trips in and out of the park. I have seen some people come in with much much more stuff than we do and some of it is just plain senseless. I also offer out of the fact of being nice to anyone standing behind us with no items to go ahead of us so that they don't have to wait behind us while we get our bags checked. Are these metal detectors really neccessary, I mean Cedar Point doesn't have them, but I guess a park in Cincinnati, is much more dangerous than a park in Sandusky
  16. That's a half-truth. Rock has origins in rockabilly, which is a precursor to modern country. very true, I wasn't really referring to modern country, rockabilly was great.
  17. The key word here is Rock, Rock has become slang for Pop These days. And I would agree country is in that category. Rock N Roll is different. Of course all the vintage Classic Rock and Roll has quite a bit of country influence in it, but much different. JMO
  18. If they are going to do this, they should make it on specific dates only, so us season pass holders can know what crowded days to stay away.
  19. Gee you think I would've noticed that being that I started that thread, I guess I was so frustrated with the parking thing I didn't pay attention
  20. Actually I was hoping we'd get Dominator instead of XFlight, I love those suspended roller coasters Kings Island really needs one, and I don't count Face Off There just isn't much to that, it's kind of a modern day Sreamin' Demon While I've never been to GL I thought that ride looked like the Raptor, I'm sure nowhere as good but I love those type of suspended coasters.
  21. Too much Country, not enough Rock 'n' Roll, I'll pass
  22. I don't mind the hand stamping I just want to be able to use my card for the parking multiple times a day, hopefully I can.
