There not giving the bring a friend discount on the 29th 30th and 31st are they? is it just fri thru sun

Cedar Point is The Best. I like traditional old amusement parks. I'm hoping next year to get to visit the old parks in PA.
-
Yes I had the same kind of issue bought a Cedar Point pass and ki parking pass, it was an ordeal but I didn't have as much trouble as you did. I fired off emails to Cedar Fair and I have to say I think they were making strides with good intentions to fix any bad customer relations with the free parking next year promotion, I give 'em props for that, but the friend discount ordeal the way they advertise it one was and it's different when you get there could undo some of the good will from the free parking.
-
Ok let me get this straight, it's fraud for me to give a free ticket to a friend that is a perk for buying a new season pass, a ticket that I can't use because I have a pass this year yet It is not fraud for Kings Island to advertise that if I buy the pass I can get up to 6 people in for the discounted price and they refuse to give more than 1 when it never stated anywhere in their advertisement that you couldn't use more than one on the same day. It's ok for KI to commit fraud just not the customers
-
I guess what they meant buy up to 6 is 1 friday sat and sunday this week and one fri sat and sun next week one per visit for a total of six, but if this is the case this was not mentioned in the advertisement anywhere, and lots of people could show up to the park with 6 friends and 5 of them would have to pay full price and at that point it would be too late for the online discount, very bad way of doing things here.

I think it is ridiculous that they send me an advertisement saying I can get up to 6 at the discounted price but will only give one, isn't that false advertising?

I'm not a big fan of python, probably because the cars are so small I can't ride it without bumping my knees pretty good. I agree something like Tornado would do wonders for Coney, but that probably won't happen.
-
Not being old enough to have visited Coney before Kings Island was built I always wandered where exactly the midway started, today there really isn't a midway, just different areas. I've always been curious where exactly the old midway was (probably ending somewhere in riverbend) I don't think there are any park maps in existence of old Coney is there?

Glad to see the Coney site, I hope eventually we can get some vintage old photos of old coney, that would be awesome!

I was at the first halloweekend Saturday this year and I also waited in line over an hour for the corkscrew, that was just nuts!

I stumbled on this 1958 footage of turnpike cars from Coney Island, very interesting it is near the bottom of the page, also footage of fantasy farm. http://fantasyfarm.org/Defunct%20Amusement...movie_index.htm

Indeed RIP Mr. Sticker, your memory lives on

After all these years Magnum is still constantly ranked very very high, it is awesome, I think I have to make The force my favourite but magnum is a close close second, and the line is usually pretty short. One of the really awesome things about magnum is it is a sky scraper at 200 feet tall yet it has the old chain system that pulls you really slow up that huge hill, not to mention the view of the lake, the new coasters as awesome and high as they are go up the hill too fast to really take it in, I love that slow climb and I love that 2nd hill almost as tall as the first one.

HH at Kings Island isn't usually anywhere near as crowded imo as Halloweekends at CP. In recent years that has been crazy with crowds, probably their busiest time all year. Last year on one day they were actually parking on the causeway it was so crowded, and this year I had to wait in line for the corkscrew for over an hour, yikes!!! thats like waiting over an hour to ride Adventure Express. It is always walk on. I don't expect it will be that bad when you come to KI especially if you go on Friday or Sunday.

Yeah I missed Strickers Grove For the first open to the public date in 4 years as I was out of town. Brings back memories of Kings Island when I was a kid, I usually squish into the kiddie whip, the kiddie turtle (tumble bug) and my only chance now a days to ride the flying scooters. They have the best desserts for reasonable prices, not to mention the free soft drinks, I do miss the steak burgers that they use to have, now they just have the regular burgers but they are good. I don't know if you sat in the back seat on the tornado or not but you really fly out of your seat on that hill if you get in the back. Last year they sent the train through 3 times without us having to get off because of the short line that was awesome. I love going to that park very old fashioned, reminds you of a park out of the past when there use to be little amusement parks in just about every town, always a lot of fun.

I wonder if Halloween Haunt admission for 2008 will be free if you buy a 2009 Season Pass when HH starts, Maybe to get people to by passes early they will be including HH with the following years season pass instead of the current one, just a thought.

man wouldn't I love to ride that zodiac

I know the Flying Dutchman is at Kentucky kingdom and the wheel of fortune is at Delgrossos in PA, Does anyone no of any other current locations of past rides?
-
that would be great for me next year, October is one of my favourite times to go I don't care much for the brutal summer heat

raptor replied to raptor's topic in Kings Island
I just went there a lot as a kid during those years and want to see exactly what the park looked like at that time, sentimental -
It may not excite a lot of thrill seekers to get a few classic vintage rides back like the antique cars and the scooters but it certainly can increase the amount of middle aged people (parents and grandparents) going to the park. There just isn't much for them to do. They basically have rides for little kids and rides for thrill seekers. I know when I go to Cedar Point my parents who are in their 60's love to go because they can ride the antique cars, the calypso, the paddleboat excursion, the sky ride, the ferris wheel and others, they never come with us to Kings Island because there is very little they can ride. I think their could be a significant increase in older guest coming to the park with the addition of a couple of vintage mild adult rides. And personally I like to have a good mixture, I love the wild coasters but then I like to take a break and ride a nice mild ride and relax, but they are getting less and less all the time at Kings Island. There is nothing like being at Cedar Point and riding the Raptor, the force and the mangnum then relaxing with a nice ride on the sky ride.

It wouldn't suprise me at some point if Cedar Fair sells all the paramount parks but keeps Kings Island, the closeness yet farness of the 2 parks makes it good business to own both parks
-
I doubt the crowds will be down with all the free tickets and discounted tickets going out to 2008 season pass purchasers.
