The antique cars, I like to have a nice leisurely ride in between coasters to relax, something that is now lacking at KI
  2. 12 times, the brutal heat all year long kept me back, 7 of the 12 times was in October when the weather was finally descent

  6. The Beast for the adults and The Beastie for the kids, imo this has much more charm than changing the name
  7. The flooding was a problem, but I think the biggest thing was probably lack of sufficient parking to handle the crowds
  8. I miss the Crazy Daisy
  9. Well I can't throw stones, I've been watching my Kings Island/Cedar Point Home Video's, Can't wait, I hate Winter!
  10. why not just change it to "Waterpark Transport" that's all it is anymore I wonder what made them change the name? At Cedar Point it's called "Cedar Point & LAKE ERIE RAILROAD", why would Cedar Fair chage KI's?

  14. Yeah, great move, did Paramount's advise them on that and say "hey, why don't you take down a classic ride and replace it with a gift shop or a basketball game"
  15. The 1972 park map at: Kings Island 1972 Map gives the illusion of the Inn being right outside the front gate but I suppose it was really across the street
  16. Looking at the old maps it seemed to be in a much better location than the great wolf lodge, is that area now part of the park or is it unused?
  17. Yes I wish the Enchanted Voyage was still here, that ride was a fun ride for adults as well as kids, I also loved the prisoners mine at Dollywood that was removed about 12 years ago and I believe replaced with nothing, very similar, I loved that ride, I think they still have it at Silver Dollar City in Branson
  18. Bring back The Beastie and dump Fairly Odd Coaster!!!
  19. I have to admit that one of the first things I flock to when I get to Stricker's Grove is the Kiddie Whip, dreaming of getting a chance to ride a big one again, which between the big whip and tumble bug was the original inspiration for me planning a trip to Kennywood this summer
  20. Indeed this 1997 map of Americana shows the whip, this must have been it, and my mom must have been right about me going there, although I have no memory of the place other than riding the whip that thinking back I thought was Kings Island, looks like a cool park, I wish I had visited it more, but I never really realized it was still there till after it closed. http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/maps/1997/am1997.html
  21. It must have been Americana aka Lesourdsville, My mother told me they took my sister and myself there when I was very young, but I have absolutely no memory of going there, but I have a very distinct memory of riding a full size whip and loving it when I was pretty young and other than this trip to Americana that my mom says I went to, I visited no other amusement parks as a kid other than Kings Island, well that and Magic World In Pigeon Forge So even though I have no memory of going to Americana, this very distinct memory of riding a full size whip must have been from there and remembering this later, I would have assumed it was Kings Island I noticed that they did have a whip and I assume it was still there in the early 80's
  22. Was there ever a full size whip at Kings Island? I could swear I remember riding one as a kid in the early 80's, but my research shows no evidence that it ever existed
  23. yeah! I'm really excited about visiting it this summer
  24. Interesting about Knoebel's they won second place behind Cedar Point in the Golden Ticket award
  25. If Conneaut Lake ends up selling it's rides, I would love to see their tumblebug at strickers groove, but I hope Conneaut Lake can make it, but no likely
