well idlewild will just be a couple hour after thought on the way home, but after looking at the ride list I'm quite excited about Knoebel's, A Carousel with a brass ring, hard to find one of those
-
Knoebel's does look like quite a gem, I may decide to go there instead of Hershey

Oil Today Closed at $101.01

There will never be an alternative fuel, the government makes too much money off of taxes, and the only kind of alternative fuel they would except is one that they would be certain people couldn't make on their own avoiding taxes -
They better keep the crow At least it's a family owned company, that might help, I've never been there before but am planning to go either this summer or next
-
thanks for the information

How about the tallest coaster over 1 minute in length, which is what I go for, they don't do as much for me when there only a half of a minute, I think the Force is 2nd in this category, seems like they opened one in Japan that was taller over a minute
-
just curious, what kind of lines can you expect at Kennywood, do you have to wait long to get on the rides? how about hershey park?
-
thanks for the info

I hope I can get the discount, I also considered stopping by Lakemont park but I noticed they seem to be closed on Monday's which is when I would be there, also considered a swing by Delegroso's (or however you spell it), but didn't see anything to exciting there other than a chance to ride Casino which I believe is the wheel of fortune from Kings Island, ah the memories The route I planned back from Bedford which is the half way point between pitsburgh and hershey that i'll be staying is state route 30 this goes straight through the middle of Ligonier have you ever been on us 30 up there is it a slow road?

I looked into the possibility of Knoebel's, but I think it probably will be too far, i'm packing it all into a 2 night stay, going to Kennywood the first day then driving 2 hours to a hotel half way between there and Hershey, going to Hershey on the 2nd day and possibly stopping at Idlewild for a half day on the way home, I love old parks, and I'd like to stop there, but it may be a hard sell to the rest of my party (no kids) at that price, I was hoping I could get a discount by going to both parks I really want to ride the catepillar Thanks for the input

Would you be upset if they turn the backwards racer around

Has anyone ever seen "Relive the Magic?"

I recorded it but it's been a long time since I watched it -
Has anyone been to Idlewild, what do you think, I'm planning a trip to Pennsylvania this summer and I'm going to Kennywood and HerseyPark, and was considering Idlewild, but I thought the price sounded high for what they seem to have at about 26 dollars, but it's an old park with a couple classics like the catipillar and paratrooper, but I was wandering is this park worth the price of admission, any thoughts?

Yes, every pizza I had at Larosas last year was cold

I just found out about Indiana Beach, and I think it looks awesome, I'm planning on going sometime this summer

Eatery???? They have eateries at KI? Oh, you mean stands where you buy food and have to sit at a picnic bench, or that old school cafeteria better known as the festhaus
-
Cedar Fair, probably really want to make this changes so they can close one side if it's not crowded
-
I know this has been harped on time and time again, but Kings Island really needs some non wild adult rides, one of my favorite things about Cedar Point is taking a break from the wild rides and relaxing on things like the sky ride, or antique cars or the ferris wheel or paddle wheel excursion, or the train (ki train to me has never been the same since it became a transport to the waterpark), Lots of great thrill rides, but I would like to see more leisure rides
-
I'm glad to hear that HH will be free, I don't really care that much about the hh activities but October is my favorite time of year weather wise to go to the park, I probably went to KI in October more than the rest of the year due to the brutal heat all summer and since the park is for all pracitical purposes closed in September, as somebody who loves amusement parks but hates 90 degree weather October is a must

This is a very familiar story. in the late 80's/early 90's my sister took me to the park to ride adult roller coasters for the very first time, the first ride she took me on was the backward racer, ever since it has been my favorite wooden coaster, I probably ride it well over 50 times a year, it is my favorite ride at the park, it usually is the first thing I ride when I get there, and the last thing I ride before I leave, this wold be a major blow for me, I would be totally depressed, much like my mother was depressed when they took out the tumblebug many years ago.

Cedar Point sticks with Snoopy
raptor replied to UncleHenry's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm not sure where the United States of Mexico thing came from either? Kinda way off in left field? Not a slam on Hispanics, just a slam on what little i've seen of those cartoons being geared towards amerincan kids i'm not sure if i heard more english or spanish, I have hispanic friends and certainly meant no offense to them, appologies -

The real tragedy as far as i'm concerned is the eliminating of Macaroni's a nice indoor restaurant in favor of a practically kids only restaurant -

May I be the first (and maybe the last on this board) to say whew! Thank God! Kudos to Cedar Point for staying with the classic Peanuts and not going with Nick (aka the united states of mexico network) Cedar Point being an old time classic park should have something classic, rather than the latest fad. Not to mention how many parks have nick? I'd rather have something more unique to cp than copying other parks. Plus it's good to have something that appeals to all ages, you know while the kids are on the rides the parents and grandparents are soaking up the atmosphere and I don't think too many of those care about something as juvenile as nick educational programming, Snoopy is something that can have a much broader appeal not just the 5 year olds. Snoopy is classic, nick goes from one passing fad to the next. Nick = The Back Street Boys Snoopy = The Beatles I know I don't have the more popular view and will probably get ripped but hey opinions make the world go round
