Zippo lighters are very collectable, no matter where they are from. My good friend from school has an engraved zippo lighter from his near 30 years he had spent in the 5th Special Forces Group. They are very popular among all soldiers in special forces because they are very durable and will light almost under all conditions.

I miss the original theming that Top Gun had. You were made to feel like you were on the aircraft carrier with the billboard size picture of the USS Enterprise going full speed on the ocean and the music playing from the movie. Throughout the park, you would have characters walking in the park as Federation officers and Klingons from Star Trek. Their costumes and make up looked like they were from the movies and the Klingons must had been taught how to speak in Klingon. The park had an exhibit of items from the Star Trek movies and TV series. They also had a very large scale model of the USS Enterprise starship hanging in the Paramount Story area. The park was alive with everything regarding Paramount movies.

When we used to walk around the park at 3 or 4 am while working the night shift, we did not run into any undead ghosts but instead would see the various ferrel cats or the occasional skunks or raccoons.

It is almost certain that some sort of a roller coast would replace SOB sometime in the near future and with the park keeping the old SOB station to use during Haunt, they will need some place for a new station for any new ride or access to it. The park might be making plans to include all of AZ in their plans to make the area better. This would include removing the water tower, if indeed it is being considered. Who knows what the future might hold for that area.

1973 was the second year working at the park as a litter getter and I remember how the park looked back then. Those pictures looked really good and how uncluttered the park was back then. But then again, it was brand new and not developed like it is today. The park has lots of pictures of how the park looked back then in the operations building, along with pictures of how the employees were outfitted that worked in the various areas. I was a young guy of 18 back then and I still had a full head of red hair on my now bald head. Great job on the pictures and look forward to any others that you might have.

When the park first opened, it was the Bier Garden, where they served German food and beer in the back patio area, which as long since gone. It also had a sea theme as if it was on the dock at the pier on the coast. I would love to see the park restore the German theme as it used to be. Being I am a German/American, it would be really nice. If you remember the Black Forest German restaurant down on Reading Road, south of Mason, it served good German food and beer.

Some of the "unused" space is taken up by the park's landscaping department where they also have an enclosed green house where they grow and keep their plants that they grow for use in the park. They used to have their own waste water treatment plant unless they now use the county's treatment plant.

Maybe it can be just like that restaurant that Fred and the family went to and they can serve dino burgers and those ribs Fred ordered.

It sounds just like the brakes on your car when the brake pads have to much wear on them. They vibrate and it is telling you it is time to replace them. If you start to hear a metal on metal grinding noise, them they have worn all the way to the metal and it is saying to replace me NOW or you will have a much larger repair to worry about.

That goat is almost as cute as the guest in the 90's that brought their pet goat and dog to the pet care and placed them in the same cage. They were the best of friends! But that pot belly pig a guest brought made a pig of himself and drooled everywhere.

We did have goats, pigs, and of course ducks! Believe me, it did smell like a barn! Do you remember a few years ago they had the goats and pigs during one of the haunt attractions? It stunk and they were kept in the pet care and it really stunk! All those pigs all day long would eat and do what pigs do best. What goes in MUST come out. This past season, we had Ed's ducks and they really quacked the place up! But yes, it would smell like a barn and who would clean up after them? The people that provided the animals or some lucky Kings Island employee? Like BB! said, it would be a baaad ideal and it is not what it is quacked up to be.

Kings Island had posted on their FB page that the processing center will be open starting in April with dates and times to be announced later on their web site.

I keep a copy of Webster's New World Speller Divider, which is based on the Webster's New World Dictionary on my desk, right next to my keyboard. It has followed me throughout my days while in college and has been handy as I prepared my cover letters and resumes. Proper English should be used, in both written and its spoken form, in our everyday lives and not just for school papers. You never know when the need will arise that requires you to compose a resume and cover letter in your search for that job or while at your job, a written report in a meeting or in response to your supervisor's request during a meeting. Or in forums like this in which you either respond or create a message thread on a topic that you care about. You want to read something that is easy on the eyes and is written properly. If it is not, then you will just bypass it and go on to another topic. I have found some people's written responses on other forums (not this site) that were so poorly written that you could not even read it. They have lots of misspelled words, all in caps, errors in grammar, run on sentences, and so forth. Attempting to even read those responses would give you a headache. The sad thing about these examples is they were written by adults and not by kids in middle or high school.

The money would only be saved if you indeed saved it and not spend it elsewhere.

There is a good go-cart place at the Sharon Road exit off of I-275 across from Princeton HIgh School, unless it has closed.

I've been placed in the dog house.

Besides having the largest collection of junk cell phones, I have seen false teeth.

As a long time employee of Kings Island, I feel the loss of one of our own. I have met lots of people while working at Kings Island and we get to be part of a big family. It was indeed very sad to hear it was one of our own that died in that awful accident. May she find the joy and ever lasting life in the presence of our Lord. Rest In Peace dear friend.

The question could be asked, but will we receive the desired answer?

I once broke my ankle when my foot twisted after stepping down from a curb going into a shopping mall. You can fall and injure yourself on a 7 inch curb.

KI Seeks Applications For Seasonal Jobs

What job can beat working in pet care and playing with all the cute puppies and kittens? Or watching the ferrets play, watching an occasional bird, pigs, goats and yes, watching the ducks play in the water tub as they say, "what the quack are you looking at?" We do get some unusual pets in at times, like the pigs, goats, and ferrets and others. Never a dull moment in pet care. -

it would depend on the amount of hours you would get each week. I put my availability as open for 5 or 6 days with either 1 or 2 days off each week. But in some jobs when the crowd size is not large, expect to be sent home early. This is true in admissions. -

Ecology is the department that the sweeps are in. Sweeps or pan and broom, walk their area while sweeping up trash on the ground. The department also cleans the restrooms in the park and empty the trash cans. When I started back in 1972, we were called litter getters, then area hosts and now pan and broom or sweeps. If you like working in a different area of the park on a daily basis and not tied down to one area, it is for you. -
Maybe they have a giant cork remover like the ones used on wine bottles?
