  1. Could the ride be related to the Banshee in the Sherlock Holmes movies and novels?
  2. Would Cedar Fair or other chains trade mark various names that they might feel would be a good name for a ride just to prevent others from using it? Cedar Fair might feel that Banshee might be a good name for a ride that they might plan in the near future at other parks in their family of parks. They might see what the reaction would be for a name like Banshee among all the fans and if it is well received, use it for a future ride.
  3. I like rag time and music from the big band era like Glenn Miller.
  4. It just depends what "is" "is."
  5. Does the Reds Hall of Fame Grille have their own liquor license that is separate from the Park's? Does it require that they can only serve mixed drinks starting at 3:00 PM?
  6. If the park ever expands in that area, the maintenance building can always be relocated to another area.
  7. It is just like the auto dealer runs an ad for their cars, it states "starting as low as $ with all rebates and savings applied, ect. Read the legal disclaimers as to what the price is.
  8. SOB was torn down due to complaints and lawsuits due to injuries caused by the very rough ride and not by the Great Wolf Lodge complaining about it being too loud. You must remember Son of Beast was built before the GWL was constructed and they knew about it. It is like someone moving near a very busy interstate highway and then complaining about the loud noise from the heavy traffic. That type of a "rumor" is something even the Dippin Dot guy would not spread.
  9. The area where SOB and Thunder Alley used to be is huge and they have only just begun to dig footings for whatever future attraction they have planned. Look for when they expand into other areas and start to place heavy equipment and start actual construction once the prep work is completed. As time goes on, we should be given other clues or teasers to ponder among ourselves.
  10. When WindSeeker first opened, I ask Don a question regarding the ride. I have had two spinal cervical fusion surgeries and I ask him would the ride produce any harsh whipping of my neck that might put lots of stress on my neck. He said it would be ok as far as my neck would not be jerked around back and forth and side to side like roller coasters. He is very easy to talk to and will take the time to talk with you.
  11. I had meant to include, other than KI, I am not sure if other parks in former Paramount Parks and Cedar Fair are, were or ever had been unionized. I have based what I said on when we used to be union in the early to mid 70's and we decertified them. This applies to only the full time maintenance workers.
  12. When I worked in the maintenance department at KI in 73/74, we used to be union but we kicked them out due to lousy representation. Other than that park in question, I am not sure if other maintenance workers are unionized.
  13. I would like to see a new and improved version of the Shooting Star and call it Super Nova.
  14. I am hoping for a wood coaster that is exciting and fun to ride and will provide lots of thrills.
  15. Who wants to be in line beside someone drinking beer who can't stand the smell of alcohol? Also in a close, confined space, it could easily be spilled onto someone in line. Before it was modified again, you could only drink the beer where you bought it.
  16. This guy is claiming that these carnival games were rigged or that they somehow cheated in the operation of the games. A little research would had shown that these games are not what they seem to be. Take the basketball toss. These basketballs and backboards are not regulation as the balls are smaller than regular balls and the backboards are slanted. The balloons in the dart game are under inflated and makes it harder to burst them with the dart. Casinos are regulated and all the games are checked and they are monitored to prevent people from cheating in the playing of the games. This guy should had known how these carnival games worked and would had been less expensive to go to Best Buy and buy that video game. The game operators are banking on the fact that people think these games are on the up and up and are not slightly modified like the basketballs and balloons as an example.
  17. Just like the balloons are under inflated in the dart game, the basketball is under sized in the basketball toss game. The backboard is slanted and is not a regulation backboard. All of the games are not what they seem to be. All of the games are a waste of money for the people playing them. Your reward is nothing but a cheap prize that you will be better off buying at a local store. This guy knew they were rigged in this fashion and he played them anyway. He stands no chance in trying to file a lawsuit in this matter. Any lawyer that will take this legal action on the typical 33% fee of any award is a fool.
  18. Malem is correct, the cheapest ticket is the two day ticket that is sold at the park for $54.99. Also, check out your local credit union if you are a member there. If you travel and stay at a motel/hotel, check with them and see if they offer Kings Island promotions with your weekend stay.
  19. Mexico is not in my plans to visit also.
  20. The only time you do want to drink bottle water is when visiting Mexico. Also drink bottle beer instead of mix drinks. Otherwise you will be like Cheech in Up In Smoke. But yes, water is free at Kings Island and just wasting your money with bottle water.
  21. Would the name of the company filing for permits be under Cedar Fair, LP db as Kings Island with the corporate address being used? As for the location, Kings Island is located within the city of Mason and using Kings Island, Oh 45034 as the mailing address.
  22. Maxim is the source for the article, not Fox News. Fox carried the feed from Maxim in their travel section and the typos belong to them. If someone works in the news field, can the receiving source edit the piece for typos or do they have to publish it as is? If not, it might be because of copyright issues.
  23. Bathing suits should be limited to the water side of the park and should not be worn in the dry section. According to what Forgotten Scream said, GR said as long as the nibbles are covered, it is ok. That is very broad. Kind of what the State of Ohio requires strippers to wear over their breasts in strip bars. I have seen women wearing bikini tops that are very brief that most bras have more material than bikini tops do. Women should be required to wear shirts and shorts over their bathing suits or change out of them for cloths.
  24. The yellow and black stripes is nothing more than a bright warning to make you take notice that construction is taking place. It is the wording in the block within the yellow and black stripes that is important as far as the clue or clues are concerned. The design and coloring of the stripes is designed to make you take heed and caution that construction is taking place.
  25. I was working in park services maintaining restrooms in that area and I HATED that game! People would get soaked and go into the restroom and wring their cloths out and get the floor soaked. I am glad that it was removed.
