Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

After seeing the CW WindSeeker in test mode, they are way ahead of others. I still expect them to be first but maybe not due to CP/Ohio is the homestead. -

Well was thinking about KI today and wondered if they were open tonight. Wow they are now open on Friday's 10 - 10. Checked the site web cams and it is dead there. Wish I could be there and get a ride fest going. Well maybe take a 1/2 day next week. -

So it appears that WindSeeker has sat non-running for a week or so now. Do they first test it here and then call in the inspector or what? I agree from this viewpoint it will be a bit until it is running. I know that CP is moving along but will miss their opening as well. Wonder if Canada's Wonderland will be first. They have been way ahead. Would/Could they be the first park? -

Now they have Diamondback Cam, Front Gate Cam and new the Fox 19 Cam on the web cam page. So guess we only get to see a long distance shot of WindSeeker now. -

Yep, as expected it is not ready. Not a big deal but it is as many of us had expected. I am sure bad/rainy weather did not help at all. -

Well it is back down again as there is no image being displayed. Maybe setting it for the future and trying to find best position -

No the gap is for vehicles to get in and out..... The hanging of the last few seats wont take long. -

Well see news that Cedar Point is wanting to have a fund raiser for first rides on WindSeeker May 13. So will KI do anything like this as well? Have seen no announcements and they have done it for several other new rides. So does this fuel the conspiracy theory that they will not be ready Saturday? -

Just got an email/newsletter and on the page it has this: April 30 OPENING DAY 2011 Be among the first to ride WindSeeker! *Please note: Kings Island will be closed to the public on May 1, 2011. Reopening May 6th. So lets hope they get it done -

Yes this is #1 of 4. They will be the test rabbit for issues and all. I am sure they have lots to test and it will take time. They probably have best case to worst case scenarios to test and also train workers. So be patient. -

I was just assuming they were trying to get it done by Saturday. I am sure it can be inspected quickly, but remember it is the first of its type. So sure testing will not be one rotation. And if not behind, then why run 24/7. It will be open when ready and fully tested. -

yeah I am assuming the electrical wiring had hit a snag, thus they are behind and doubt you see it open Saturday. Still need to approve and cycle test a bunch. -

Ok, so all those who are knowing.....what is going on? Obviously they have issues are awaiting parts that are not there. Lots of people on site but no real major action. So no clues....? -

Well you figure they left that gap for a reason. Whatever that truck had today was put up or something fixed. So wonder what is up with that. But yeah, I can not see it open on Saturday. I imagine it needs quite a few cycle times and water dummy tests? Sorry folks. -

Yeah and the crane seems to be back down and ready to roll away and they did not hang any bars/seats with it. So what is up or what were they doing? Still wonder if they found a problem or flaw they had to weld or fix. -

So why the crane/truck there today? Is something amuck and thus they did not complete installing all chairs? They have not used this crane for installing other seats/bars. So was something wrong on just not there yet that they have been waiting on and now it needs installed? -

It is odd the last seats and bars have not been attached for quite some time. Do you think they are missing parts or something? Wonder why it would not have been complete by now. Only a few to hang or is there something in the core they still need to do -

Watch Delerium carefully when it gets up there. The revs slow down which is why I can ride it as well. Yep agree this looks like a spin and puke at 300 feet. -

Yep, same way with spinners. Zephyr is enough for me. If it wasnt such a spin and puke, I would love to ride it. -

Guess it is finish the control house day. The other guys must be crashing due to a late night. So I wonder how much cycle testing time this ride will get. Do they test with water dummies like on coasters?
