  1. Cause of the Fire still TBD. http://www.meadvilletribune.com/breakingne..._032115305.html (an update from the link Interpreter posted)
  2. This park has been through so many horrible situations recently. http://www.goerie.com/apps/pbcs.dll/articl...707526/-1/RSS01
  3. Kings Island: At least we still don't have a Beaver Land Mine Ride!
  4. ^Alien Seed, that is some classic photo shop, I kept looking to see what you might have done to it, then it clicked, haha! Nice job.
  5. That'd be a good joke. Name it Drop Tower 1 and see how many people say, "Drop Tower 1 seems too intense for me." Ahahahaha, That made me giggle! The renaming of Drop Zone to Drop Tower, leaves a sour taste in my mouth with the ride renaming. I agree with KIfan73, The ride names now seem so generic, and it gives me the feeling that the magical experiences I had as a younger kid are gone with the name changes. I realize the rides are still the same, its more mental than anything. For you Interpreter, I'm sure it would be like Disney renaming "It's a small world" to "World Tour".
  6. I loved that article. I absolutely love optimism, and what I see in that article is also what I believe to be some very realistic ideas as well. Thanks for posting that Interpreter!
  7. $20 for a buffet? WOW, talk about expensive.
  8. I really didn't care for the Lake. I almost never even glanced upon it, it was just kinda off the beaten path. off to the side of the area. I think maybe the only time I looked out onto the lake was to see if the Christmas tree barge had moved a couple inches.
  9. If Nick is such a big draw as many on here seem to think, and Valleyfair! could provide a larger area, with greater amenities; as well as a much more complete family oriented atmosphere, and a much larger theme park no less I could see them getting a Nick license. If a Nick license could bring in additional guests worthy of its price, much more than any other license regardless of its closeness to another such licensing agreement, then wouldn't it be a good business move? (I realize this is unrealistic to think the numbers would work out in this way, but if they did, I could see them saying that).
  10. Well, It does not say exclusive to the area or any other such wordage...
  11. I like this idea as a short time fix. Busch Gardens Africa does some of this place-based advertising in their park. Kumba for instance, I believe, is presented by Mountain Dew. And the sign lets you know that. EDIT: My original posted material was no longer important to the subject at hand

You have never got to ride even ONE standup, and you have made all these claims regarding them, about your preference of a B&M stand-up to a TOGO stand-up? Are you serious? Why would you make such claims, if you have never even ridden one? All I can say is wow, I wish I had the infinite wisdom that you possess.
  13. All I can say is, this is long awaited! All of the "confirmed" rumors have seemingly got out of hand quite recently. I applaud KIC for adopting this policy, it makes the forums much more respectable! No longer will I have to sift through pages of unsupported rumors to get to the quality insights that many on this board have to share. Great job KIC! Kudos admins and mods!
  14. I have the answer to all of their problems...bring back Mr. Six! No, in all seriousness though, Shapiro as the article states has only been with the company since January of 2006. This will be just his second full year at the helm of the SF parks. As a business student, I am a firm believer in 5 year plans, for executive officers new to their respective companies to get things turned in the right direction. Creditors will want it to be a 3 year plan, but as far as actual realistic goals, let us just see how Shapiro and Six Flags fares over the next two years, if Shapiro is given that much time. I still believe that they can turn it around, the business ideas Shapiro has had so far seem to be fresh tactics for the struggling company. Not to mention Shapiro has shown through his business decisions that he can adapt and admit failure. According to the article, Shapiro's big idea in '07 was to spend more on marketing the parks. Upon realizing this past year, that did not make a huge bit of difference in attendance, he immediately decided to do away with that policy and not carry out a weak decision any further. There just are two questions that need to be answered in accordance with Shapiro's marketing policies: 1.) What is the possibility that every bit of that marketing money in the budget last year was needed just to sustain attendance figures in a year of a weakening economy? -and- 2.)With the expanded marketing policy of Six Flags in 2007, would attendance have been reflective of the increased marketing had it not been for the bad publicity of the very unfortunate Superman:Tower of Power malfunction?

It MUST be the off-season, why else would we be commenting on the actual use and need of restraints and seat belts on a ride? Don't worry all, you can remember what it is like to ride a roller coaster, and what the restraint does for you in a few months...
  16. Here are some very dark and poor quality(It was very cloudy in the morning and rainy, and I didn't have my new camera) pictures of the Sea Dragon sitting lonely amongst the dirt, on my second to last visit to the zoo.
  17. Don't You just HATE it when people who know absolutely nothing talk and act like they know everything?- JacksonPKI 1-27-2008
  18. I loved Legos, I was always making neat airplanes, and cars and stuff. Its where I got the love for architecture and building that I have today, which I would be doing if I didn't want to be a CEO one day, lol! But my favorite building set from my younger years was definitely my erector set. I have so many things sitting around here still today that I built with my erector set pieces. Occasionally I used the legos to build an outside for my erector set cars. Such great times for sure!
  19. Behemoth's track is now complete at Canada's Wonderland! The last track piece was secured on January 22, 2008. Pictures online in Behemoth's Photo Gallery. It sure is a Behemoth. Just look at that beautiful B&M track in all her newborn glory! Link to Behemoth's photo gallery provided: http://behemoth.canadaswonderland.com/publ...1&maxRow=12
  20. I'm curious, Jackson, Which of those manufacturers that you listed is in your opinion inferior to the other?
  21. I positively love this idea! But I will settle for my pre-loaded ipod, my great understanding of the park, and complimentary old-fashioned park map! Not to mention, a lot of time waiting in line some times lends itself to some great photo opportunities.
  22. I once had a drafting teacher of mine say that it seems to never fail that Architects over-design and Engineers over-complicate!
  23. As I have come to understand it, the billboard is just a big sticker. All they would have to do I imagine, is print up a new one.
  24. This is absolute music to my ears! Finally a good ride operator story on here, lol.
