Season Pass Decision
Actually Coasters, it must have been offered for cheeper than that because I remember being offered the MAXX pass for 105 and Maxx Plus for 125. We had gotten something in the mail explaining it.

Americana
Ronny, at your request I will try and find the matter of the photo discrepancies! However, I have not seen any permanent declarations of Jerry being a "crook" on the site! Now, in the forums, which are by no means completely permanent... There have been references to Jerry being a "crook" on the forums, however those as I have attempted to do on here, are usually readily cleaned up by those of us on the forums who know the man that Jerry truly is...a hardworking business man! I have many times on the site, as have many others, openly criticized Jerry on what he could have done differently, however these are on the scale similar to that of the attack that Paramount has received on these boards for the last year! In the links to history, rides, and other applications opened on the SOAPHS site you will see no negative references in regards to owner Jerry Couch made by any of the quality contributors to the site or site webmaster and park enthusiast Scott Fowler! Scott I may also mention, stands on very firm ground with the Jerry Couch, and I believe at one time Scott worked for or in conjunction with Mr. Couch, however I remain uncertain on the exact status of their relationship! As you can see there is no reason for INFORMED members of the SOAPHS site or historical society to post such references as to Jerry being a "Crook" and thus other than by a few members in the forums you will find no such references! I at one point in regards to seeing some pictures of Fantasy Farm (which lies adjacent to the park) that had only a few buildings still standing and the rest nothing but rubble playfully stated "At least the big bad wolf hasnt blown these buildings down [in reference to those still standing]" This statement was and will remain a cynical take on the feelings that I and others have inside them for such losses. Contribute this same statement as telling your mom when you were younger that you hated her after you got in trouble! You don't really hate your mom, but the intense emotions get the best of you and you state things that can be regrettable, but are an accurate portrayal of your intense feelings. You will see mostly things of that above mentioned nature, and that is all! I will attempt to resolve this picture matter! I am also sure however that, any factual errors on the site are very few and far between and on par with the factual errors that one may find on PKIC; as with history, truth, and matter of fact, there will always be discrepancies and errors; and such is the nature of the conveyance of truth and the communication of that history between peoples! Thank you all for your time!

A Five Year Plan You Decide
Thank you for your well wishes Avatar! You state that you looked up the calendar of Miamisburg City Schools online and said, "but after checking your schools calendar online, I found they are closer to what the year-round schools are doing now. so not sure your school falls in the old the old catagorie" -Are you saying here that our calendar is close to that of year round schooling? If that is the case than year-round schooling sounds quite similar to what we use here, and I like our system very much, as long as there is at least a month off during the summer! "By the way is Jersey Week as bad and crowded as they say on the Disney boards?" - I am not to sure what Jersey Week is, however when we go which is during close to the dates of which you saw on the website for MCS...We have no problems whatsoever at the parks, quite frankly most of the parks are rather roomy! The only time we have ever had an extraordinary wait time at Disney was this year during my Fall break..which I skipped classes at UD to go with my family on my younger sister's schedule...was the wait to get back to Fantasmic one night. Other than that...I have almost never experienced a bad, long, or packed week at Disney! I highly suggest some of you go around these times! You state, "Cory; I am in no way trying to say what any school does is bad and antiquated but following a school calendar that was meant to suit the lives of the 1800 and early 1900 is." -You stated previously that we run a schedule very similar to yours! if this is the case our debate is not opposing each other but rather informing the members of the greatness of the schedule...since I for one love our current schedule...If our schedules are nearly identical than I have little problem taking just one more week out of our summer or possibly two to throw back into the year! You state, "I would like to break down all the positives that your school is doing great at, and the reason why they should not consider a possible better way." -Oh so we do not need to consider a better way? I am in complete agreement with you on this point! Also in regards to Nickelodian Central becoming a part of KI and everything becoming Nick Universe....I am in complete agreement! This was a change needed to sustain that balance of life of which I stated! "Cory I think it is wonderful that we have place that we can share exchange and debate our opinions in such a respectful way. That’s what I love about this board!" -Again, we are in complete agreement! I love the healthy debate we have on this board, it is intellectually stimulating ! I cant wait to get on UD's debate team by the way! Think I'll do well? Avatar, I am greatly enjoying your company on this board! The floor is yours!.......

Americana
Ok, first off there are so many facts wrong in this post... Obviously, Bill, the photos are yours, I dont know why Kevin Miller was given the credit for them, However Kevin Miller is like me, simply a contributor to the Americana site. Scott Fowler is the owner of the site and president of the Southwest Ohio Amusement Park Historical Society. There is no person by the name of Kevin Fowler...It is Scott Fowler and Kevin Miller. Now that we have that cleared up...the owner of Lesourdsville lake's name is NOT Al Couch, his name is Jerry Couch!! The management company did not bring in the rides either...the rides were purchased by Jerry Couch himself! Attendance was fine to support the park, what forced its closing was the poor running of things by the Pughes. They refused to pay wages and electrical Bills, and one day just ran from things and declared Bankrupcy. This left Jerry to either run the park himself, find a new management team quickly, or fold the park for the rest of the year. As history has told us, he chose the latter. Also, Jerry Couch was forced to devour the back payments by the Pughes since they were under contract with him....and all the rides that Jerry himself purchased were repossessed! I hope this post clears up any confusion regarding the history of LL...If anyone would like to know more...this is the one park that I happen to know much regarding its history!

A Five Year Plan You Decide
Well, hells bells...I went to Miamisburg City Schools and we had..and still do...a Fall Break that lasts a whole weak, a Winter break that lasts 2 weeks, and a Spring break around Easter that lasts one week. We go to Disney and Universal and Busch Gardens every year at least once and take the whole week, then we spend our spring Break either doing the same thing again or we go spend a week in Gatlinburg, or a weak touring the East Coast. Sometimes we even flip flop this schedule. Your school system Avatar, must have given no Fall Break and Spring Break, we only receive a week but my parents schedule their vacations around this time, and we go on many vacations as a family with absolutely no problems. And Occasionally we will also go do things over the summer. Now Miamisburg does take a couple of weeks out of the traditional summer to provide these extra weeks. We have been denoted a Blue Ribbon School system of excellence for a long while now, and it seems that we have struck the near perfect balance between your year-round schooling and as you call it the "1800-1900 old antiquated way"! I will stick with our tradition here! Oh and BTW, they tacked on an hour to our day a few years back to cutdown on homework, and it barely even worked for one year and we ended up with more homework. Life is harmony...a perfect balance will be struck by all objects in life to maintain a level of stability, and life my friend will always find a way!

Kings Island Hosts Job Fair
haha, well I have asked you all about further details on which position to apply for and now my decision is down to Merchandise Warehouse-Distribution and Ride Op. In your opinions I am sure that Ride Op would be marked as the most fun job to work...but which position do you all think that would a)Provide the best look on a resume b)have the most interaction with fellow employees and c) what is better checking restraints or delivering stuff around the park? Thanks for your input!

A Five Year Plan You Decide
I really dont know, I liked having my two and a half months off during the summer, but I guess that is me. And at UD I get the same 2 and a half months off for the summer. So all I can say is thank god this hasnt spread all the way!

A Five Year Plan You Decide
I agree that If KI had more indoor attractions, they could stay open year round and just close the outdoor ones. However...I do not see as many schools as you do in favor of changing to year round schools. Studies have been done and I remember a teacher last year telling me when I asked her that according to one study schools that are open year round have a higher case of burnout and in fact test scores tend to be lower. Also, do not forget you have to find teachers that are willing to work over the summer as well, without increasing salaries and busting the state and local treasuries! Lots of teachers work because the 2 and a half months off over the summer is a great perk. I do not see alot more schools converting to year round schooling...there simply dont appear to be any concrete advantages, but many disadvantages...not to mention opposition. Which lets face it, insurance companies have fought Drivers license age increases for a very long time!

A Five Year Plan You Decide
I think a B&M inverted roller coaster that replicated a flyover of the states would be pretty cool! Put it in a giant building and all under the coaster put a model town, sorta like they do on Peter Pan at Disney. Although, I just figured out a problem with this idea....you would be going really fast to notice much I think

Americana
I would have to believe both men, Kevin Miller, and Bill Ware took their pictures from nearly identical spots. I know nearly with complete certainty that the pictures on the Americana site, were taken my Kevin Miller!

Disney's Beast Cast Member Arrested
Im so glad that I got to participate in this! lol We are amazing!
-
Could we be seeing this in the future?
simple reply...NO, too much steel! lol we have Runaway Reptar and it actually is aesthetically pleasing, plus the supports on reptar stem directly from mostly lowprofile footings, not a mass entanglement of steel webbing that originates from footings. The coaster you showed just looks like one giant mess!

Cedar Point Space
Actually if anything bothers me about Cedar Fair now owning GL, CP, AND KI... and this is a very small bother, is the fact that now KI and CP arent in direct competition. Sure the inhouse crews want to one up each other and that will create excellence, but I fear there isnt much of an arms-race now. However the brighter side of this could be that we get a record breaking coaster one year CP the next, and this pattern repeats. Competition is always supposed to be good for the consumer, and now there isnt to much of it, its all in the same chain. I do however feel that HersheyPark, SFKK, Dollywood, and KI could compete for the greatest regional destination...but will this be enough? I hope so, and perhaps it will, only time will tell!

Things Found at PKI
I had my phone fall out of my pocket on Vortex in the middle of one of those corskrews, and I felt it laying behind my back...it kept moving so I put my hand back there to try and pin it down till the ride was over and I didnt and it slowly fell out to the right of me and there it was outside of the car in mid-air, and I just reached out my hand the best I could and snatched it...I was amazed! time Like stood still It was crazy!
