  1. The underlined "Hitler" in the post is a link.
  2. So by "before the tunnel" I'm guessing this is mostly involving the entrances to the low parts of the helix? That's the part that's completely demolished right now, at least. No sign of the actual tunnel being taken apart, although any trackwork inside can't be seen obviously.
  3. Eh, I'd still like to see a good size wheel right across from Dodgem, basically by where the original Les Taxis station was. Hide Backlot's show scene from the midway some, and make a nice show piece for that entrance to Coney.
  4. Cedar Fair didn't change it. Paramount's Outer Limits license only ran through 2001, since 2002 it's been exactly how it is now. The only edits were the removal of the Outer Limits voiceover lines. The end of that video is the end of the actual show, the start is where it cycles through static with a reboot screen and they say "power surge, took out the net!"
  5. First drop reprofile, not sure what to think about that...
  6. Yeah, back in 2002 with my Nokia the park was closed the next day, but they just said come on down and take the employee entrance, we'll bring it out.
  7. I wish the state would make an exemption for situations like WinterFest NYE and let the rides run until close. Currently, all rides have to be shut down by midnight because their annual certification expires.
  8. Back in 2002, my Nokia somehow got out of my pocket somewhere on Beast and exited the train without me noticing, I only discovered I was missing my phone sometime after the ride. Filed a report on it, and it had been found somewhere, in the dirt, missing the battery pack. Spent the night somewhere in the woods, having hit something apparently to knock the battery off the back. Of course, being a Nokia, cleaned it up after recovering it from the park, new battery, perfectly fine. In 2010, the ONE time I forget my belt clip for it, I made it into Diamondback's exit shop and realized my Samsung Alias had, without me noticing, vanished somewhere, again from my pocket. Ran back to the station to see if it had fallen into the seat when I got out, but the train had already been sent. Filed a report, but that one was never found. Interestingly, calling it for several days, it rang instead of direct to voicemail, so it seemed that it was still on. I was in a right side outboard seat, so my best guess there is the helix ejected it from my pocket and shot it off into the WWC woods, didn't get destroyed, but was out beyond where they look for items.
  9. If it was later, it must still have been early in the ride's life, because the finale part with the narration and CGI originally ended with an Outer Limits line.
  10. I think they got the pricing flipped up between these and the Eiffel Tower kit. For $125 you get a pen and a generic stand with a certificate. The part of the pen that’s even visibly part of the ride is small, and well, it’s a pen. I’d have paid $60 for one, $125 is overpriced. ET kit, you get a decent size paint chip sealed in plastic, certificate PLUS two special postcards like The Vortex kit had, AND a custom (and painted) Cutout model that’s probably worth $30 by itself. Severely underpriced at $60 for what you get with that, that would have been more deserving of a $125 tag.
  11. Well, we're getting closer and closer to personal satellites...
  12. I don't think they need to be replaced, but a proper factory rebuild by PTC for both Beast and Racer trains would do wonders. Too much has been done to them in-house over the years.
  13. I know, but he was seeming to confuse the original kicker wheels as being the trims.
  14. Skid brakes, the two "bars" between the track rails. They cover the entire brake shed, and are also on the first drop, first hill, and start of the drop from the second lift. The mags just slow the trains a LOT more abruptly than the skid brakes did. You might be thinking the old booster wheels at the end of the shed are the trims.
  15. I really wish KI would send their PTC trains to PTC for an overhaul. The headrests, added dividers, conversion to ratchet bars, etc was all done in-house and makes them heavier than they need to be. The same kind of train runs on CP's Blue Streak, and those are generally sent to PTC for their offseason work.
  16. That happened chainwide a while back now after Magnum had a minor fender-bender.
  17. In place of the checkers, maybe they could zebra-stripe the dividing parts and also the top. Same colors, new appearance.
  18. It's a utility box in the parking lot median, telephoto effect is making it look like it's in the park. There's another one closer to the camera.
  19. You know what I wish they'd do in the Festhaus? The in-the-round classical that Paramount did in 2005. I really liked that atmosphere, not sure if they'd be able to alternate it with the stage show though.
  20. Of the three Drop Towers I've been on, the slow final settling on DT with the motors running loudly right above you, then the sudden clunk and silence while you try to remember how many seconds the delay is, that's easily the most unnerving. Then-SFKK's Hellevator I found to be someone uninteresting, but the (ARM Rides I think) mobile one I've ridden a couple times at the state fair is interesting because for a "short" tower, there is just simply NO delay, once it clears the top of the chains that lift it, it just disengages and falls, with a very short and abrupt brake. That was especially startling the first time.
  21. Maybe close but not quite, see that blasted strip right below the 50ft deck?
  22. That would fit in with it blending into Oktoberfest as a Black Forest area.
  23. Hmm, true, it would get it out of the way.
  24. I wonder why they're taking the vehicle up and not just using the lift car, that's what the catwalk is on.
  25. Swamp gas reflecting off Venus etc etc...
