  1. I don't know, what does it mean?
  2. It was there when the park opened, sans LED board and paramount Logo
  3. no, it is NOT in the place of Kookaburra Bay. It is to the right of where Kooka should be.
  4. Trip Report May 22 2004, Boomerang Bay Gold Pass Preview Day! We got to the park at about 3:50 PM, and the parking lots were PACKED! There was a long backup on Kings Island Drive trying to get into the toll booths! We finally got in, and went into the Boomerang Bay/Deep South parking lot, which was also packed. After getting a lucky spot 3 rows from the entrance, we went up to the Gold Pass entrance, which has been nicely redone, with new paint, permanent metal detector installations and canopy, and a large Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay sign, attached to a (approprietly) boomerang-shaped post. We got in, and dodged two Keyhole Photo people, where there is now a booth to get photos as well, with computer screens to display photos, and a bank of printers. PKI done good! It looks a million times better, or more, than the old concrete slab, errrr, WaterWorks hehe. With all kind of new landscaping, planters, and the AWESOME new colors! First new ride to see is Kookaburra Bay Lagoon. While it is smaller than it appeared in the marketing material, it is still pretty darn cool! Complete with waterfalls, it has lounge chairs in the water and around the outside. Next up, walking over toward the wave pool. The sand volleyball is not in yet! Hopefully it will be in by the official opening day on the 29th. Other than that, the former no-mans-land area between ends of the park is looking great! Massive amounts of concrete has been replaced by landscaping and planters, and over by the wave pool, the chair area is divided from the main walkways by large floral layouts, with entrances between them. On either side of the wave pool, there are Dasani Cabana Villages on each side, with 10 cabanas per side. They are restricted areas, requiring a separate fee to use. Over on the other side, toward Tasmanian Typhoon, the concrete space has been broken up with large areas of tall reed grass, which provides some nice shade. TASMANAN TYPHOON This ride is massive! It looms over the rest of that end of the park, and there is an observation bridge right in front of the massive funnel, close enough to get splashed when the rafts enter the funnel. Walking around the back of the ride down the exit path, I finally got a real look at the conveyor belt that returns rafts to the top. The employees push empty rafts into the base, and the belt grabs it out of the pool and carries it to the top. Walking back out, I went down toward the old end of the park, still taking massive amounts of photos of the park. By the Coolangatta Racers finish slide, there were two women smoking OUTSIDE OF THE DESIGNATED AREA! I went to find an employee, but I turned around and saw one already talking to them, so I headed on past the train station. Not much is different over here, except for new landscaping and signage on the slides. So I wandered around while drinking some sugar water with a lemon in it, (PKI's version of lemonade ), from one of the roving carts. I took a few photos over in the old section, then went back toward the train to meet my parents, stopping to change my camera batteries on the way. (Stupid digital camera is only half the size of a floppy disk, but it eats batteries up in 20 minutes!) After fetching my parents, we went to the train and waited for it to get back. I was going to let them ride the train and I was going to walk, but it was just too darn hot! So the train got back and we boarded. The train is running FULL today! Hardly any empty SEATS, let alone rows! We got to the main park, and went toward Hanna-Barbera Land to get food, and on the way I went down WWC's exit to take pictures. WWC's line is well OUTSIDE the entrance sign! And it is SO HOT AND HUMID down the exit too! I finally got to Tower 3, and took about 10 pictures around the area, then my mom called and I went over to Magilla Gorilla's Grill. I got there, ate a cheese sandwich and spicy curly fries, then went off toward Action Zone to ride Days Of Thunder. At Days Of Thunder, My parents inseist on watching because of my incident last time (dang), so I got my driver's ticket and headed to the station, where there was actually a short line. 3 races later, I got on in the lead car. After watching three previous races, I knew to expect trouble, as the races before mine were stopped more often than not, either with a car that quit running, or idiots doing horseplay. Well, they instructed us to drive out of the pit SLOWLY in a single file line, so we did, then I and all the other drivers floored it and off we went! Well, less than two laps into the rwce, we all had to stop because some jerk rammed another car and turned it sideways into the wall, so that got straighted out, and racing resumed. Then, next lap, happened again! For the rest of the race, I stayed to the outside away from them idiots and had to stop twice more for the idiots to get told off and turned back around. Thay had obviously seen the line in Days Of Thunder where Harry Hogge said "No, he didn't slam you he didnt bump you he didnt nudge you, he RUBBED you, and rubbing, son, is racing!", So I stayed away and finished the race. Well, I pulled into the pit in 4th place, And I just sat there minding my own business, waiting for the other row to dispatch so I could get out of there. (We were parked in the Waterpark lot, and the waterpark closed in less than half an hour, we had to go back out that way to avoid walking across the entire parking lot from the main entrance.) Then, All of a sudden, WHAM! The same jerk who kept causing wrecks during the race slammed into the car behind me, which then hit me, and whammed all the cars in front of me sideways! That jerk! I now have a seriuos headache! If I had seen him get off,I woulda kicked his ass! but he got lost in the crowd, so I just met my parents again and headed back toward Rivertown to get on the train. We got to the train and boarded the LAST ONE to leave prior to the waterpark closing! We got there, unloaded, and headed out into the lot, and home! Overall a FANTASTIC, but very hot, day!

Trip Report Parmaount's Kings Island - May 8 2004 After a lateer-than-usual start, we got to the park at about 4PM. The parking lot was packed! buses everywhere! We got parked up close (my dad was with us, PKI's handicapped parking rocks!) and got through security and into the park. I went staight to the Tower, and got in line. The first thing I was was that the lower base of the tower around the elevator doors had been painted a nice, rich green just like the tower's original colors. The new elevators are a green color on the outside, unlike the old red ones. I looked over, and there is Jeff Seibert loading people into the car! I wouldve said Hi but he left before I was ready to board. THe next car came down and I got in. THe control panels, which I had read that they were still the old panels, certainly were not. They have an LCD display showing the direction of travel, and the current level. Up and away we went, with a great view out of the all-glass-side-window elevators even the two sets of doors have windows on and around them. I got off at the top, and happened to look at the floor. YIKES!!! There is a gap between the car and the elevator, and you can look through it 300 FEET STRAIGHT DOWN!!! yikes! so I quickly crossed over it and went onto the deck. After half-filling a roll of film, I went back down. After quickly meeting my parents, they headed to Hanna-Barbrea while I headed into Action Zone. They reminded me to get some water, so I would stop in AZ. They were going to go to Festhaus to eat, but they said it was dirty and smelly. When I got into Action Zone, I immediately went and checked the line on Son of Beast. Unfortunetely, The line was all the way into the overflow queues by Top Gun's line after the tunnel. So I decided to check back later, because I REALLY wanted to ride Sonny today. So I headed back out and stopped at the Dippin' Dots stande by Xtreme Skyflyer and got a bottle of Coke. After wrenching the Coke open and starting on it, (Dammit, I'm hot and thirsty and they super-glue the #%@%@ bottles shut!), I headed to Adventure Express. I got in line and it moved fast. Not very long to begin with, about a htird of the weay into the covered bridge. I got to the station and got in line for the back seat. Just before my train got in, I finished my Coke and ducked the bottle into the trash can between the lines for the last two cars. Of course, my mom called as soon as I sat down and pulled the bar down. So I rapidly told her to jump off the Tower and wait until I got off, and I would meet them in Hanna-Barbera for lunch. But because of my position, I could not get my phone fully back into my pocket, so I had to hold my hand over my pocket the whole ride to avoid losing my wallet. Well, this was a bad idea. Not only was my pocket not closed properly, requiring me to keep my hand there to avoid losing stuff, I felt like burping through the whole ride from that PDB bottle of Coke! Plus, I was in the BACK SEAT. So I got off feeling quite unwell, and headed toward the Busytown Grill. On the way toward Hanna, I finished up my film (Digital camera in repair shop, GRR. Oh well, That's what Photo CD's are for ) SO I got to Busytown Grill, and ate pizza, ehh, cardboard that my mom had brought from I. Street LaRosa's. As soon as I had that and a bottle of milk down, I beat feet over to Nickelodeon Central, found the Reptar lines to be WAY too long, and headed into Rivertown. As soon as I got into, nice, cool Rivertown, I headed up WWC's exit to look around. It had been years since I was last down there. SO I walked all the way down the exit (I swear, It's longer than Top Gun to get there), and went over to Tower 3. After getting change for the water gun controls, I proceded to mercilessly soak the next 10 rafts that went through BWAHAHA! Afterwards, I hiked back out the exit (bleh) and headed for The Beast. darn! Lines are not ym friend today. Beast has a line which is WAYYYYYYY too long for my tastes. So I decided to immediately take the scenic route to SoB, goin through Coney Mall and Oktoberfest to Action Zone. On the was through Coney, I ahd actually gotten in line for the Eagles and waited a couple cycles before realizing it was going to take freakin' forever. So I just hopped out and resumed my hike over to Sonny. After beating my personal record for flying through Coney Mall to get to one end or the other, I got into AZ and entered SoB's line. Ack, still out to the tunnel, but I am not going to leave until I ahve ridden SoB! OK, SoB has a VERY BORING line to wait in, and leaning against those fences on the ramps with a 40-foot drop behind you is very uncomfortable. I got to the station and got in line for PSV 13, middle row. Boarded five minutes later, right side, just me. Tossed my hat over to the right against the fence, secured pockets, and away we go! Before the lift, I pulled a VERY goofy look for the camera, I mean, BAD! Up Up and awayyyyyyyyy....... WHOA! THIS ROCKS! DOwn the drop, up and around, then, just when I'm bracing myself for the spine compressor errrrr, helix, It became smooth as glass! That new tracking is really first-rate! OK, end of the ride still has that speed-bump feeling, but otherwise, great! I got off and actually tried to slip into an empty seat further back, but I couldn't find one. So I got off and got my onride photo, one small and one keychain. Then I met my parents between there and DoT, and then my mom went somewhere and my dad and I headed toward the On Location shop, but DoT distracted me, so I got a driver ticket and boarded. Well, with my dad watching and my mom started watching in a minute, this was a BAD DoT ride! I had discovered late last season is October that if you turned sharp enough, you could slide the rear of the car and do a skid-turn™, so I started doing that on nearly every turn, going first toward the outside and starting a far turn, then jerking left and skidding sideways, then straigtening out right before hitting the inside barrier. Well, I got off and my mom was standing there looking at me VERY nastily, an then chewed me out for doing that, because fromher angle, it looked like I had nearly hit one of the other cars behind me each skid-turn, but, really, I had plenty of room. SO I got chewed out some more, (mental note:never do DoT again unless I am alone.) SO We went to On Location, didn't find anything, and went to Emporium. My dad got a white Delirium hat, and I got a TR:TR Hat. Then, we left. If you ever see anyone doing skid-turns on DoT, it's probably me!
