  1. The-Snapper you have no idea what your talking about. Carowinds isn't that great at all. They have Borg which is fun, but nothing to write home about and then they have Top Gun which is by far their best coaster. Besides those two coasters it dosen't have any thing special at all. Hurler is rough Carolina Cyclone is old and a version of it can be found in about every park in the U.S Thunder Road is basically Racer, except a little smoother Carolina Gold Rushrusher is really boring Vortex is one of the old B&M stand ups and is not comfortable or exciting Flying Super Saturator is actually fun, but you have to want to get very wet Ricochet is decent but it is what it is, a mouse coaster and everything else has something that is close to a replica to something at PKI Plus Pki has a better collection of flats I went to PKI, PC, and PCW either this year or last year and out of the three I like PKI the best, then PCW very closely behind, and then PC, I haven't been to the other two so I can't rate them. The thing that makes PKI my favorite is their great woodies. Neither PC or PCW have a great woodie.
  2. Great America Guy you also forgot Vortex at PCW. It looks kind of like Volcano: The Blast Coaster since its built on a fake mountain, but its only suspended.
  3. Yea, that twist does look pretty wicked. It looks like it turns you so you are parallel with the ground which will be pretty cool. At first I wasn't too excited about this ride, but the more I see and hear about this ride the more I begin to think it will be an amazing ride, not too intense just very thrilling.
  4. This isn't really related to the topic but how in the heck did this thread surface again.
  5. People who are calling PKI Cedar Point's poor brother are ignorant, know your sources. According to the most recent Fortune 500 Viacom is 64th on the list with annual earnings of $26.585 billion dollars, Cedar Fair dosen't even make the list.
  6. ^He did? I didn't know Bill Gates had but I do think it would be sweet if Microsoft got a park, I always have. I mean he has more money than he knows what to do with so why not put some of that money into a kick a** theme park. With that kind of capital he could build whatever he wanted whenever he wanted.
  7. I would have to agree that WT is better than TR:TR, but WT isn't up all the time I hvae no clue what your talking about. I went to CP 5 times this year and it was only operating once, the other days I have no clue why it wasn't working but it never was, heck TTD seemed to operate more. Plus if you rode WT the first year you know that it dosen't operate to its full potential any more. The launch speed has been reduced because the towers shoke to much.
  8. ^Maybe it's the stair case part?
  9. ^Cool they must have just added them because I was looking for some a day or two ago and nothing was to be found. I figured they weren't going to do any but I guess they are, nice find.
  10. ^ Sure Busch Gardens may add a zoo kinda like back in the day and the landscaping would be wonderful but your not giving them enough credit. They have great rides like Montu, Sheikra, Kumba, Gwazi, Appolo's Chariot, and Alpengist plus the dark castle thing looks like ten times better themeing than anything at PKI. The only thing I could say bad about Busch is their choice in some of the names of the rides.
  11. I voted for Busch Gardens. I like what they do with parks. They theme their parks very nicely and the rides that they theme could stand by themselves without themeing, like Sheikra it would have been a great coaster unthemed, but themed it will be amazing. That new greatly themed castle ride also looks amazing plus they seem to add more coasters to their parks in shorter intervals of time than most other chains, especially chains that heavily theme their rides. That's why I picked Busch Gardens.
  12. That's my main complaint with MF though is the line length( besides the need of some more air time) but the last three times I've been to CP the line always is over 2 hours. I mean I always wait because it's my favorite steel, but in all honesty I would rather wait the 15 to 20 minutes for SOB and get to ride it 6 times instead of the one trip on MF. I don't know why your saying line length makes MF better, I personally hate lines and if I could would buy a theme park just for myself and friends so I wouldn't have to wait.
  13. I don't remember how much the skycoaster cost but park admission was 20 dollars. They also have some other stuff that you don't have to pay for like the world's tallest suspension bridge, a thing that takes you down into the 1,200 foot gorge, and an ariel tram that crosses the river, which sways if its windy so its kind of scary. The bridge was also cool because you could drive across it and the part you drove across was only wooden with gaps. It kind of gave you a creepy feeling looking through the cracks in the bridge. The park wasn't any thing major by any means but it was still a cool thing to do for a day.
  14. Personally, I don't like stand-ups. I find them painful and not really that exciting. If PKI were to buy a B&M a stand-up would be my very last choice.
  15. I went to Royal Gorge last summer but I decided I would post the trip now. I was on my family vacation and this year we were in Colorado Springs, Colorado, then we saw an add for Royal Gorge so we decided to go. We thought it was just a place to sight see but when we got there it also had a small amusement park. The park was nothing to get excited about, except for the scenery and the huge canyon, but then I saw it. It was a "sky coaster" just like PKI's Xtreme Skyflier, except for one thing. As you swung out after the initial drop you swung out over the canyon! I went on it and it was the scariest, most exciting ride I have ever been on, when you swing out over the 1,200 foot drop it is the most terrifing, yet exciting experience in the world. No ride has ever made me scream like that ride. So if your ever in Colorado Springs stop by Royal Gorge to ride the world's tallest skycoaster.
  16. FOF1996 it is widely rumored PKD is getting a coaster next year so its not really an assumption. Plus, it is also believed that Hypersonic will be removed in a year or two due to maintenence so considering thats one of there two best coasters they'll have to replace it with something.
  17. I there this summer. I liked it although out of the three major parks in Ohio it is my least favorite. I mean all of the rides are fun, but nothing is fantastic, except for I think its called Dominator which was really fun. I have to say though my favorite part of the park was the lack of people, compared to Cedar Point and PKI it looked like a ghost town so the waits were really short.
  18. For my ideal thrill ride it would be something long with lots of air. And instead of having lap restraints, it would have something that just secured your feet comfortably. Imagine as you go over a bunny hill your ejected from your seat, it feels like your going to fly out of the train but then your feet are caught. It would be the ultimate in extreme. Now I know its not possibly, probably break your legs, but if somehow it was possible it would be sweet. It would feel like you had no restraint and the air time would be unbelievable.
  19. If you don't ride wooden coasters at PKI your missing out on the best coasters they have in my opinion. I mean if you don't go on woodies then the only good coasters are Vortex, Face Off, and FOF. It dosen't make any sense to me that you would go to PKI and not ride the woodies.
  20. Well, today I was at Snow Trails so I don't know about Mad River. From Columbus each resort is about equal distance so I try to frequent both. Although I wasn't at Mad River today I'm sure the conditions are great with the all the cold they have made lots and the actual snow just added to their base. Snow Trails had all runs open to ski, so I'm sure Mad River does too.
  21. PKIBeast, could you show me a picture of a fly over. I mean I love Cedar Point and went there more this year than PKI, but it really dosen't seem like they have that much room, at least when your walking on the ground. If you had a picture to show I would like to see it cause I just don't know where all this room would be.
  22. I'll be skiing and snowboarding, just got my season pass today, the new snow was amazing considering Ohio usually never has fresh snow.
  23. They really don't have that much land in the actual park. I went there over 10 times this year and really they don't have that much space in the park itself. Now if they were to move the parking lot off the island and then shuttle you into the park they would have a fair amount of land considering the parking lot is large.
  24. Yea, if you look at Cedar Point the last part of the park that still has some room is in Frontier Town. If they add a coaster next year that will use up their largest piece of land left. I don't think they'll use up that land for a while, until they can aquire land somewhere else.
  25. " You People Would Complain About Getting Hung With A New Rope." Yes, I probably would complain if someone was trying to hang me. I don't think I would really care what type of rope it was.
