  1. This is true but i mean come on. I used to do the school annocements in high school. I didn't get paid anything for it plus none of the things i said were memorable. But I did memorize the lines, its not that hard, plus if you screw up you can just redo them its not like its live.
  2. Its cool that the pictures got mentioned.
  3. Yea, I didn't know that Santa Cruz got so many people. I guess this year they're installing a launch tower.
  4. I agree with everyone this thing looks amazing. Yeah, if Paramount wants to go with a themed ride something like this at least seems like it would be amazing.
  5. "I dony even what th think what it looked when it first opened" Huh???? I agree though that rollercoaster don't always bring in the most people. If any of you know what Santa Clara Beach Boardwalk looks like you'll know what I mean. It only has 2 small looking coaster if I remember right and both look like something you'd see at a fair. Besides that it has a log flume and maybe 3 or 4 flats. The most famous thing is a carosel. However, the scenery around the place is amazing.
  6. Yea, I agree with the above posts, an ariel view of any of the coasters and white water canyon would be sweet. It's cool that your doing this, thanks.
  7. I agree...and disagree with family man. Yes, both Beast and SOB are large but I also think that we will never get the volume of amazine coasters like Cedar Point. We are lacking of any type of hypercoaster and we don't even have a B&M, very few big parks lack a B&M.
  8. personaly i just think a knew movie for FOF would be nice. I know that the video goes with the whole them, but really theres only a UFO in there so you could have a lot of different stories to go with it. Even if they keep the story just an updated version would be cool, I mean the movie looks so fake and after having seen it a million times it kinda gets on my nerves.
  9. " It's just the G's acting on your legs because you're standing...all stand ups have this effect, some more than others." I know but Mantis is the worst I've ever been on. Now I have only been on three but it is by far the worst, plus I've heard from other people who have been on more stand ups than me that Mantis is the worst.
  10. "and sob's records...the only ride in the world guaranteed to break one of your bones each ride..one record i hope Cp never tries to get" Well I don't know about that. CP has Mantis and no matter how I try to ride that ride it is always the most painful coaster I've ever been on and its's not that I don't know how to ride stand ups because I never experience that kind of pain on Chang. So while Matis may not break bones it surely causes some major pain, like having a 100,000 pound man sit on your legs. By the way I do have to give CP some major credit for finaly getting a great flat besides power tower.
  11. " I know a lot of people that post on this web site think Pki is amazing but I challenge you to go out to other parks like Six Flags Great America and Holiday World and Dollywood because those parks are the best. Id trade Pki in for Dollywood anyday! I really would." Are you kidding me? I mean I'll give you Six Flags Great America the coasters there beat PKI's, no question. But Dollywood and Holiday World are both very small parks, each really only has two coasters. You say that we don't have any flats except Delerium to speak of, I wouldn't say Dollywood has any flats that are special. Now don't get me wrong both Dollywood and Holiday World are nice small amusement parks, but there is no comparing them to PKI.
  12. "No recorded breaking rides I wouldn't say that. PKI is one of the most underrated parks you can come across. I mean we will have 14 coasters this coming season only 2 behind CP." Last time I checked IJ:ST will be PKIs 13th coaster, unless I'm forgetting something. So next year we'll be three coasters behind Cedar Point.
  13. ^I agree PKI has over 700 acres of land and has only developed 300 some, so The Beast's trees are in no danger. Plus the area by FOF is pretty open so it would be much cheaper to expand in to than having to have all those trees removed. The only thing that I think would be cool was if they cut down some trees for a wooden coaster and then put the coaster on the spot where the trees were, this would probably save money and be cool since the trees for the coaster would have come right from where the coaster stood.
  14. If they don't retheme FOF to MTV Soundwave I could see FOF being rethemed to this movie. It wouldn't be that much of a stretch considering War of the Worlds looks a lot like the theme that is already applied to FOF, they might just revamp the theming and maybe add more, plus a new video would be much appreciated.
  15. I don't know the ride seems kind of boring to me. Sure, I mean it does take up only a little amount of space but the ride its self just seems so repetetive. Plus the brakes seem to slow it down every time it gets any momentum. I guess if your park had no room what so ever then this might be a ride you would add, but for just a little more room you could build a coaster with a lot more variety in elements and exitment.
  16. I agree with PKILifeGuard, for one to critize PKI's theming is absolutley ridiculous when you are comparing it to Cedar Points. I mean Cedar Point has no theming to speak of, they just jam a coaster in where ever they can. The only theming to even be seen is Disaster Transport and that is quite possibly the worst theming I have ever seen in my entire life, the theming is disjointed, makes no sence, has no purpose, and looks like they hired a 3rd grader to do the job. Now I do agree that their coasters are better than PKI's but thats it. That's all Cedar Point seems to focus on, so they better have good coasters. I mean some people say PKI has a lack of flat rides, look at Cedar Point they have nothing. Even if they get the Huss Frisbee they still need a ton more flats. Also, their kid areas and water parks pretty much stink. They are small and not really worth your while. Now don't get me wrong I like Cedar Point and think it's a great park, but to say that it's managed better than PKI is just an ignorant claim. PKI overall is much more well rounded than Cedar Point. PKI has an amazing kids area, a great water park, good coasters, and some great flats. Overall in my opinion PKI is run better because of its diversity and well roundedness, whereas Cedar Point just has coasters.
  17. The capacity of the coaster could vary greatly depending on the dispatch time between trains, but here is the approximate capacity of IJ:ST with these dispatch intervals... 30 sec- 1440pph 45 sec- 960pph 60 sec- 720pph
  18. I liked all the ideas except the CMT one. I hate country music (except Jonny Cash, cause he's sweet), now if they had a VH1 themed restaurant that would be my favorite. I don't know why they don't have the option of a Vh1 restaurant cause I believe that Viacom owns Vh1.
  19. There's not a whole lot of fun in the Eagles if you can't snap them RollerNut. Although they are still okay the snapping makes them so much better, so if the rumor is true and Carowinds dosen't allow snapping I don't think the Eagles would be that much fun. Also, when I was at Carowinds I found Top Gun: The Jet Coaster to be a lot more fun than BORG, I don't know a Vekoma flyer just dosen't compare to a B&M flyer. This whole post is basically :offtopic:
  20. If its not thrilling then what is the point? I mean i had fun on the flyers and found a good snap pretty thrilling.
  21. Well with the antiques and flyers being moved to make room for IJST, which would you rather have? I'd have to say although I loved the antiques and flyers, I still would rather have IJST, but if IJSt's theming goes down hill i think i'd rather have the flyers and antiques back
  22. i had to stand in line over an hour for sob while the people in front of me were making out like there was no tommorow. I'm not sure if it was funny, but it was surely interesting.
  23. I liked the MTV Soundwave idea a lot. I also liked the Mission Impossible show, it kind of reminded me of the Indiana Jones show that they have at Disney World. The concept that i would be most interested in was missing though... A hypercoaster themed to what ever they want, heck I would prefer a Mean Girls hypercoaster over any of those ideas. Oh well, maybe I'll just have to wait a couple more years
  24. No I've never been to BOF. Actually I haven't been to the park in almost ten years. I used to go to Kings Island all the time growing up but in 95 i moved to California for job reasons. I just moved back to Ohio around a month ago and i was hoping to get to the park before it closes for the season. So the whole park will basically be new to me.
  25. Robert do you remember when you went? Thanks everyone for all the information.
