  1. Player theres no way it was 2000 pph. If it was whoever figured the numbers couldn't have been older than 5. With 50 seats that means for 2000 pph there would need to be 40 cycles in an hour and if the cycle is as long as Delirium then it will be 2.5 minutes and 40*2.5=100 minutes which is well over an hour and a half and thats w/o loading people. And even a thousand people is impossible. That needs 20 cycles so 20*2.5=50 minutes. So that means that only 10 minutes would be spent in between 20 cycles. So in between each cycle would be 30 seconds, 15 to unload and 15 to load. Haha yea right impossible no way in he//. That is of course if the ride cycle is the same as Delirium and CP would be really stupid to shorten the ride cycle.
  2. I don't know. Everyone on here says that PKI is now all about themeing after their movies and that they aren't building big or fast any more. There are some discrepencies to this overall analysis though. 1st being Delirium which was built in 2002. It isn't themed and it isn't after any movie and it was the biggest, faster, tallest frisbee when opened. Then 2nd look at SOB it opened in 2000 which isn't that long ago at all. It isn't themed and isn't after a movie and it for sure was about height and speed. When it opened it was built to be and many enthusists thought it would be the greatest wooden coaster in the world. Although it fell short I think that Paramount overall isn't done with big rollercoasters. Look at the survery they had the flying tilt top gun coaster and the B&M invert Top Gun. I think that although right now they are for the most part focusing on themeing I think in a few years we will all be surprized with something big.
  3. Ha, I believe that the Adams Family is probably coming but seriously those details. 3min and 2sec not to sound mean but seriously for a ride not announced yet that seems way to precise. Besides if it is actually that long that would be a nice sized coaster. I never did see the concept survey but theres no way the whole ride is enclosed. I mean to enclose a ride that would have roughly 3,500 feet of track and still have themeing with it the building would be gigantic. If it truely is this long it won't be a dark ride like everyone thought and most will probably be outside. Not to mention that the only dive machine around with a ride time more then a minute or so is Sheikra and its 200ft tall, so a building over 20 stories tall would be huge not to mention very expensive. I'm guessing that if it is a B&M and is enclosed the ride time won't be any more then 2 minutes considering if it was 3 minutes and enclosed with themeing costs would probably be 30-40 million and I don't see Paramount shelling out that much, especially for a park that is what 3rd or 4th in attendence out of the five parks. But still all and all sounds like a cool ride no matter what the length.
  4. Well if the guest per hour thing is true then MaXair will be really short compared ot Delirium. They both seat the same amount of people during a cycle so either maXair is much shorter then Delirium or Cedar Point is disillusioned at how many people this thing can move.
  5. ^True, probably more just wishful thinking on my part. But hey never hurts to wish.
  6. I'd like to see a B&M. I love theming and I think it's great that PKI wants to theme rides but they can't half-ass it like they have appeared to do with IJ:ST. I want a coaster that can stand on its own and then add theming. If your going to do themeing it needs to be all out like IOA or how Golden Kingdom at SFGADV appears to be with Kingda Ka. I like themeing but Paramount dosen't seem to want to spend enough to go all out like Six Flags did with Kingda Ka, so if their not going to go full out and shell out the money I just want a good solid ride that a B&M would provide. Also for those of you who say a B&M will never come to PKI think about this. The most recent survey had Top Gun the B&M invert. PC & PGA already have one so that leaves PKI, PKD, PCW. Next year its rumored PKD is getting Adam's family (see other thread) so that leaves PKI and PCW in the near future. PCW already has a Top Gun invert by vekoma so its doubtful they'd get it. That would leave PKI to get a possible B&M invert, which if you say well we already have a top gun, it wouldn't be that hard to change the theme of the one we already have or change the theme of the B&M to like WOTW or something. Just a possibility to think about.
  7. ^Good point it could be considering it dosen't look large enough for a hyper but Adams family could work. Personally, although the Adam's family idea was interesting it has never really interested me too much, but thats probably because I never watched the Adams Family. Seems weird to theme a ride after something that was made decades ago that lots of younger people don't even know about.
  8. looks sweet to me. I'd trust Gravity Group knows what their doing considering they used to be part CCI which designed some of the greatest wooden coasters ever. I mean you don't question people that were involved in designing Raven, Ghost Rider, Legend, Boulder Bash, and Shivering Timbers to name a few.
  9. Well Gigglinggreenghost, if what your saying is true then PKD must be the first paramount park to be getting a hyper coaster by either intamin or b&m considering thats the only huge thing that we here have been wanting a long time.
  10. From what I have heard (and I don't know really anything and I'm not prentending to) but I have heard that Hypersonic is going to be removed very soon either before 2006 or 2007 season due to the fact that its repair and maintence is getting to be insane and the ride is just kind of falling apart. So I believe that PKD will get a new coaster next year because 1. They haven't gotten a new coaster since 2002 so they're probably due and 2. If Hypersonic (one of their bigger coasters) is removed they will need a new coaster to compensate for its lose.
  11. You might be a PKI addict if... You are a member of PKIC.
  12. ^He said mph but I think he was confused because its only 40mph so he probably meant kph
  13. With the whole exclusive deal thing I've heard about that before and although I wouldn't have minded seeing a flying dutchman at PKI, I think they were smart not putting one in. If you think about it PGA removed Stealth just to build on to a water park. I think that right there sums up the flying dutchman's failure; the removal of one just to build onto a water park. And with Lesourdsville Lake, I would love to see the Screachin' Eagle at PKI, its such a shame to see yet another coaster built by the great John A. Miller rot away when it could be put to great use somewhere else.
  14. I wonder what he means by "my knees will never be the same," that's a little scary to say the least, but overall he seemed to enjoy it although it is really short. But then again think about it what launched ride is long? TTD, KK, Wicked Twister and all its similar styles, FOF and all its similar styles, shuttle loops, Batman and Robin: The Chiller, hypersonic and its similar styles, Superman Ultimate Escape and its similar styles. Really when you get down to it all launched coasters are short and when you look at it the Incredible Hulk is probably the longest launched coaster, followed by Volcano:the Blast Coaster. I would be willing to say that when you compare IJ:ST to all the other launched coasters it is probably one of the longer duration launched coasters that there is believe it or not.
  15. With the whole high gas prices making PKI more crowded I find that hard to believe. Yea sure people living in the Cincinnati area may be more likely to go to PKI but your forgeting everyone else that is less likely to go to PKI. I live in Columbus so I won't be making the trip as much so that means in general people will come less from Columbus. Then you also have people that come from Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia all who are less likely to come so really I think that if any thing PKI wouldn't be as crowded.
  16. My worst wait at PKI was probably for FOF for about 2 hours but my worst wait ever was for Milinium Force which was about 3.5 hours
  17. Delirum Guy, I'm not FlightofFear but if you read what he is responding to I'm pretty sure he's talking about Hypersonic, which has been very costly and unreliable.
  18. ^Highly doubt you'll ever see a t-bar Intamin train on SOB, in fact you may never see one again unless they get the problems worked out with them. S:UE was closed for close to a year to replace them along with people falling out of them on a ride or two. Notice how KK has OSTR's while TTD has the t-bar. Intamin dosen't trust the t-bar any more and is building all their rides with OSTRs now it seems. So I highly doubt any park or ride, especially SOB will ever see an Inatmin t-bar; at least until they modify them to be safer.
  19. ^It's not a rainforest and nothing ever said it was. Its a deciduous forest which can also be protected. If you've ever been to California or Colorado or Utah or really anywhere outwest they have tons of national forests. They protect the forests because they are beautiful and are the habitat for thousands of animals. The United States dosen't have any rainforest, especially not in Ohio I mean come on think about it its way to cold.
  20. ^Although I'm not sure, like I said in another thread I think the posts were deleted yesterday because if you saw the site was having some problems, so I think lots of the posts yesterday were deleted because of these problems. I also had one deleted so its not just you.
  21. I gave it a high intensity. It has intense rides, but is more geared towards family so it wouldn't an extreme intensity, but yet it has rides like FOF, F/O, and SOB which are fairly intense so its more intense then intermediate.
  22. Italian Chef, it wasn't just your post, it was a lot of posts. I think they got deleted cause this morning when I got on the home page was weird as explained in the other thread. I think these problems were what deleted your post, because I had one deleted two and it didn't have anything bad in it either. So ZosoBeast whats this special effect? The tunnel is supposed to be a sewer isn't it. I sure hope they don't simulate the smell of crap or dump fecal matter on you as the effect cause that would just ruin the entire ride. Also CoasterRZ, I didn't know that the Department of Agriculture inspects the rides. Why in the heck would it be the job of the Agricultural Department to inspect rides, dosen't exactly seem up their ally, I mean diseased cows yes; roller coaster inspectors, I just don't see it.
  23. Buckeye, if you hate PKI so much then why do you bother signing up for and then posting on a PKI fansite. If you really hate PKI that much, and I have no problem if you do, why waste your time on a fansite of the "oh so amazing crap hole of a park." Are you that insecure that you have to get on a fansite and make fun of the park just to make yourself feel better. I have no problem if you hate PKI or IJ:ST, I also personally think the money towards IJ:ST could have been much better spent but I think PKI is cool and thats why I post on a PKI fansite. And I guess I need to get out of Cincinnatti considering I live in Columbus. I think what really needs to happen is you need to get off your computer and get out of your house and experience something called a life.
  24. ^According to rcdb.com AE goes 35 miles per hour, so IJ:ST will actually go a little faster
  25. ^Yes, I'm not disagreeing with you in any way, if it starts out with the same speed as its traveling now it will travel quicker through the rest of the course. I'm just saying it will require more energy to get it up to the same speed it is traveling at right now with passengers because of the added weight. I'm assuming their launching it at 40mph right now so yes they will have to increase the boost energy to get the launch up to 40 with passengers.
