  1. ^I'd disagree, although Paramount is often out of touch with what we want they aren't that stupid. I mean there's freaking foot prints leading you to The Beast and last year they advertised it as "PKI home of the legendary Beast." Believe me Paramount knows how popular the ride is and it won't be going any where for a long time; it still offers in my opinion one of if not the best night rides of any coaster out there. As far as expansion PKI hasn't used half their land as has been discussed countless times. They have plenty of room to expand without ever needing to touch The Beast. And still if you want to go along the lines of only being known for a record that still implies that Top Thrill Dragster should be removed. I mean less face it, TTD is only known because of the records it held. So do you think Cedar Point should start the process of tearing down TTD?
  2. ^Haha, I'd have to agree with you 100% there, I thought the same thing when I read his post. I mean really if we remove the "crappy" Beast might as well remove Millenium Force. I mean its records have been broken for a while and it dosen't have nearly any air time compared to lots of coasters I've been on. I mean geez whats its point. Better get rid of Vortex, Raptor, Mantis, Gemini, Magnum, Texas Giant, Steel Phantom, Desperado, and all others who have had their records broken, seriously some one needs to wise up and destroy them considering they don't hold records any more so theres obviously no point to them what so ever. I mean I've been saying it for years, "unless it holds a record tear it down." Really now that I think about it the only roller coasters that should be standing right now are SOB, Beast, Kingda Ka, Colossus, Alpengiest, Riddler's Revenge and really nothing else considering these are just about the only coasters that hold records. Seriously get rid of volcano, S:ROS, Raven, Legend, Boulder Bash, Thunder Head, Top Gun, Incredible Hulk, they don't hold any records they are completley trash. I mean and what are they thinking building rides like IJ:ST it didn't even hold any records when it opened, I guess they better start tearing it down right now too.
  3. Yes, well like I said the excessive trim breaks on Mean Streak now greatly reduce the amount of shuffle. If you remember riding Mean Streak before all the trims you'll probably remember how much louder and rougher it was then now. Personally, I liked it a lot more back in the day because it at least delivered an exciting ride, I didn't really mind the roughness just like I really don't mind SOB, but now with all the trims Mean Streak may be smoother but it is really boring. There's some more information about the "Dinn Shuffle" here at ultimaterollercoaster.com in their history section, it's just a little from the top of the page. I've also seen some other sites and a couple of books that mention the "Dinn Shuffle" but I can't remember what they were.
  4. Yes, its true the trains on SOB don't track like they should. A coaster train is supposed to glide along the tracks not bounce up and down on it like the SOB trains do. I'm not sure if the "jackhammer" effect is do to bad trains or the track itself. It could very well be the track itself if its center line wasn't designed properly but I tend to agree with most and think it is the trains. It isn't ture though that SOB is the only coaster that "shuffles" along the track instead of rolling. Another prime example of this is Mean Streak at Cedar Point which was built by the Dinn Corpoation. It suffers from the effect known as the "Dinn Shuffle" where the trains don't run on the track and jump around creating a very rough ride which is why Mean Streak now is riduculously trim breaked to try and lessen the "shuffle" effect. I know Mean Streak's problem results from the actual track design itself and not the trains. I wonder which it is with SOB.
  5. Plus the fact that it is credited as the roller coaster that single handedly started the 2nd golden age of roller coasters, so with that kind of presitge I don't see it going any where.
  6. See like I said, this proves the point of what I said earlier. When you visit a park once or twice it just always seems nicer because your not used to it so for one you don't tend to nitpick like you do when you know the place like the back of your hand. Also with ride experiences you often find the ride at the park your visiting better because its a new experience so therefore it seems better then the coaster at your home park that you've ridden over 50 times, and the landscaping and employees I explained in a couple posts up.
  7. ^I'd have to agree with him here. I know whenever I visit another park besides my home parks of PKI or CP the workers for the most part always seem nice and quick. I think this perception comes about because your only visiting for one day so everyone just seems nice and the park seems beautiful becuase your not used to it. When you attend PKI over 10 times a year your bound to run into some bad employees for the simple reason that you've been so many times so you've had a ton of chances to run into a bad employee so you probably will. This then gives the bad perception. I believe if we attended PC as much as PKI we would run into bad employees at both places, but because your just visiting PC once its much more unlikely to run into one of the bad employees. With the land scape its a very obvious reason and its ignorant to compare the two at this point. Both PC and PKD are in the south, therefore its much warmer, they have longer growing seasons and can plant flowers much earlier then PKI. Like Marketexpress said Ohio is still having frosts this time of year. Just last week with wind chill it was 30 degrees in Columbus, that dosen't happen in North Carolina or Virginia. I'd wait till at least mid june to compare the flowers and such.
  8. Yes, I know it seats what 40 people. I just meant smaller then Delirium, but yes compared to most frisbees its large. It's a Huss Frisbee XL isn't it?
  9. I woulda liked to see a classic Huss flat like a Fly Away (essentially sky lab except your in a flying position, or a Huss boster even though the one I've been on kinda made me sick it was still cool, best way to describe it like a tea cups and scrambler mixed together and it flips you so its disorienting but its ok as long as you haven't eaten right before.
  10. I can see you don't like Tomb Raider, why's it so uncomfortable? I've never had the chance to ride a Zamperela Flier. The one time I went to PCW I enjoyed it alot. It dosen't really have that great of a selection of coasters, but the flat selection is absoluetly amazing. With Psyclone (a small frisbee), Sledge Hammer (a huss jump2), Cliffhanger (a small top spin), Jet Scream (like a pirate ship except it goes around 360 degrees), drop zone, and Shockwave (a cool spin type ride even though not sure who its made by) PCW has by far the best flat selection of any Paramount Park I've been to and I would even say one of the best selections period because although they don't have near the numbers of flats as some parks the flats they do have are amazing.
  11. Yea, that shouldn't be too crowded. The only thing you have to watch out for with CP in May are those physics days that they have. As long as that Friday isn't a physics day the crowds should be fine. Ok never mind they have a physics day that friday the 19th but the weekend is clear so like I said before crowds shouldn't be too bad this early in the year.
  12. Well it kinda has to be pay to play considering it only has five trampolines therefore the capacity is horrible making it have to be pay to play. That dome is ugly though, I mean I understand its purpose but still the original euro-bungees look much better.
  13. Sounds cool. Now I haven't heard anyone say if there are any head choppers on this ride or not. I know in some pictures that I've seen they have the road signs above the track but I'm not sure if they are positioned right to give the head chop effect or not.
  14. Does any one know when the third train is supposed to arrive?

    2006 Rumors

Its not. Its just joking around that the way it is is very much like a wild mouse coaster with the sharp turns and not very tall and as I already posted in some other thread it is very similar to these new era of wild mouse coasters built by Maurer Söhne. Pic If you look at the pictures you can tell that these new generation mouse coasters and IJ:ST look fairly similar with overbanked turns and such.
  16. ^I'd agree with you there, I'm just saying that what Six Flags does to works of art like beemers by placing them in such hideous locations is just wrong. Also that theme is kind of interesting I guess, haha, what is it enraged soccer mom trying to escape the crowded Kroger parking lot by any means possible.
  17. I like the description. It may be a little exagerated but it definately makes me want to get to the park and ride IJ:ST more then before.
  18. Yes I would love for Six Flags to take over PKI then we could get a parking lot coaster! Take a look at Scream! Pic 1 Pic 2 or Medusa Pic 1 Man, PKI would sure be lucky to get coasters like that. I mean you can still see the old lines of the parking lot! How absolutely beautiful! The themeing is amazing! On a serious note, sure they add beemers but look at what they do to them; those two coasters have to be the ugliest things ever. This is how it would be if they bought PKI everything would be half-a$$ed, well maybe not even, probably only quarter-a$$ed. The only thing Six Flags has ever done that has impressed me is that new Golden Kingdom at SFGADV.

    2006 Rumors

PGA- needs to get something bigger and better, they have had two coasters removed in the past couple years and need something big to compensate. So bad choice in my opinion. PKI- sounds like a fun little ride but from concepts it seemed like a wild mouse and we already got a mouse this year in the form of IJ:ST. I'd much rather see an additon of several kiddy flats like PC did and then maybe a huge huss flat and a couple of other smaller classic flats, kind of like Dollywood with the flat package and then an addition of a big coaster in '07. PKD- sounds like the best of them all especially if it turns out to be a beemer. Only thing is is I think it will be smaller, less themed, slower, and not all indoors like everyone is expecting but still all in all seems like the best out of all the rumored additons. PC- Sounds like a great idea and overall smart decision considering it brought more people in for PKI so it should hopefully do the same for PC. PCW-same as PC.
  20. Space Mountain is okay, not nearly as fun as a Rockin' Roller coaster or FOF. I rode it in the lights once too which is fairly rare so it was a neat experience, but overall the ride only goes around 30mph so its hardly what I'd call fast.
  21. No, Oldiesman TR:TR is a Huss Giant Top Spin, no doubt about it. If you took away the ugly box you would see. It is the only Giant Top Spin in the world to my knowledge.
  22. ^Haha, not to be mean but TR:TR is a Giant Huss Top Spin.
  23. No Player I read your logic and well its not logical. 30 seconds in between cycles isn't gonna happen. If you really think half a minute in between cycles is gonna happen you really have no clue at all, especially because the point is anal about safety so they take a while to check. You act like the point has efficient employees, if you ever paid attention to anything the one thing that most people say they like more about PKI then CP is the employees. Hate to burst your bubble. I can see 800 on maXair compaired to 600 on Delirium but in no way will it reach 1,000. Just like FOF runs about 700pph even though its supposed to run alot more.
  24. ^Well considering no one rides it and its really short. But I'm not making fun of corkscrew I enjoy it except for the one bunny hill which has a tendency to throw you into your seat roughly. Also, its corkscrews do look cool over the midway
  25. While your on Disaster Transport, I will be on FOF While your on Cedar Creak Mine Ride, I will be on Adventure Express While your on Corkscrew, I will be on Vortex While your on Scrambler, I will be on TR:TR While your on Blue Streak, I will be on Racer I mean come on you can't set up something like that its stupid because its the worst way to compare. You can make it in favor of which ever park you want every time.
