I just read the rest of the pages, and learned about the KI website/wing coaster thing, and all I can say is I'm done with this whole mess. If it really is a wing coaster, I'm cool with that. I'd rather see that as opposed to a giga coaster. If It's an invert, I'm all for it. If it's Little Mary Sunshine's Pink Teacups on a track, then so be it. Bottom line is I'm not sure what to think or believe, and I feel a bit stupid about all the stuff I've said in this thread up to now...which basically amounts to crap and makes me feel like an even bigger imbecile than I already knew I was. So even though it's nothing personal against anyone in here, I really don't believe anyone or anything about this ride anymore. Everything will come out Thursday, and then that will be that. G'night, everybody. This groundhog is going back into his hole and will be lurking until Friday morning. P.S....By the way, I just want to encourage everyone to dismiss anything and everything I've said previously here in this thread. I can't go back and delete all the stuff I've posted, but I've just come to realize I really don't know crap. I completely apologize to any and all that I may have irked or otherwise insulted in any way. If I discredited your ideas, please forgive me. If I bashed you in any way, I'm sorry.

EDIT: Disregard all the following. I posted it before I read anything about the wingcoaster stuff on the KI website. Wow, you guys have been busy posting in the few hours I took a break. I have to get caught up, so I'm just going to respond to these posts real fast and read the rest later tonight. I suppose as long as KI wasn't involved in submitting any fake plans, nothing would happen to them. As for the City of Mason....if it had fake blueprints on hand, I'd guess that's a different matter that would need to be investigated. And the NEWS outlets would surely be embarrassed if they aired news reports using faulty information that was supposed to be official. Yes it would. Of course it would. You would need extensive knowledge of footers, serial numbers, B&M design, supports, and probably months of time to draw that by hand... Your statement is incredibly ignorant, those blueprints are 100% REAL... Lmao! Speaking of incredibly ignorant...I never said the blueprints were fake...I said the blueprints were not in question. I also said the YouTube guy is either spot on, kinda right or not at all with his drawing....if he did draw it, which he may not have. You don't have to get so hateful and defensive about it, just relax and take a deep breath.. Keep Calm and wait until this Thursday @ 10:00 pm in Action Zone. I'm confused. You're basically calling him ignorant in return, so why did you "Like" his comment if you don't agree with it? Hmmmm.....I'm talking to myself, and you're hugging a coaster support. I guess we both have problems. Why fork over the money to see them this close to the announcement date?
-
*sigh* Where is Terp when I need him to help me explain this stuff? Signed, Secondson - who has other things to do this afternoon besides banging my head against a brick wall trying to make people understand that the NEWS outlets themselves made public records requests from the City of Mason. They aren't relying on the YouTube video.
-
The City of Mason could easily be involved if KI really wanted them to. Honestly, by looking at the blue prints, I do not understand how this coaster can be a world recorded breaker for something other than a record like: "Longest Inverted Coaster in the world". The layout really disappoints me and I am hoping its a fake. You have totally and completely missed my point. The REAL blueprints are on file with the City of Mason. As such, they are part of the compendium of public records which are accessible by news outlets. If a news outlet requested a copy of those public records, they would receive a copy of the REAL blueprints. I highly HIGHLY doubt the City of Mason is going to involve itself in a fraud just for the sake of perpetuating a ruse by KI toward the public. We're not talking about specs for some top-secret military project involving a never before utlized technology or design for a bomb. We're talking about an amusement park attraction.
-
It seems to me if the blueprints are fake in some way, then that would imply there are other people involved in the whole ruse besides just KI. I mean, wouldn't the City of Mason be involved, too? Why would they allow KI to file fake documents for a real project? After all, the blueprints are public record, of which news outlets were able to obtain copies. If the City of Mason had copies of the REAL blueprints, wouldn't those be public record, too? So why would KI be so adamant about keeping this all a huge secret? It seems like more trouble than it would be worth. It's one thing to mess around with the public's perception about something, but I'd think it was something totally different when it comes to legal documents.

For a discussion about who's coming, see the meet-up thread: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27900-aug-8-announcement-meet-up The chili wars aren't exactly new here. The most recent threads dedicated to them, for everyone's reference: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/25715-what-chili-restaurant-do-you-prefer http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/14307-skyline-v-gold-star Oh, cool. Thanks! I didn't see them...or if I did, I forgot about them. But that happens when you get to be my age. Just think what it's like for poor Terp.
-
North or West? Which one do you hope for? Thank you. Amazing how you still learn something new everyday, even at my age. And to think Terp is older than me! *OUCH* Hey, cut it out....I was only joking. That was Terp slapping me with a wet noodle. Welcome to the site. Jump in and get your feet wet. But stay away from bumpy roads. They will give you flat tires, and affect your spelling. That's a really awesome name. You should suggest that to KI for their next coaster. The first time I've disagreed with the wise and all knowing O'Terpy. Skyline is where it's at. Oh dear, the chili wars have come to KIC. And since it has started, Gold Star RULES! Fort Washington had a chili restaurant?? I didn't realize they were that concerned about it. I'd have thought pork was more their thing back then. Whoda thunk it. I think you mean Camp Washington.

Let me be the first to welcome you to KIC, and offer a bit of advice: Reading is your friend. A little research goes a long way. Yes, there are things you don't know. I'm not trying to sound snotty, nor am I trying to insult you, but all your questions can be answered by simply reading through the previous pages of this forum, and by simply doing a bit of research before posting.

A bit of research goes a long way.

Nah, he's just nitpicking. You guys need to be slapped with wet noodles.

Still on that high horse, I see I don't ride horses. I almost got pooped on by one when I was a kid. And I edited my post. For a moment my undies were snagged in a....well, let's just say I edited my post.
-
*sigh* Again, unless it's necessary to make your point, please refrain from quoting long posts which contain multiple photos. That is to say, if you quote it, edit out the photos. Thanks! Wow. It's gonna go at least 150 mph, huh?
-
Yes.What you want to believe is an article, is simply a press release. As seen here: http://www.mediacollege.com/journalism/press-release/format.html I believed you would have easily understood why I "nitpicked" without going into great detail, my apologies for that. If CP has used press releases in the past that referenced new attractions that break a park "World Record", there is no reason to believe it would change with a new KI attraction that is drawing much attention. I'm not bashing. I'm humbly advising. You think I'm that smart? Boy, you really don't know me. I didn't even know Glenda was actually Glinda, who was actually Galinda. But thank you for the clarification. It's still an article. signed, Secondson....the eternal smart alec. As for this being a world record-breaking attraction, we're simply going to have to agree to disagree about whether the attraction will be a record breaker or if the record will merely apply to the park itself. We'll find out Thursday, and I'm perfectly happy waiting until then to find out. Need to go chow down.

No, just so many members who would like for KIC to maintain its good standing with the park. Would you rather the admins come down on us again? Wow, that's a cool spud!
-
That's not my call to make. I know you've been very curious about this new coaster, but you know the saying: Curiosity killed the cat. Just don't want you, anyone else, or KIC, to get in trouble. It's only 4 days until the announcement, so at this point it's probably best for everyone to just sit back and be patient. It won't be much longer until we know what it is.
-
^Oooooooh, that's a good one. Reminds me of another favorite: chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting.
-
Candy: Hershey's Special Dark Desert: The Painted Desert in NE Arizona. Dessert: It's a toss up between brownies, and LaRosa's Italian Creme Cake.

Kat, I know you're new to the site, but KIC recently had a MAJOR issue which involved the subject of people trespassing where they don't belong. It caused some trouble for the site, and no one here wants that to happen again. I know I'm not the forum police or anything, but I just want to issue a friendly reminder to people - everyone - that they should NOT be trespassing in order to get photos. She didn't trespass. She said she took them from her car on the public drive. She didn't say she remained in the car. She just said she pulled in the lot. Some of those areas in the photos are in the back area of the property on the side of the building, and they're over 500' away from the parking lot which is in front of the office. I'll concede she may have used a good zoom lense. I'm not bashing. I'm just humbly advising.

Hey guys, just a helpful suggestion: Unless it's necessary to make your point, please refrain from quoting long posts which contain multiple photos. http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/coasters/new02/cp_wickedtwister/cp_wicked_pr.shtml Ugh....semantics. I'm sorry...really...but I don't see the connection. All I see in the article is a reference to how CP would be the only park in the world with 3 coasters over 200'. I suppose, yes, that was a world record for a park, but maybe I'm missing something in what you guys are saying. I mean, at that time, WT was announced to be the world's tallest and fastest twisting impulse coaster....ie. a world record-breaking attraction. That is not an article, but the press release from CP themselves. You're going to nitpick the word I used in reference to the link you posted? Really? I call things like that "articles". If you understood what I meant, I got my point across. I'm not part of the literary intelligentsia, so is there anything else you want to correct me on? Was that you I saw in the "Whatnot" classroom? I was studying "This and That" in the lab right across the hall. Small world!
-
I've never seen the show, so I wouldn't have recognized your joke. But now that you've cleared that up, it was funny. I get it now. You get similar results no matter which KIC member you type in. I'm curious why you think that, given all signs point to Banshee and CF got trademark licensing for it. Unless Banshee will be a new ride in the future at another park? Though that still doesn't explain all the theming that points towards the name Banshee Trademarks are cheap So the silver comb with gray hair was just a ruse? That would be a little hard to do since the actual layout isn't on a map anywhere. To try and measure it using the scale on the blueprint would be a bit tedious since all we have thus far is a video image of it. Who are you talking to?
-
?Anyone? 752 feet according to this site. http://www.daftlogic.com/sandbox-google-maps-find-altitude.htm Thanks! Darn, I thought I was onto something when I saw "Ride Manufactures elevation 755ft MSL" on the blueprints. Thanks for looking. You probably were onto something...whatever it is you're talking about. The elevation posted on the blueprints is correct...755ft. It varies at different points at that particular location. The inside of the oval where Thunder Alley stood was 752', but the outside edge of the oval was 757'.

Whoever claimed we weren't posting enough tonight... *coughjcgoble3cough* ...sure is getting his fill now. I can't keep up with you guys. If you were to draw an overhead layout of a coaster, what would the loop look like? Here's a picture of the loops on Vortex. Notice the "Z" shape. Okay, Glenda. "It's Galinda, with a Ga." Actually, we're both wrong. It's Glinda, spelled with an "i", but no "Ga". From Wiki's page on 'Wicked' : "In an attempt to impress Fiyero, Galinda announces that she will change her name to "Glinda" in honor of Doctor Dillamond's persistent mispronunciation. Fiyero fails to notice and leaves." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicked_%28musical%29 ACT 1, paragraph 6 I'm talking about Glinda the Good Witch from "The Wizard of Oz". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wizard_of_Oz_(1939_film) Anything else?
