TR, photos possible. 10/8/2011 Fast Lane Saves The Day
standbyme replied to Ki Man's topic in Trip Reports
Zach, I did read your trip report the first day you posted it...but since you hinted that photos might be coming I thought I would wait to comment on it...and then just lost track of it. Anyway, I just want to say thanks for taking the time to post this! (And after over 350 views and only 2 replies I don't blame you for not bothering posting any photos...which is a shame knowing what great photos that you take. ) -
I only went through Tombstone Territory once...but it was by far my favorite of the evening...and most of that was because of the amazing fog on/in the bridge. (Sorry Sam...although you did a great job on my second trip through Slaughter House!) I must admit that a lot of the decor went over my head also...the bed frames...the bikes?
-
Before we started using our Fright Lane pass we waited at least 30 minutes for Cornstalkers...plus Tombstone Territory was backed up WAY past The Crypt so that it was almost at The Beast's entrance.

Drumroll....a fact that I am both ashamed to admit....and still VERY bitter about...I broke down and purchased the FRIGHT Lane passes while I was there on Saturday. Do I feel like I got my money's worth at $30.00 each, possibly. Do I feel like it made our Saturday night at the park at least enjoyable since it was SO crowded, yes. Did I feel sleazy using them, yes. I would still NEVER EVER buy a Fast Lane pass...I would just schedule our trip on a less busy day....which is not really possible during The Haunt. (My family always does the whole 3 day weekend to make it worth our drive.) If anyone at the park reads this they may be laughing to themselves that they "broke me"...and they did...but I hope they also keep in mind that they may have gained some more money from me...but in the process they also lost some of the goodwill that I have towards the park.

Interesting...further proof that no matter what kind of a job a person does for a living there is always something they know that the general public wouldn't guess. I learned an interesting "secret" from an employee while I was at the park this weekend...which bumper cars are (supposedly) the fastest...but i'm not sharing my info.
-
Are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet.... (I can relate. ) It looks like everyone had a great time! I am curious...on the bumper boats, was it that warm there that it wasn't a problem getting wet?
-
Very nice, thanks for taking the time to do this trip report! It's sounds like you had a great time. I feel sorry for that never ending rainy day...I once had one like that at Kings Island so I can relate.
-
Nice idea for a trip report...and as far as I can remember you are the first to do one on this site like this! It's very personable, thanks for sharing.

You guys are missing the TRULY best kept secret of the park lately....what IS the limit of Fast Lane/Fright Lane passes the park will sell each day. (Avatar loves my posts!)

^^Actually he is...he didn't say he was the 1,000th post...he said he was the 1,000th reply...which he is. (Is this awkward?) Edit: coaster_junky beat me to it!

Funniest Thing You've Seen Happen At Halloween Haunt
standbyme replied to 185139's topic in Kings Island
But as Daniel Tosh mentioned in a recent episode, does ANYONE actually read the Terms And Condtions before checking the box?! -
Hypothetical...if it were completely safe to ride, just uncomfortable...the park could keep it around and only open it during Halloween Haunt every year themed as something like "Journey Into Hell"...then people would think it was cool because it was accurate.
-
At least you are a man of your word!
-
A both accurate and sad statement.

Am I the only one who is let down by Haunt?
standbyme replied to 4runneradam's topic in Kings Island
This will probably come off as insulting...but what has gone wrong with our world when someone is upset that they didn't get all the blood and profanity that they felt was coming to them? -
Stricker's Grove Customer Appreciation Day 2011
standbyme replied to jcgoble3's topic in Trip Reports
Nice trip report...and I think that your gift of your tickets was a very kind act. It's random things like that that stay with kids..."Remember that one time when that man gave me all those tickets!" -
Or we don't know what the "limit" is. That could mean 3 or it could mean 3,000. I am aware of that...but whatever the number is that the park set it at...which they allude is so limited that they could sell out...does that mean that they are not selling as well as they expected...or the number isn't THAT limited? I honestly don't think the number of passes the park sells should rise along with the size of the crowd because that does affect the value of the Fright Pass...and I also believe that on slow days the park is not lowering the amount sold...but that could be the cynic in me.
-
Or at the very least provoking posts for some of us!
-
Perhaps he fell for the park's line that they were very limited and after seeing the huge crowd he thought the Fright Lane passes ship HAD to have sailed by then. (I know that's what I would have thought...of course this is coming from someone who prepaid both of the last 2 Winterfest events in advance because I fell for the line that it might sell out also! ) On a totally serious/trying to be unbiased here comment....what can we deduce from the fact that the park didn't sell the "very limited amount" of Fright Passes on what has been rumored to have been one of their busiest days ever? Is it: A. The passes are not selling well? or B. The passes are far from limited?

Old Kings Island and Cedar Point Photos
standbyme replied to flightoffear1996's topic in Kings Island
flightoffear1996, I am also very sorry for you loss. -
Thank you for what appears to be a well intentioned post. By posting that you yourself would have purchased a Fright Lane pass had you known how busy it was going to be we know that you are not just someone who is anti-Fast Lane...which makes you criticisms "hold more weight". This post certainly makes me think*... *Which is what one of our more selective posters wants us to do anyway!

Or if it only honors PAST employees...Snoopy.

Unrealsk8er, thanks for sharing your experience. Like I mentioned...I don't care about the food, it is secondary when I go to the haunt meals...which means that unlike you, they couldn't disappoint me if they tried!
