Nice trip report. I liked this photo the best: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb246/a...gsIsland147.jpg I'm glad you posted some pictures of Fright Feast...I will have to decide whether to do it again this year or not...last year was a "classy" funeral home look...this year it appears they opted for the (boring) "all you need is gore to be scary" theme.

The train photo from Don is amazing! This evening -
Very nice...and interesting. The only thing (up until now) that White Water River ever meant to me was that I always drove down White River Parkway to get to Market Square Arena to go to a concert back in the day. Has there ever been a confirmed crocodile siting?

Here it is, a boring Saturday…so I have been searching the web for some odder Kings Island things…and I figured I would share a find of something that I hadn’t personally seen in years. These photos are all of the dismantling of Kenton Cove’s Keelboat Canal (Boo!) and the early construction of Tomb Raider:The Ride…they are from the long defunct PKIGuide.com site. These photos were a little tricky to find…and since these are not my photos I do not want to just post the actual photos here in my post…I will just post the direct links to them to make your life and mine easier than me trying to explain how to get to them. I HAVE posted the names of the 2 people who are responsible for these VERY interesting photos. Looking at some of these at this point in time is even more interesting right now because you can see areas where Diamondback is now being constructed. I hope you enjoy them. Ooooh, for the FIRST time, I have found something that I disagree with The Interpreter about! I do not know how old you are…but I can not remember a time when there wasn’t some kind of screaming on Viking Fury…that is all I can ever remember. I was even around for the several years of the “Tastes Great…Less Filling” time period. (In hindsight I find it odd that even the young children knew that jingle enough to yell it…not a good thing.) I have rode the occasional Viking Fury ride with a “boring” quiet crowd…and that is exactly how they look when they get off…bored…they look like they are thinking “is that all this ride is”. Believe it or not, but Viking Fury is on my list of top 10 rides at the park…but only because of the USUAL interaction between everyone. (The interaction of screaming seems to make it more of a community activity.) Don’t get me wrong, I know that Viking Fury as a ride is actually pretty lame…but when I am on it with a “good” crowd it can’t be beat. You wanna know my “You know your old test”…it’s not hard. In my opinion, you are “officially” old when you don’t like snow anymore.

Kings Island Brews Up All-New Kids’ Halloween Event

Could the name change just be because of how "awkward" it was sometimes to hear "Nick Or Treat"? -
The best line I have read on here in a while! It reminds me of my sister when we were younger, when we were in the pool she just wanted to float around on a raft and NOT be splashed at all...it never made any sense to me why she even wanted to get in. (As a side note, it was my Aunt's pool and so she would try to make all of us kids happy...so there were "no splash" time periods...boy those were fun.)

Very nice trip report...the slide show was fun to watch. Looking at the picture of that tire was scary...you should feel very lucky...I would have been sick to my stomach after I saw it! I'm glad you are all are safe.

Instead of having everyone sign up, wouldn't it just be easier to just wait until Halloween Haunt and have everyone in the "conga line" known as Trail of Terror just line dance their way through it instead?! -
Politics & religion have nothing on Halloween Haunt on this site. It never ceases to amaze me how discussing this event can become so heated… it’s always a good read. Whenever this time rolls around I think of what Linus says in The Great Pumpkin…”There are 3 things in life I have learned never to discuss, Religion, politics & The Great Pumpkin”…Linus was a wise boy. What I enjoy about the HH topics is the passion in which people debate…myself included. Halloween Haunt is the one time of the year where I feel at least equal with most of the people on this board…the majority of the posters here know the park and the rides 10 times better than I do…but Halloween has always been my favorite holiday and I think I know Halloween just as well as anyone here…or at least what I believe Halloween should be. Another thing I enjoy about the HH topics is that they manage to even drag most of the Moderators into them to give their opinion…not something that happens with most other subjects. Here’s to a VERY lively Halloween Season! You summed up my thoughts exactly.

The above graph is how I have approached the Halloween Haunt/Fearfest press releases for the last 3 or so years. The “Park hype“…what the park claims it will be like, “Reality“…what it usually turns out to be (in my opinion) and “My Expectations“…I ALWAYS try and set them as low as I can so that I am not disappointed in the end. I am sorry if this comes off as only negative, but since I do praise the park in the majority of my posts I feel I have the right to be honest even if it’s not favorable. (I am the first one that hopes that the park even comes close to the hype…and will admit it if they do…just like I did when Diamondback was finally revealed.)

Workers Begin Transforming Kings Island Into Halloween Haunt!
standbyme replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I was kind of hoping that they would have a new "foot of the fountain" display...unless they add something different it looks like it will almost be the same as last year. My family always takes a group shot there and it's nice to have the pictures look different from year to year. As a side note, I know they probably sunk a lot of money into that skull, so it's not surprising that they are using it again...i'm just a little dissapointed.
