I've been to Kings Island more over the past 4 years than I have my whole life, and haven't spent a whole lot of time at the water park, so my next visit in July I'm planning on spending most of the day at Boomerang bay.
-
I wish they'd call it Water Works again. I still call it Water Works to this day. I never understood why Paramount choose to rename it, it was fine as it was. My first visit to the park was the year Water Works was added so calling it "Boomerang Bay" is hard.

Last time I went was in '08 and I thought it was till pretty good, but then again I don't go to a whole lot of water parks so I don't have much to compare it too. I hear Holiday World's Waterpark is awesome!

KENTUCKY KINGDOM CLOSED
Cormaster replied to PKIDelirium's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yeah I don't know why of all things a park would want 2 stand ups, especially from the same company. Granted Chang is quite a bit more intense, but really Chang is more of a revision of Iron Wolf, so with Chang's presense, Iron Wolf almost has no purpose. I think I read somewhere that Iron Wolf was B&M's first coaster. -
I think they should call the area "no fly zone" since Firehawk and Flight of Fear seem to have constant problems and high wait times! Yuck, worst part of the park!

Just one question: Is Iron Wolf Still standing? Isn't it also a B&M Standup coaster? Why do you need 2 B&M Stand ups in one park? -
My Bright Idea for what to do with Son of Beast
Cormaster replied to benred23's topic in Coming Attractions
I wouldn't believe the words of a regular KI park employee. You gotta figure 90% of them are just college kids looking for summer work, they are just there to get paid, what do they know? I mean in all honestly I've worked at lowes for 7 years going on 8 years and I can't tell you jack about the company! What do I care? They are paying me thats all I Care about. Point is what goes on in corporate stays in corporate! -
yeah and I imagine after the gigantic investment that Diamondback was, the park isn't spending that much on a coaster for quite some time. Thats why I see a B&M invert as the next coaster. Not saying they are "cheap" by they are cheaper than hypers, and dramatically cheaper than the 20 second ride terracoasters!
-
Sadly I think the "30 seconds" is counting loading and unloading. Yeah I can see it being quicker than 10 seconds.
-
I don't want a coaster of that style anyway. Hey its an odd looking hill... and thats about it! TTD duration listing on RCDB: 30 seconds. Now granted I've never rode TTD or Kingda ka and I'm sure they are fun, but at 30 seconds they are over before they started... its basically an over glorified Drop Tower!

I wonder how people vandalize wikipedia so easily. One day me and my friends were drunk and tried to get "sellout" to redirect from Nickelback and everytime we tried one of Wiki's staff caught us.

No Kidding, The Vortex could def use some more modern trains. Though it won't help the rough transitions that Arrow mega loopers tend to have, I could deal with seats that promote more space and less head banging!

I work a 3rd shift job and I got woke up from the text from KI central at the time of the annoucement. I read the text said "neat" and went back to sleep. Nothing special. Then when I finally got up I got on KI's website and checked it out, including the live construction, the 3d Renderings, etc.

I'd love to have a coaster in my backyard, like say The Vortex, but in my house? Meh nothing I'd want in the park would fit in my little 950 sq ft apartment. Course I don't have a backyard either so I guess this poll is no good to me.
-
Well whatever, but its not too late for Kings Island to get a one.
-
Not trying to be rude, just saying, its in Cali, not Ohio. But you do have a point.
-
Don't know, don't care. The point is its not at Kings Island
-
In 2007 someone edited Kings Islands wikipedia page saying "In 2009 Kings Island will receive a B&M Hyper coaster in the Rivertown section of the park". The comment had no sources either. Not saying this rumor by anymeans is true, but it might not be entirely false either. EDIT: Ok who vandalized WIkipedia and put "also new for 2011 will include a new name, The Flying Turd". I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my chair.

If you ask me, I imagine the reason why only Busch has dive machines in the US is because they are probably seen by Six Flags and Cedar Fair as "trend" coasters just like stand ups, and they'd rather have something more proven like inverts or Hypers. I know i was upset when I found out Diamondback was going to be a hyper instead of a dive machine, but in hindsight and after riding, I can honestly say I'm glad we got a hyper instead of a Dive, though to be fair I've never ridden a Dive Machine either. Anyway yeah I'm pulling for an Invert more than anything, its something I've always wanted KI to get and they never did throughout the whole Paramount era. I'm not sure why either... did they not see the popularity in this type of coaster? did they not see how Batman - the Ride was so good at Great America that they built several clones of it at other Six Flags parks? Did they not see the great reviews Raptor at Cedar Point got? Having a good invert is almost a staple at parks these days, and Kings Island needs one!
-
If we can't have a invert, a dive machine or a floorless would be cool. And yes I know there are "floorless diving machines" i'm meaning something more like Dominator that is actually designed from the ground up to be a floorless and not a diving machine. On that note, I kinda wish they would of given us dominator instead of Firehawk.

I love Flight of Fear but I hardly ever ride it because it ALWAYS Seems to have a long wait! And a long wait means I have to watch the stupid video... Typically the key to getting on it fast is to either go on a hot day in August, or a sunday in October, or hit it up very first thing when you enter the park. Unfortunatly its usually not on my list of priorities when I enter the park. X-Base is the worst area of the park when it comes to wait. Between Firehawks pathetic inefficient loading system, and FoF's long waits I usually just skip the section all together when I go to the park.

I just want a B&M invert. I don't want a wooden coaster, not any kind. We have one of the best wooden coasters in the world already, and they tried to top it once and look how that turned out? The Racer and The Beast are good enough to fill the quota on wooden coasters for the park. I want a B&M Invert. Honestly its ridiculous that Paramount never brought us one! I can't tell you how dissapointed I was when I first saw Face Off in 1998. I never read much of a description of it, I just thought it was a full circuit invert and I was like "Finally we got one", then I show up and see that little thing in front of the park. I think my first words were "I feel ripped off". Though over time I actually grew to like Face Off/Invertigo, I'd still like to see a full circuit one built. I would prefer B&M over a Vekoma SLC. Honestly I'm thinking the best place for it is on the land where Son of Beast sits right now. I think it would be a great edition to Action Zone, and unlike Sonny, it wouldn't be broke down or closed due to an incident all the time. They could use the loading queue from Son of Beast for it!

My Bright Idea for what to do with Son of Beast
Cormaster replied to benred23's topic in Coming Attractions
I'm kinda thinking my bright idea for the Son of The Beast now is knock it down, Use part of the land and the Queue for a nice B&M Invert! -
I have to say I still love The Beast and its the same as i always remember it. Been riding The Beast since 1989, only difference now is you don't have to wait an hour to get on it! Anyone remember The Beast concession stand? I remember that being open, as it was necissary due to long waits. Anyway the lines dieing down has to be the fact their are so many more coasters nowadays. My first visit for instance was still "fear the four" when it was The Racer, The Beast, Vortex and King Cobra! I remember souvenir cups that had that on it.

I have yet to go to the park when they aren't doing assigned seating. Even on days where business is light. Do they have days where they aren't assigning seats?
