you're right, if i was given the option of making $1,000,000 or $0, i'd pick the latter because it would cause less people to complain.

i understand that nearly everyone has something they dislike about the park, the part about the "different taste among the members" i completely agree with. my post was directed more towards the ones who feel the need to lash out against the park for anything they do (ones that are using "i hate the park for doing *insert reason here*" and "Kings Island couldn't have made a more worse decision, ect...), these are the people that get the most attention and give the site the bad wrap some people have with the site. as stated above in the post, i was referring mainly to the few members who seem to have nothing positive to say about the park.

at the time of this posting 19 people have voted that they think that the Dinosaurs Alive exhibit either "sucks" or they "dislike" the decision. since this is a blind poll we don't have any idea who voted what, but i'm shocked that so many members on here are getting angry with the park because they added something that doesn't appeal to them. this behavior from the members of this site almost makes me embarrassed to say that i'm apart of the KICentral universe, for us to not even know that there was going to be a second "new for 2011" attraction at the park a little over a week ago, we surely do look like we're spoiled little brats griping and complaining about Kings Island thinking that a FAMILY attraction would go over at a FAMILY park. i think it's time that some of us around here move on from their diapers to their big girl panties and get over the fact that Kings Island's job isn't to just please yourself.

i think you need to take a second look at the two pictures, the mount by the tail seems in the same position, with the "skin" reacting the same way in both photos, but the mount on the upper torso is in two different spots in the two pictures. the underarm mount (not at ki picture) is holding the weight in a more awkward position than the Kings Island mount, causing the "skin" to buckle.

in the past, the day of the announcement a speculation thread like this one is closed, then ryan will have a new front page story and forward everyone to discuss there.

you're right, a thirty foot tall animatronic (sp?) dinosaur isn't big at all.

i voted "no- i have my favorite side and i always ride it." lucky for me, however, it happens to be the red racer side.

...and that's why Kings Island is a THEME/AMUSEMENT park, not a THRILL park. i don't understand how someone can be angry with the park when less than a week ago we didn't even know there was going to be something extra, then they tease something new and some gripe because it isn't the world's tallest and most thrilling *insert attraction here.*

i, personally, love(d) Son of Beast and truly hope that one day it will be up and running again. sure the ride was a little rough, but in my eyes that came with the territory of going in excess of 80 mph on a non-prefabricated track/ structure.

they didn't "just make" Planet Snoopy, it was just re-themed. it's also not the world's largest kids area, it's "the world's best" kids area. i could see it being something like avatar brought up. the thing is the park has so many different loose ends right now (well, actually that's just because of enthusiast' posts) that some of us can't think straight.

king cobra's trains are no longer at the park and haven't been for quite a while.

i would just like to point out, even though i linked the promo video for Son of Beast that i do NOT see this being an overhaul of Son of Beast. i thought that it might have been a possibility when the thread was first started, but now i don't see it being such a great possibility. don't get me wrong, i love Son of Beast and hope to see it up and running again, i just don't see this being it's "time."

improvements, the first loop on a roller coaster was a failure, but that didn't stop them from trying a second time. who knows, maybe Cedar Fair has been studying six flags great adventure to see how their safari is so successful and was trying to think of parks they own that could do well with it and thought, oh Kings Island used to have a safari type ride, maybe we could reopen it. i'm not dead set on any of the ideas right now, like maglados said, "why not guess at what it is and pass some time," and at this time, this is what makes the most sense to me.

we didn't even know about it four days ago and you want it to be a thrill ride or you'll be disappointed? at least they're doing something a little extra (if for this year).

where was that brought up in the discussion thread? anyway, i don't see it being that, i see it being either dino island II in action theater or a wildlife habitat.
