  1. oh, i wouldn't mind a poll, what are the options? crypt replacement bbw replacement other although it would be a tough decision for me. lol, you got that right, people get Son of Beast and scooby doo/ beastie/ fairly odd coaster/ ??? confused all the time, and they're on completely different sides of the park
  2. a company wouldn't care if they were asked to build a ride that traveled the roof tops of international street, had a helix wrapping around the Eiffel Tower, and ended with a splashdown into the international street fountains. as long as they were being paid. as for stealing the thunder from The Beast, we all though that nothing would ever go into the woods beside The Beast and look how close Diamondback's hammerhead turn is to The Beast's final helix.
  3. i put a box around the part of the ravine that Diamondback takes up, and this mystery coaster would most certainly fit there, i'm amazed at how two different pieces of land, one in kings mills, ohio and the other in williamsburg, virginia can look this close to being the same. p.s. sorry for the two toned box edit: if this ride was for Kings Island and was located here; if this ride's station began around where the crypt is you could have alot of track before the lift because of the shear fact that you are so high above the base of the lift.
  4. i will give you that this looks really close to computer graphic, but i'm still not going to throw out bbw's location.
  5. ^where is that at? edit: nevermind, i can make out the crypt and The Beast. but isn't that where Diamondback sets?
  6. flying eagles WAS not the worst ride ever

  7. it would be best to call or e-mail the park about this question.
  8. the louisville zoo also has it, or at least they did over the summer when i went, but they don't have the moving seats like Kings Island does, but on the plus side they do have scent, so you could smell the pickle i guess.
  9. oh, i took it as "wait, those are movies?" i'll edit my post.
  10. although it hurts a little, it's even more fun to ride them in the rain, imo, but i wouldn't want to do that on a daily basis, lol.
  11. it's not just you, the only reason i ride maverick is for the dark tunnel launch and the last over-banked turn, and the over-banked turn is only because i think it looks awesome. but anyway, i would wait up to two and a half hours for my favorite ride, but only if the other rides at that park had that long of lines too. on a side note, last summer when i went to disney world, my family and i waited about two and a half hours just to ride peter pan's magical flight and after waiting in that line and riding, i realized that it wasn't as good as the time i rode it when i was three.
  12. i'm guessing that they were filmed paramount based alot of their attractions on things dealing with their company, including movies. drop zone congo face/off top gun edit: coney island rocks, sorry i misread your post.
  13. speaking of backlot, all models are said to have three launches. first launch from station launch at helicopter ??? what is the third launch or is that a launch when "busting threw the billboard"?
  14. i'm most certain i'm not the only thing keeping him from posting.
  15. i'm sorry, but i still don't see where any of those parts of the topo. are at Kings Island, could you please point out, in pictures, where they are?
  16. Since someone thinks I am not commenting, I'll just say it again. It sure does look like familiar terrain.... sorry terp, i'll stop assuming that you're finished posting in a topic.
  17. new photo from gci http://greatcoastersinterns.com/?page_id=125
  18. actually no, i'm not defending the bbw area because i don't want Son of Beast gone, i'm defending it because to me, and also others, the area bbw sets on looks closer to the land depicted in the computer animation.
  19. ^i believe that Son of Beast did test a little bit towards the end of last season.
  20. a good amount of coasters end up setting on land that's topo. doesn't look like what it did when it's project started. look at Diamondback for example, or even Firehawk. anyway, the land to start out with looks much closer, imo, to the computer animation at the big bad wolf site, but i have been wrong many, many times before and with saying that, i'm not going to rule out what your ideas are, especially since nothing has been released other than the computer model. as for the myth busted comment earlier, that was me trying to be humorous, but i guess it didn't work, but i still believe that the bbw site is a closer match than Son of Beast's *i've also noticed that terpy hasn't been commenting anymore in this thread, i think that one of the two of us is on the right track.
  21. your far right box could easily be where the "town" scene is on bbw, and as for the middle box, all it would take would be a little bit of dirt moving to have that area more flattened at the base of the valley. even though it's not as clear as in the animation, if you look back at the first screen shot you posted of the bbw area, you can see a slight jut in the side of the hill on the south side of the lift. i still feel that the computer graphic looks more like this area than Son of Beast's.
  22. thank you jackson: i boxed around the rise at the bbw location and where to the right of the "mountain" there is the elevation change. edit: i added the computer animation, which is looking from around the same view as what jackson's image is showing.
  23. jackson, could you post a screen shot of the bbw site looking east at it?
  24. the two areas i boxed is the part i'm referring to as "the mountain" and you can see where from that point the two areas are nearly identical, if in your mind you rotate them to be at the same angle.: credit goes to jackson for screen shot of bbw location.
