  1. We'd be getting a Golden Lasso ride this year. xD
  2. KI would leaps and bounds be better... CP really doesn't even have a kids "area" it's a couple smaller pockets of kid/family rides spread out across the park. They don't even have a dark ride etc... Def KI. seriously, don't waste their time at CP unless you guys can do both. If it has to be one or the other KI all day long. A lot of people from this area even had more fun at Ki as kids than Disney... just because the lines were much more reasonable and their seem to be more than just dark rides. I remember disney being shows and stuff, which the scale was inspiring, but I appreciate it a lot more as I'm older. As a kid... I just wanted to ride some rides.
  3. This thread reminded me that I really need to go get a face tattoo...
  4. That could help quite a bit with employment... I bet they could also even use it to eliminate some of their cost to have dorms.
  5. Beast was the smoothest that I've ever ridden in this past season. The back seats of the cars can be rougher especially towards the back of the train, but that's normal. They are doing a magnificent job with it.
  6. All these crew photos are giving me the feels for my old days...
  7. That mountain and water feature is so great... I really hope I can make it to CW someday.
  8. Gave you the upvote on reddit as well. Good read.
  9. CP just has longer lines on average. People will take days off work and travel there, and that makes up for the park not being in a metropolitan area. It especially brings attendance up on M-F. Even on a day that TTD was relative walk on like 10 mins... I've still had to wait 30-40 for Maverick. KI just has a better spread on the busy days that peak on the weekends, and even then the crowd is spread around the park rather well. This is something CP is trying hard to fix, since the crowds for a long time were pretty much all in line for TTD/MF/Maverick.
  10. "Enforcing" means ****ing guests off... sometimes it's best to just let them enjoy their romper room. KI also does not have crowds anywhere near Disney. The queues are kind of a none issue... Cedar Point would benefit much more from this discussion, if they aren't doing it there KI will not get it at all. KI was also able to do this to an extent when it worked with themeing, TR;TR for example by dividing the line into the Antechamber (Door Room) and the Pre-Show (movie room). But it's just not needed at a seasonal park that has locals and few tourists.
  11. KIs safari area was still like that at least as of 08. It's just so overgrown you can't see it on the satellite photos now. There are still a couple buildings out there and the TALL fencing is there in parts.
  12. Yeah I've been all over back there and wasn't sure which pond/lake it was referring to. Very cool to see it laid out like that! I was even thinking maybe it was the pond by the campground, but it seems to fit that photoshop just fine. The road going from the old SOB station out past FOF totally feels like you're driving through the Savannah.
  13. Would there be a way to super impose the map from the report showing the incident location with a satellite photo of the current park?
  14. There is a video of someone of the stuck empty train on youtube that someone took while riding the regular train.
  15. The fires are pretty crazy... Heres a pic and a video from local news directly showing the thread topic. http://ktla.com/2017/12/05/firefighters-respond-to-25-acre-brush-fire-in-santa-clarita-as-2-other-blazes-continue-to-rage/
  16. I do, but they didn't really start expanding until 84. Then rides like voyage, legend, and raven will call for a much bigger maintenance presence than the flatrides they had before then.
  17. People have pointed out that the international restaurant is going to be open to the public again right?
  18. They are still rather new to the hardpark life... Gotta have a support staff to support big rides. They'll get there eventually, but they can't grow quicker than their foundation. Voyage is already probably in a place it wouldn't be if it wasn't such a massive ride.
  19. Carnevil is always a staple... it's just so awesome. Slaughterhouse is great, madame fatal's is also great. Then I like Urgent Scare quite a bit to. I like the 3rdish room that has a lot of hospital beds that have sheets over them. Really builds things up when you don't know which things are an actor or a dummy. I also enjoyed board to death, it's just unique and the theme is fun. Field of Screams is also fun. Blackout has been my least favorite... I'm sure for a lot of people being in darkness is fun. But for me I like seeing more things.
  20. They aren't going to bring outside IPs into the park. Paramount did it because it was free and promoted movies as well. I'm fine with a paramount guy running the park because I think we will see an even stronger guest service angle and just less overall like a blown up regional park.
  21. HW and KK are simply making the most of their own market, and people are not going to be as out to drive 3+ hours to go to Kings Island if there are attractions a lot closer. HW is unique because in it's area it's all that there is to do there. That's why the waterpark is so successful. Rural cities and areas like that don't have hardly any money, let alone more liberal use of that money to build even like a simple city ran pool/waterpark.
  22. They gut the buildings to get any of the valuable scrap out a lot of the time, it depends on if the value is worth the work to get it out but when you don't care what condition something is in when you take it apart it can be done rather quickly.. Also sometimes hazmat stuff needs to be removed (old insulation, light bulbs, lead paint etc.)
  23. 2 days into October and they've already been putting out all this Merch... But I guess it will help with marketing.
  24. It would actually fit well there and create a nice visual "gate" as you enter Coney. Would fit very well anywhere in Coney though. I'm hoping we get it, and it's put somewhere to make it part of Oktoberfest and they theme it to a Giant Pretzel.
  25. Yeah, and even if it's a kid we are all adults. Someone coming back to join their party after running to the bathroom or meeting up isn't going to be the end of the world. Sure it's rude on their behalf. But unless it's just like blatantly trying to get away with something with a group of people I just let it go by. My day is to important to me to let it be ruined by a person or two that likely will just fill a single seat anyway. I'm not sure why so many *enthusiasts* get a stick up their butt about it. I've seen some people get so irate about this. It doesn't even upset me at all unless it's obvious they are just trying to skip the line. Letting your kid catch up to you in line or a friend isn't that big of a deal to me at all and it will make no noticeable difference in how long I wait in line. Now when some parents drop their kid off at the door of Chipotle and then I'm standing in line behind them assuming it's a short line and then the parents come marching in after parking with 6 other kids as well as themselves, Yeah I've been upset about that before but that's not what is going on at KI.
