They likely updated radio systems and didn't need the antenna anymore.

It also depends on what room you slow down in. Some rooms don't have any targets at all while others have a ton. If they just slowed it down for a few seconds for a kid that ran the wrong way or something it might not have been slowed much.

Gold pass benefits for other CF parks?
TheRickster replied to TheRickster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Awesome, any idea if we get free parking? -
GP really doesn't care or even know when a park is celebrating an anniversary. Unless you pull a full on hardcore marketing plan like what Disney is known for (Turning the castle into a cake etc.) It's not gonna be worth any special investment over another year aside from some small scale things.

If you aren't able to ride a spinning ride or a coaster, there really isn't too much left to install that a could think of. I'd be curious to do a poll and see how many people even know viking fury is at the park lol.
-
I was a supervisor over the ride for two of my years at the park. 9/10 times the slow option is used and is plenty of time for disabled people to board. We only stopped it when they still weren't on and it was getting to the very last second. Your score lines up to those that would be during a slowed period. A lot of times on the ride you don't even notice it being slowed down depending on what point and motion your car is making.
-
They probably slowed the ride for a disabled guest boarding.

I'd agree they do need more family rides, however there are a lot more than just 3. 48" Adventure Express Backlot Stunt Coaster Dodgem Zephyr 46" Congo Falls White Water Canyon 42" Shake, Rattle & Roll 40" Viking Fury 36" Scrambler No Height Requirements Boo Blaster (no minimum height requirement) Eiffel Tower (no minimum height requirement) K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad (no minimum height requirement) Monster (no minimum height requirement) This is without going into Planet Snoopy. Unfortunately most rides that will be higher in capacity and marketable are going to be a higher height limit. It's just the way things are these days with safety standards.

The park should start leveling out and expanding into the Dinosaurs Alive area if they are done with X-Base. Or possibly an extension of it. But that's a long term plan that would likely see lots of budget changes unless they are willing to drop some serious money to pull it off. But with how crowded the park has been getting, it might be time to spread the park out some more. Other than that we definitely need some more flat rides, but some that get good capacity and are unique. Delirium was a great example of this.

The Most Ridiculous Thing a Ride Operator has told you.

Couldn't have got some from skyline? I'm also at a loss as to what sweet spicy pepper sauce you're talking about lol -
Earlier this spring I still had a Stella VM saved... But I finally cleared out a lot of my KI era voicemails trying to give that part of my life a fresh start. I'll have to see if I kept that one... >_>

Ultimate Stunt Show Coming to Kings Island
TheRickster replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I didn't mind the dog show at all... It wasn't like mind blowing, but we are talking about a seasonal amusement parks how. I'm happy with anything that's not just another themed singing show. -
^ I'm surprised you're ok with BSC and not FOF. But I think FOFs restraints have to go down a bit further to accommodate the belt. Other than that they are the same dimensions and design.
-
There are also machine tolerances so not ever click will be in the exact same spot and not every seatbelt the exact same length. It will be close, but how you're sitting and how your water weight/size change throughout the day all can have a big impact on fitting if you're right on the line.

It's a life changing experience. I'm 30 and I can say that my time spent working at the park was the best time of my life. Myself and a few of my friends only left because of life taking us different ways. If anyone ever has any questions feel free to PM me and I'll be glad to answer what I can.

That entrance is done with how they've built up around it.
-
It depends on if you know how to position your legs to get on The Beast or not... For someone who doesn't have a lot of experience and jsut sits down and tries to pull the bar down, they have a better chance at getting 1 click on MT than 2 on beast. But if they have some guidance/help they should be able to get on beast before MT.

Yeah, I remember the time I rode Meanstreak I actually liked it... I remember thinking IDK why everyone acts like this ride is so rough. Then people on another forum have acted like I'm crazy for the description of voyage lol.
-
I really didn't want to make a second trip to HW so soon, but I might have to go in the fall when it's cooler. A lot of people recently are acting like Voyage was super rough. It would probably be one of my top coasters if it wasn't for that. I REALLY want to love it.

Looks like one of my old friends, Stella.

^ All kids of craziness happens when you're there enough.

looks like there is going to be a small break in storms... so I might head down and try to hit up a couple things.

How are they today?
