Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare New in 2026
calakapepe replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Welp... I only briefly thought it couldve been AI until I saw some small details that werent out of place like the poster above the audience showing maestro and the video version showing another ghoul peaking from behind the curtain.. however.. there is one detail that I do not understand what it is. I see the other notes have swirls, or eyes, or wings... but I dont understand why this sharp symbol has an eye out by itself nor what the other markings are. But i figured if this is the only thing, it's probably not AI.. good to have it confirmed I suppose -

Now thats quite a workout.. glad flasglights shouldnt require all that movement... side note.. shouldnt the flashlight guns be in the shape of smart phones? That's what we mostly use nowadays or we have much smaller leds haha -
Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare New in 2026

Sally can be pretty good.. or pretty okay. Just depends. Let's hope Six Flags pumped this project with more money than expected for a retheme than has happened at some parks over the years. Overall despite my pipedream.. im happy this is here and I expect the following: -Maestro design, while not as terrifying, will grow on me. - The capacity won't return to original phantom theatre levels.. seriously wth, paramount? Haga - there will be animatronics.. but not for every character and every instance.. - there will be at least some screens - more people (esp boo blaster fans) will be happy to be able to shoot -I will be happy that we still have a way to escape the heat! .... side note, how do we know for sure its going to use the exact Boo Blasters layout? Obviously that's probable but.. i think it could be economical if they just reverse the direction hehe -

Exactly.. lol we have to temper expectations. The design looks cool but very different.. and I was hoping for more details shown that warranted a video versus a photo but... Im happy this theme is back as a KI original. Just gotta hope its up to par :p time will tell... well.. Kings Island will tell -
I uh.. surely hope there's something for me.. i wonderr what happened *cough*

Edit. Error

I think your suspicion is right. Its going to use the crypt building (will it use the height?) ((And Hawaiian may be correct to edit)) Maybe the maestro will be more rivertown centric rather than european western classical music.. i mean the wild west still had theatres and definitely still derived from our european ancestors.. it could work. Time will tell.. well KI will

Not to step on BryanJay.. But just in case you dont use X: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNnqL7SO-9B/?igsh=OTRyOTRnNGkyYjRq I dont expect it to be quite as ambitious as OG with as many robots.. but I hope its at least a respectable effort & that the effects they do choose to commit to.. that they'll be maintained. I do not expect but would love... capacity to return to what it originally was. Either way.. im most pumped that boo blasters isnt leaving without being replaced

What will replace Boo Blasters On Boo Hill?
calakapepe replied to kingsislandfan1972's topic in KI Polls
One thing for sure.. we cant be getting something in The Vortex, tomb raider, and the boo blaster locations the same year. And also.. whatever eventually comes.. I have a fear it will feel budget. (In some small way) Id hope we get the capacity of our original phantom theatre.. id love that IP to come back also but.. no matter what theme.. Please. Be. Good. -
Kings Island General Discussion 2025

Agree. Mr. Six wouldve been a much more exciting and effective character to appeal people.. heck.. I would volunteer to be Mr.Six! I need a reason to dance around again :p i think fun-sultant isnt the most interesting thing.. BUT that doesnt matter too much to me since Im going to the parks already anyways. ----------- I didnt see a specific thread for this.. but Queen City Coaster (there's no more stunting, Ive declared :p) ... having no sound, no visuals, and no fire is... as the kids say... kinda lame, dawg. If they dont want the original look, and somehow loved spending money they dont need to (which I know sometimes can happen).. id love for the walls to make it seem like you're inside the great american ballpark (without the great american brand)... and the fire... can come out of the smoke stack that the fireworks come from.. That or we arrive in skyline and the tunnel has the real skyline kitchen's smells pumped into the tunnel XD Or- or none of that.. thats fine too.. I guess. -
Kings Island General Discussion 2025

So I guess queen city coaster truly might not have fire return. Just watched the webcams and no fire. Im planning to go this weekend. Time will tell. Thanks for the shade structure photo! -
Agree 100%. Pedestals got a lot of attention.. but for me its simple. The current fountains arent girthy enough. Thicker, equally as tall fountains are really impressive looking, sounding, and feeling. The fountains are simply fine. But not great. Not worth it to change it now though

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026

More indoor anything honestly. More ways to escape the heat, the rain, the cold lol -

KI fans are hungry for more -
Man, Beastie was the best theme. Why anyone ever even considered doing that is wild. Cohesive IP kids area or not. Riding beastie made me excited to finally ride the big boy one. And it existed just fine alongside the mixture of hannah barbera while nickelodeon was also there. Beastie had the mystery inc van to see photos out of lol

There WAS a very short period that Kings Island had 2 hyper coasters also (but we all knew that)

Kings Island General Discussion 2025
calakapepe replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
Havent been the biggest fan of the entrance in years. Maybe some of the recent ideas here would be better.. but ultimately we simply need something that isnt the "temporary" gates. Looks messy and I have to cross traffic awkwardly before the security point and also after anyways. The entrance is centralized. It could work better to have multiple entrances and multiple exits. Worse for staffing/ security but better guest experience.. but as a guest.. i like a good guest experience.. and I think first impressions are important. I would vote entrances on the both sides of the admissions gate & exit from the center.. or if you must have only one flow.. keep it the way it is, but make the exit on the south side (guest relations side). We currently exit on the north side and cross into people that just got in. -- Excited for the season regardless but I tuned in after a hiatus and people are talking about my biggest passion in life.. crowdflow -
I think Hershey's was removed before i visited in 2017. but I 'd be surprised if i liked it cause i love the aspect of doing that motion right near the floor.. the same reason i strongly prefer the left side of Thunderbird & XFlight

Good to know! My favorite is when you're spinning but before the arms lift you in the air. Its like gliding over water like scrambler but you have no neck strain :p Me and my sister just asked a fellow guest that was boarding how long and they were like 40 min maybe lol Wait what? is that true? I wouldntve noticed as I "spun" so that I always faced Banshee (for the laughs.. which is counter clockwise i think) and then we went clockwise to match the ride's rotation... least thats how I thought we did it until you made that post XD

i thought they were just moved to the entrance of the final tunnel but... i didn't get a good look

update to my impressions. I really appreciate the amount of work. but i definitely wish it were feasible to get on-board audio or many many speakers at the mid-ride dialogue spots. Yesterday I got to hear a couple sentences and imagining if I couldve heard everything, it made it feel akin to the universal adventures feels like a lot of effort went into the dialogue and you cant always hear it depending on where you get told to sit & sometimes you dont hear it at all. However! despite that one tomb guy not pumping his arms for the past month.. I was able to find at least 2 spikes that actually came out and retracted. - and no.. I'm not expecting on-board audio. Just wishing it were in the cards or easier to pull off

Orion is literally my favorite coaster at Kings Island right now. Its duration leaves some to be desired... but so does The Bat.. and half the coasters at Hershey.. and many other places; it happens sometimes. But, the ride style is very much my style. I know, very specific
