March 27? Oh, I thought it was earlier in March. Thanks Terpy!
-
Let's not forget, Carowinds opens to the public in about 2.5 months. Diamondback was finished in Mid February, and opened in Mid April. That's about 2 months. This coaster's right on schedule.

Best paint job it's had in years! Kidding aside, that's an amazing photo. Racer really is one of the hidden gems at Kings Island, and to see a wonderful picture like that just made my heart soar. Wow, what an artistic ride with such a magnificent backdrop, Boy do I miss my park!

Drove by KI yesterday, unfortunately it's still standing. At least, what you can see of it from the highway.

GREAT AMERICA (CA): What now?

Wake me up when this ownership is over. Let's spin the wheel and see who owns us next!

Is the bottom left corner screwed up? Yes. Is the park screwed up? Hardly. But the opportunity is there, now more then ever. I hope to god they either improve my park or leave it the heck alone.

Why keep it a secret if there was nothing to hide.

So, what happened immediately after the Apollo took control, you might ask? Apollo installed its own management team. Replacing the two co-CEO's who had spoken of "partnering" with Apollo, and of whom Apollo had said they looked forward to "partnering" with. In fact, the announcement was made THE LAST DAY of trading of the old Claire's stock. We're screwed.

Ohhhhh lord that looks BEAUTIFUL.

If Cedar Fair management does in fact leave (Which, at this point, anything is possible in this awful mess), then I'd be scared. But, if they were in fact ready to get the boot, why would they make such a big deal about it being the same? 3 newspapets have reported it being same old same old, and Kinzel has said he will remain there. I can understand them not telling us if they were going to go, but why would they tell the complete opposite of the truth? Wouldn't that be setting up for a PR nightmare?
-
So, now Terpy's saying that even though Dick Kinzel says he will remain at the helm, he is clearly saying he, and current management with him, will not control the parks anymore? For Christs sake, this is too much! How hard is it for them to tell the truth?
-
As true as that is, there's quite a big difference between a closed ride and the future of the park ownership. I trust them on this one.
-
So, give it to me straight, Terp, how bad is it? Will current management remain the current management? Will new management be introduced or replaced? In short: Will we see any dramatic changes at my park? Or, as HTCO put it, are we "Facked"?
-
It all depends. If this is the company I think it is, they will buy the park, add many visible upgrades (Rides, Park look, etc) and sell it for more. Then our next owner could be Private Management, or Six Flags. I fear our next owner more then this one.
-
I have two questions: 1. Will I still be able to buy passes to Kings Island and Cedar Point? 2. When I go to said parks, will they be any different at all? I guess it comes down to, will current management remain, or will they manage things for us?

I had a mini-panic attack on Top Thrill Dragster the first time I rode it. That, Millennium Force, and Drop Tower are the only rides to ever do that to me. The ride happens so fast, one second your sitting there, the next your goes twice the legal speed limit, the entire park flashing by, the next your above the clouds, the next your looking straight down, the next your slowing to a stop. It's all so fast that the ride's like a blur the first couple times you do it. But that's what makes you want to ride more. It's an amazing experience, and takes a while for your body to even assimilate all that just went on. The time your spent up so high is so short it's not much time to fear it. But trust me, you'll love it. It's like nothing else on Earth....or, at least, nothing else on Earth that's at least OPEN some of the time!

I'm just looking forward to being with my friends again. It really sucks not being able to talk coaster to anyone unless it's at school and it's "No, Diamondback does not have a loop."
-
It's meh to me. I liked the old one better. This one does not like my iPod Touch, it makes it extremely hard to navigate on an iTouch.

You need to get out of Ohio. Even if you stay in Ohio, though, it's hard to say a majority of woodies have rough spots. Beast and Racer and Mean Streak, I'll give ya those. But Blue Streak is very smooth. Teddy Bear is really smooth. Tornado is surprisingly smooth. And then you leave the state, and you start to ride things like Thunderhead, Kentucky Rumbler, and (going from what others say) Viper, Great American Scream Machine, Legend, Raven. Terpy said it best around here somewhere. "Given the proper and due mainenance, there is no reason any wooden roller coaster should be any less smooth then a steel" or something like that.
