It's Dick Kinzel. I'm sure what Sean Hannity says is of very little importance, the fact that it's Hannity is good enough for him.

Is it just me, or does the Hammerhead look a lot more, (bad pun warning:) Intimidating, in the animation? I mean in the animation it looked wickedly twisted, this angle makes it look pretty tame and mellow.

No matter what your political views, if it brings in nickels you shouldn't be complaining.

Cedar Fair A "Going Broke Candidate"
Beast1979 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Actually, it was loosing money. Fast. Not to mention that Cedar Fair didn't add one coaster....not one....to that park in the 4 years they owned it. Less and less people went to the park. It was increasingly obvious that Cedar Fair didn't plan on doing much with that park throughout the years, especially when they possessed an antique wooden coaster and added none of the Cedar Fair necessities: Trim Brakes, Seat Belts, Lap Bars, Seat dividers, and so on. While it's a tragedy, it's not that much of a shock. What is a shock, is they decided to keep the waterpark open. "Hey guys, we closed you're favorite amusement park, the one you've known and loved for over 100 years, but we kept the waterpark open! Come enjoy the 2 month Cleveland summer at the same business that closed Geauga Lake! Buy season passes, and we might even add a ride or two!" -
Cedar Fair A "Going Broke Candidate"
Beast1979 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Let's all look at the bright side: Maybe after Cedar Fair goes belly-up Kings Island will be sold to a company that not only manages is money but also treats the park well in all aspects! Or am I asking for to much? -
Easy. 70 mph + Oddly Shaped Drop + Suckish trains + Sub Par Wood = Extreme pain. It's about pain tolerance. Some people are normal, some have spines of steel.

Dollywood Christmas Opportunity
Beast1979 replied to Avatar's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Thunderhead is my #1 woodie, Blazing Fury is one of the best dark rides on Earth, Tennessee is quite possibly the only ARROW coaster I've not only been able to, but willingly, re-ridden because it's that good, the shows are wonderful, the Eagle observatory is cool, Craftsman Valley is full of neat shops, and they actually have decent and original sit down restaurants! The only thing I did not enjoy was Timber Terror. Snore! But otherwise, you'll have practically limitless ways to have fun there. That is, if you can find the darn park, hidden in the mountains and whatnot! -
Will do. I'll make sure to snap some shots of the rarely documented Barverian Beetle! (The ride, not the guy)

I'd visit every year. Every single year. I want to be there opening day. I want to ride Lion Country Safari. I want to ride The Beast when it first opened. I want to ride King Cobra. That would be awesome.
-
5 Words have surrounded the removal idea for years. Imagine what could go there.... IMO, there's tons of better things that could go there (If your so fond of woodies, how about a GG?) then the 200 foot, painful, down half the time, costly, lawsuit sparking, Son of Beast.

Build a giant wall around it.

Uhmm......no offense but.....are you ok? I mean like, had a Cat-Scan and you're ok?....I fear for someone who likes SOB like that.... Just kidding, but I still have trouble believing the ride can actually not hurt, let alone be likable....I just hope in 10 years when Son of B*** is removed, something else is standing in it's place, maybe even the Sob Obsessers will forget it. Here, let me re-arrange that post to fit my opinion:

GREAT AMERICA (CA): What now?
Beast1979 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Put it to rest, Santa Clara. Great America will bring in tons more money for your city then a freaking NFL Football Stadium. There's plenty of other places to put a stadium then on one of your biggest money makers. And you know Cedar Fair's gonna fight this thing to the end, while deal with the headaches? My advice: Instead of spending 3 years battling over this, find another spot of land. By now you could have built the stadium and got it ready for NFL season 2010. -
Paramount Movie Park Photos
Beast1979 replied to Erosarrow05's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I think I like these photos the best: Anyone recognize these? Shaggy posted something similar for the one on the left. Soundwave, the future theme for Flight of Fear. Then there's Backlot, and that looks like a Tomb Raider water ride. Recognize this? School of Rock concert previously at Kings Island, what looks to be a show on Titanic, and no clue what that is on the right. Looks like they've got something real in the works here, I can only hope that they learned something from their last escapade into amusement parks. -
Oh yea, forgot about Wildcat. Thankfully GCIs are not as maintenance heavy as some other coasters, because we all know how wonderful Cedar Fair is with Wooden Coaster Maintenance.
-
Gwazi uses different trains then the rest, and it was their very first coaster. It's like comparing Diamondback to Iron Wolf. Of course they will get rough over time, but no where near as easy as others will.
-
Yea, but why bother to add the GCIs? Theres no way on Earth they're gonna be the roughest in the chain!
-
And pain? And lawsuits? And downtime?
-
So Son of Beast is fine for you but Diamondback hurts? I give up.
-
Never ridden all of them, but the worst I've ridden (And most hated on) is Son of Beast. I rode it in late 2008 when it was a walk on. I rode it, got off, sat down on a bench, took medicine when I got home, and said "Never again. Not a chance in hell." It HURTS. Period.

DORNEY is getting DEMON DROP?!
Beast1979 replied to CedarPointer's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
A.K.A. : Demon Drop has highest ridership in the flat rides business. So it's obvious they wouldn't remove it unless it was to be replaced with a ride they thought would have even higher ridership. -
DORNEY is getting DEMON DROP?!
Beast1979 replied to CedarPointer's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Gain one, loose one? Cedar Point is all about more rides then anyone else. Whether it brings in more nickels or not, I don't know. But I do know there are people in management who like that title. It's a good marketing ploy, too. And if they went by the logic of "Gain one, loose one," where would they be? I think the removal of Demon Drop is all but an obvious sign of a ride going there. Rumors have been circulating for years that something would go there and that area is pretty much dead. -
Worlds of Fun site gets an overhaul
Beast1979 replied to Beast1979's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Somewhere around here someone with a black hat said he knew a guy who said they were working on a site re-design. Now, would it really hurt that much to tell us how far along they are? Or, for Pete's Sake, give us an estimate as to when it'll be online? Because I know web design is hard and it takes a long time but seriously, they've had KI for over 3 years now. Cedar Point's re-designed site went online months ago. If it's a priority at all (And in the current state of their site, it should be) then they'd at least let us know they're working on it. But, I guess, surprises are always nice.
