I haven't been to too many parks, so I would have to say advertising for Busch Gardens Africa (Along with several Orlando Parks) in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The grocery stores are plagued with coupons for tickets

Interesting idea. I see a painful, maintenance nightmare in that ride. -

My single best/epic coaster ride? The one that takes the turkey has to be Diamondback at night during Ride Warrior Coaster Weekend. I had just gone through an amazing day, starting at 7:00 am with The Beast, riding non stop, then going on a Wal-Mart odyssey, meeting tons of great people who I'm good friends with now, and dancing the night away at the picnic pavilion. I'm surrounded by fellow coaster lovers, standing here at 11:00 at night to ride Diamondback. I waited for the front seat, it's pitch black, and it was amazing. On the first drop I was so used to seeing the train tracks and the midway and Crypt, but this time I was plunging into blackness. At the top of the second hill I could look straight on into a housing development, seeing the dimly lit homes 200 feet below me. The second drop I couldn't see a thing, and it felt like it just kept going into nothingness. At the top of the 3rd hill, you saw the menacing hammerhead turn, beautifully illuminated by the full moon in the background. I was in such a state of absolute bliss that I didn't even notice the trim. By the midcourse I could hear myself screaming "Don't let it stop, just keep going, forever!" We went through the return hills, seeing the bright lights of the night time Kings Island approaching. I almost forgot the second helix, so when I was thrown to my left I was filled with surprise. A happy surprise, remembering there is at least a little more to the ride. We coasted through the splashdown, then hit the brakes. I then realized that that ride was one of the best moments of my life, I was in a state of absolute grace. It was nothing short of amazing. But, I've still yet to ride Voyage.

My favorite Queue Line is an Empty Queue Line. Seriously however, I would vote Flight of Fear, it shows the most unique theming in the park, which is odd for a Paramount-Era ride.

If this is what they are doing, then I will give it another chance. I will ride it however your supposed to with an open mind, trying to give it a chance. Son of Beast could become a good ride if they give it the proper overhaul. Speaking of which, does anyone here think Mean Streak is smoother this year?

Around 10 or 15 over the last 2.5 years.

1. I consider myself an enthusiast, and I want it gone. It is not fun to ride. There are other, better, things that can go there. I want it gone. 2. Yes, Son of Beast IS horribly painful. I don't, just plain DO NOT understand, how some people can find it a little bit painful while others find it horribly painful. 3. On the coasters you quoted, those are to have enhanced ride. And then, it's only sitting in one seat or loosen one restraint. On Son of Beast, it's a practical guide. And, it's to make sure that not that you have an enhanced ride, but a tolerable ride!

What is it that they do up at Cedar Point, I don't know what they mean by Kings Island TV......
-
Ahh I understand. Sorry kjkjkj.

What's not to understand? I will not put my hand on a burning stove, because it hurts. I will not sit on a bed of nails, because it hurts. I will not ride Son of Beast, because it hurts! I am not saying Son of Beast is a pain to the intensity of a burning stove or a bed of nails, but it hurts. Why would I do something that hurts? Umm, you said then you said that because the line has gone from 5-15 minutes to 40-60 minutes that it must be more popular. Call me crazy, but I call that contradictory.
-
Umm........ok.....you just contradicted yourself.

In light of the recent news of Son of Beast's closure, possibly for a long period of time, I wanted to get this poll in to see where everyone stands on this. McSalsa's poll on Son of Beast focused more on ratings, this is more pass-fail type. From posts in the topic it would seem there is more Son of Beast lovers then haters, although a lot of people I talk to do not like it at all, so I just want to get solid numbers in.

The Beach is an excellent place, kicks the living pa-tooty out of Boomerang Bay. Great atmosphere, great rides, great park.

kings dominion new coaster in development
Beast1979 replied to raptorcp21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Diamondback's footings were starting to be poured before the beginning of the season, this ride's in the middle of June. Diamondback's track didn't appear on site until late August, this ride, Early June? Am I missing something?....... -
I don't black out or even gray out, except for the pretzel turn of Magnum XL-200 with the trims off. Then, I lost my perefrial (sp?) vision and my normal vision blurred and started to fade. I don't think I'm any stupider (though some of my friends might say otherwise) and my brain doesn't feel any lighter, so I'd say it doesn't.

UFO Over Kings Dominion?
Beast1979 replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Could be the beginning of a marketing campaign for the new roller coaster, it seems extremely early for that though. The first teasers for Diamondback were put up what, 4th of July? Could be just another UFO sighting, there are tons every year and this one coincidentally happened to be over Kings Dominion. Then again, MJ-12 could be doing their dirty work again..... Jackson, who thinks the new ride could involve little green men..... -
What I don't understand is how people can convince themselves they, beyond the shadow of a doubt, witnessed something that plain and simply never happened. For example, how can you be 100% sure that you saw the girl fall out of The Bat? Or to a more general aspect, how can you be 100% sure that you saw Barak Obama get assassinated?

Vote for Beast or SOB for best roller coaster ever
Beast1979 replied to Brandon's topic in Kings Island
Let's see: 1. One of the options is Kennywood's Steel Phantom. Today it is Phantom's Revenge. Unless you want to count them as 2 different coasters. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I'm starting to confuse myself..... 2. Describes our beloved Kings Island as Paramount's Kings Island. Thank god they are wrong on that one. 3. Says that "Wooden Rails" on El Toro can match Steel. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, El Toro's rails are steel. 4. Says that "Kiingda Ka" breaks every record, you name it, it breaks it. That couldn't be farther from the truth. It only breaks tallest and fastest. 5. It labels Kings Island as being in "Kings Island, Ohio" I didn't know we had our own city! 6. They say The Beast is the "Longest Coaster" Don't you mean the longest wooden coaster? Ahh, the GP. I voted for The Beast. Although I do not think The Beast is the best roller coaster ever (especially with all those magnetic....things....they have on it), but in my opinion, of the coasters they have listed, The Beast had the most effect and influence on the history of roller coasters. It redefined what a roller coaster could do, and is still the world's longest wooden roller coaster. -
While in line for Drop Tower Monday, there was a man who was saying he saw the news about Six Flags' bankruptcy, and for a bit I thought he might actually know his stuff, until he said, "Well yea, this here is a Six Flags park. So is Cedar Point up north." I sometimes wonder where people even get this stuff. It's not even funny the things they say, even to the point where they defy common sense, like asking outside Vortex in clear view of the loops "does this ride go upside down?" or saying most certainly that "People die on this ride regularly", as if they would keep the ride open if that was so. I am one of the few people who actually try to correct them, maybe it's because I don't like it when people go around saying wrong information about the parks I love, maybe because I can't stand it when people think people die on perfectly safe rides, maybe it's just the way I am. Some people are easier to convince then others, unfortunately there are some who will not believe anything besides what they are sure is right, which is that everyone died on Diamondback before it even opened to the public.
