Male, 13, and have ridden it about 7 times, all since it's reopened from the 06' incident.

While I totally agree with the idea of a Voyage type ride at Kings Island, how is Voyage a classic woodie? It was made in 2006, and besides having 2 bench PTC trains, I see almost no similarities between Voyage and, say, Racer.

BUT, SoB won't be destroyed. CF doesn't take rides out unless they have to. Rather, they move 'em. HA. And you know this how? And CF will take out rides, even if they don't have to. They are just like every other amusement park owner in that sense. Does Geauga Lake ring a bell? Also, "Moving them" is called Ride Rotation, something popular in the Paramount years where they would take good rides, move them to another park, and market them as a new ride. Cedar Fair has suggested this idea several times, but has not tried it yet to my knowledge, of course not counting Geauga Lake. And Son of Beast would NOT be a ride rotation candidate. You move rides so you can draw people in at another park, not so you can rid the first park of it.

Did someone say B&M Invert?

I've never been to Texas, but Mean Streak is not blisteringly painful, just jerky and slow and awfully boring to me. SoB is a PoS. So, I vote Mean Streak. But to be honest, I think they should both be gone.

Adventure Express by far. Backlot's launch and helix are great and the pitch black tunnel is nice, but the rest is flat. Adventure Express is killer.

Teen Injured on Raptor at Cedar Point
Beast1979 replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It still boggles my mind to this day. I swear I come off in pain that's unimaginable, and I'm pretty sure you guys ain't lyin about feeling nothing at all, so I still have no idea how that would occur. It's Cleveland. Yep, pretty serious. STOP IT You are making me miss Raptor! I will lap that thing all day and night if you let me! Have you by any chance ridden Dueling Dragons Fire? I, for one, prefer that over Raptor by a small margin. The lines are shorter and the ride is a bit better, plus there is another track that you come within inches of several times. It's, cool. -

kings dominion new coaster in development
Beast1979 replied to raptorcp21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Take note of his excellent skill.... Amazing, huh? Anyway, w00t for lift hill! This thing is getting me excited....I can't wait to see it go up! -
Stranger things have happened (2000-Millennium Force, 2001-Wicked Twister, 2003-Top Thrill Dragster) But I do believe that the "5 years" idea is a bit far. How long does it take before a ride pays for itself and we can start investing in another major attraction? Diamondback is about to get one million, that's 1,000,000, rides this season, and we haven't hit Halloween Haunt yet. Plus, where do you think Cedar Fair will be in 5 years? I see them adding rides very frequently for the next few years to keep them from hitting bankruptcy to soon.
-
While I have a feeling a forums board may get rather messy, the site could use one because as far as I see it, the site is nothing more then an advertisement for all the Cedar Fair rides, rides we already know the stats for, the correct stats, I may add.

Indiana Beach's Tig'rr Gets Seatbelts
Beast1979 replied to dare-to-fly's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Sorry. It still managed to crack me up however. -
I'd like to point out that with the Raptor incident, inspection lasted less then a day. Son of Beast's inspection has been going on for what, 3 weeks now?

Yet again, Who's saying they have to remove it? Yet again, Ever heard of Standing But Not Operating? SBNO? Jackson, who wonders why he's bothering...

Cedar Point or Universal?
Beast1979 replied to TheCryptRaider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I just got back from Universal Studios / Islands of Adventure today. One word: WOW. Go to Universal. Get a 2 park pass. Ride everything you can. Yes, even the water rides. Eat at the restaurants. Browse the shops. Make sure to plan your trip in advance. Most of all, Enjoy. I know you will. -
Cedar Point or Universal?
Beast1979 replied to TheCryptRaider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Logically it seems Universal would be the smartest decision. Seeing as though you are going to be able to visit Cedar Point next year and probably not Universal next year, and maybe *crosses fingers* Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket will be open, so I say go Universal. I will be at Universal today (go figure) and will be getting my 50th coaster (again, go figure) so tonight I will have the opinion of being to both parks. -
.....Thus making it a money pit? Jackson, wondering if that was a defense for SoB or not......

As long as it isn't Nickelodeon Universe, chances are I will be happy. I watch Nickelodeon (Or did), and the last thing I want is to see it at my home park!
-
Glad to see you had a good time. Happy Anniversary! It's good to hear that people are enjoying the park, and also that the crews are doing well!

Yes, there are. Right before the second turn after the lift, there is a set of trims. -
I voted other, but nothing makes me dizzy unless I do it over and over and over, which I don't.
-
I know I have. I have what, 7, 8 rides on it? All painful? Yes.
-
No, we're not. I don't know about the others, but for me, it truly, does, HURT! Well, you're in luck, because it's not being sold.
