I was The Bouncer there in 2008. I loved Club Blood!

I was... um, I mean, Sam was... the host of Slaughterhouse on Saturday, counting out the groups and letting them in the door. As she was going into the door, the last woman in a group asked Sam, "Didn't this building used to be Tomb Raider?" Sam asked her back "Does this building really look tall enough to you?" The guy at the front of the next group started laughing and Sam said "Just look at this building..." (pointing to Slaughterhouse) "...compared to THAT building!" (pointing to Madame Fatale's/The Crypt/Tomb Raider).

^ You are correct. 25 operating days last year and 26 this year.

^Hmm... I thought he was. He should be!

^ I believe Don Miller was as well, but I could be wrong, he may have retired by that time. Another person I would like to see inducted: Doug Kramer.

All of the haunts are designed to be wheelchair/EVC accessible.

I remember hearing/reading comments from guests about that area being too bright with the lights from Drop Tower and them reflecting off the fog, but whether that's the reason I don't know.

CornStalkers never used the drained Congo Falls area. The years it was in Action Zone it used the Timberwolf walkway next to Congo Falls. It moved there in 2008 & was there for at least the 2009 season too according to this History of the Haunt post. I've circled that area in red in the picture below. I'm not sure exactly where the entrance and exit were as I was busy working Club Blood & Slaughterhouse's original location those years. Cedar Point's CornStalkers uses their drained Thunder Canyon ride area. Slaughterhouse has had the compression tunnel (air bags) for the past 11 years. CP's Slaughterhouse has nice scenery. I especially like their freezer room.

Sam didn't do it! This time... -
Im bak this yeer butt onlee on saturdaze n sum frydaze cuz gator haz 2 go 2 futbal gamz 2 c gatorgrl n tha marchin banned! -Sam EDIT: What Sam is trying to say is that despite me saying last year that 2018 would be my last year working Haunt for a while, I will be back on Saturdays and some Fridays. This will be GatorGirl's first year in marching band so I plan on going to most/all of the home games and maybe some away ones too. They don't bring the full band to all of the away games, and I'm still waiting to see which weeks those are to determine what Fridays I can work. But yes, Sam the Butcher is back in Slaughterhouse!

^The Tomb Raider building is used for Madame Fatale's Cavern of Terror and Action Theater (Days of Thunder building) is used for Urgent Scare.

What if King Cobra weren't torn down?

^You are correct about the queue. You entered from the left of the coaster, went under the lift, the main queue area was cramped, surrounded by a brown fence, and then you went upstairs to the station. I always wanted to go up into that operator booth looking down on the station, but sadly I never got the chance. -
What if King Cobra weren't torn down?

Jaws was one of my favorites. I rode it several times each trip in 1997 and 1999. The last time I went to Universal Orlando was in 2011. I spent a lot of time beforehand preparing my then-6 year old daughter for one of my favorite rides, telling her to just keep remembering that the shark that would be attacking us was fake. The day finally came and as she was playing at the Curious George play area, I pulled out the park map and saw the notice that Jaws would be closed for maintenance starting the day of our visit; if I had known that ahead of time, I would have switched our Magic Kingdom day (the day before) with our Universal Studios day just to ride it. Then, before we ever got the chance to go back, it was announced that the ride would be closing for good. So, I'm very sorry that GatorGirl never got to experience one of my favorite rides by ONE FREAKIN' DAY!!! As far as King Cobra goes, I loved that ride! It was the best stand up coaster that I've ever ridden and I was very sad when they took it out. I got to ride SkyRider years later (in 2014), but when I went to Kings Dominion in 2001 I skipped Shockwave because at the time we had the same coaster at KI. That was before I was a credit hog! -
Wow... I didn't see this coming! We went to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels in 2010, and it was the best waterpark I've ever been too. Good purchase by Cedar Fair! I'd love to get down there again, but now that my friends have moved out of Texas it's not likely that I'd vacation there again, although it would be nice to spend more time in San Antonio.

The Plight Before Christmas. We had full houses and then there were times we were playing for 2 people (on the very cold nights). I loved how we incorporated the poles on the stage into the show. I miss it!

I'm not sure where to find the apple cider in the park, but I know for sure that Rivertown Funnel Cake (Claus Confectionary) has the cinnamon bread. I walk by there many, many times every night (for some reason ), wanting the cinnamon bread or a peppermint funnel cake. My partner & I stopped in there the first night to see what they had. I'm not sure if they ran out of the bread Sunday night at that location, but my mom was at the park and got it there sometime between 8:00 - 9:00 that night. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/play/winterfest/attractions/claus-confectionery

I felt it was unfair of me to take the M&M's as I myself was working too. While I'm sad that the show I was in last year, The Plight Before Christmas, was the only one to not come back this year (it was a funny one!) but I'm having a great time this year walking around as Mr. Tannenbaum! I'll be mostly in Rivertown and occasionally on International Street, so you can look for me there (only I won't have M&M's to hand out).

I know Cedar Point bans the use of phones & cameras in their haunts too. I go up for Halloweekends every year and remember them saying this in their spiel at each house. First, it can be disorienting for the scareactors, especially when someone is using their light. Our eyes are adjusted to the dark and for someone to come in with a bright light, it blinds us. Second, it takes away from the experience for the other people in the group. It's like at a concert, sitting behind someone taking video on their phone... the screen is distracting. Third, like flightoffear1996 said, leave some mystery for others! We don't need multiple videos of the attractions online, letting people know where our hiding spots are and what to expect in each room. I don't know how many times I've had to get after people to put their phones away. Highly annoying!

Kings Island Nominated for Favorite Holiday Park
XGatorHead 8904 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
Please, if you ever go to Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas again... and this goes for everyone reading this... see the shows! Christmas in the Smokies, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and It's a Wonderful Life especially are phenomenal! I cannot say enough good things about them. -
Winterfest vs Christmas Town
XGatorHead 8904 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Sounds like the typical complaints that people had about KI last year, but once people experienced the event, I noticed the complaints online about the upcharges decreased. I still see a few on Facebook, but now people that went to WinterFest last year are pretty quick to come to the defense of the park when it comes to the value of the cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus and the ice skating. -
Kings Island Nominated for Favorite Holiday Park
XGatorHead 8904 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
For years Dollywood had my vote for best holiday event but last year KI pulled out all the stops and upped their game from previous WinterFests. KI has my vote and I'm not even being biased because I work there. I still love Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas though and still want to get down there again for it. -
This topic just shows that I need to start paying attention to eBay again. I got some great collectibles years ago from auctions on there... which reminds me, I need to dig those up and see if KI50Movie_Official might want to use some of them. I am very confident that the Smurf went to a good home. Unfortunately not mine, but a good home nonetheless.
