  1. literal LOL!! OMG!! So in lehman's terms what did you break? your wrist? maybe i don't remember my training as well as i thought, cuz i didn't feel a break when we checked it out at Steak n Shake Sorry to hear about that. But it was a blast hanging out with you on Sunday!!
  2. So as I'm browsing the few different Haunt discussions, I noticed something that a lot more KICer's are getting into. Being ScareActors!!! So this is for those who have auditioned and got in, and know where they're placed for the time being So yes, everyone's favorite Stalker will be back at Urgent Scare, for the time being I might be moving up in the world of Haunt, but I won't know for 3 weeks ugh.
  3. It's early this year isn't it? It's normally the middle of September, cuz I throw a fit that I can never go til later cuz the first day of Haunt "rehersals" were normally that day so I just skipped out into the park for the last few hours. Oh and an FYI to employees that may have the night off... your ID will not get you into the park either. Past experience talking. But if i can manage to get off work that night, you better believe I'll be there. Haven't missed one in 6 years And I'll back up everyone else up on here. Its a GREAT night full of fun and laughing, and just being crazy... glam rock anyone? But yes, I guarantee there will be a hater or 2 around. You always will end up with a nut professing how much we're all sinners and yada yada. 2 years ago he parked himself under The Racer going back to X-Base... it was annoying.... But other than a few ppl who feel the need to show up just to bash ppl, its a trully great night. No line jumpers, no fights, no stupidity (for the most part) Its a lot of fun! Oh and normally great music too! lol Can't wait!
  4. I really wish there was a day of registration I won't know til Saturday afternoon if I can even go since i'm playing in the MDA softball tourney for Jerry's Kids all this week/weekend. and it all depends on the bracket but i did plan on walking the 5k... we'll see. and for those wondering 5k=3.1 miles, and 10k=6.2 miles lol
  5. I feel like it will be just like Bare Bones nights. Only the big coasters open, and maybe just the indoor mazes open, not the 3 smaller scare zones. But you all forget that there are plenty of college students umm.. More Mature members of the human race *ducks for cover from Gator* That are there for Haunts. Maybe only a quarter of those employed are Minors believe it or not. There's quite a lot of college students that can cover things Depending on where you're at, you may be able to get there later. I used to work right down the road til 6 got there straight to makeup, and in my Haunt by 7. So sometimes, they'd rather take the members being late/leaving early as opposed to not being there at all.
  6. where were you a few days ago . i so couldve used your help. LOL no i mean i live 45 minutes closer to CP than i do to KI. It takes me a little over 2 hours to get to KI. If i take the back way to CP and actually shoot out to the east and swing in 3 blocks from the causeway, i can get there in an hour and half max depending on the lights
  7. Oh my god, I completely agree! That whole idea was 100% mine Lol. Ugh... I'm gonna pretend like you didn't just say that....
  8. OMG Gator I feel you. I got "The Speech" from Dane last year with Urgent Scare , and it was sooooo... hard to wait until opening weekend to talk about it... It "Killed" me LOL Oh and someone asked earlier about placement. Your supervisor will decide where you go in the attraction during the rehearsal week the week before opening. Thats when they decide where you will do the best at, such as in Urgent Scare if you'll be at the entrance, inside, or the exit.
  9. "Without Appointment" means cattle call or for you youngins, its come in and then you'll get your appointment.
  10. Awww... Angie no mention of the roadtrip you took friday!? I'm hurt Ok I'm putting my foot down. Who wants to go to CP sometime during the week (as I don't work mon, tues, or weds) I haven't gone in like 5 or 6 years, and its my home freaking park for crying out loud. I can get there 45 minutes faster than I can to KI >.< I know I know. But I'm glad you had fun! You deserved it
  11. LOL Did she call me Rachel? Or she probably called me Jessica or Pam cuz she's a nut. But her name Is Ingrid and i <3 her. she's a hoot. and totally made my nights working with her. Whenever i got hurt or just so upset with a guest, she was there to calm me down, make me laugh, and kiss my boo boos. And yes Uncle Festers mask was pretty much form fitted around that head of his. yes, uncle feaster. he is kool. YES!!!! He's great. He also made the time putting on ppl's makeup so much more enjoyable! I can't wait to audition. And if you're any good at coming up with ideas and short skits, I'd ask to be placed outside when you get there for rehersal week. thats when your supervisors decide where they put you. If you wanna do a lot of pop scares, request inside. They both can be fun! Especially if you're with the right ppl (Like Typical Guy )
  12. Dude.. Disappointed its open on thursdays and sundays?!?!?! It hasn't in the past 2 years, minus 2 years ago Halloween was on a weds, so it was open mon, tues, and weds. Normally Haunt is only a Friday/sat night. Altho the Sundays and Thursdays seem randomly thrown in... I'd expect the thurs of Halloween weekend to be open, not in the middle. No rollercoaster "closes at night" All rides, minus Nick U are up and running during Haunt. And except for Scrambler, as its the line for Massacre Manor. There's signs literally EVERYWHERE around the park. i pass 17 i swear just going from the parking lot to the gate, that say "Park Transforms at 5pm. Children under 13 should exit the park by 5pm" and yet at 6:30 when the actors leave to go to their locations, you ultimately have the mom with 4 kids under 5 standing by the theatre none the less screaming and yelling at you to stop scaring their kid when you're simply walking... not in character or anything. just walking, with duffelbags and water bottles and food, looking opretty normal and not scary. You will ALWAYS have that stupid parent that JUST DOESN'T GET IT. Simple really. Friday = High School football games, and other sports on Saturday morning, and only being open at 7. Ultimately shorter lines. I recommend to anyone to go on a Friday. Especially if it rained up until 6. That was the greatest night ever! nothing but fog everywhere! (most of it natural too!) and no lines! even at Urgent Scare, the lines were like 15 minutes. Saturdays = park open all day, so families, high schoolers, teeny boppers EVERYWHERE. and everyone just sticking around later that night. Honestly I see Sats in october as worse than Sats in July That would The Wall of Monsters (and my favorite part of Haunt ) And I would assume since the park opens at 7 on thursday, that they would also do WoM on Thursday as well. Again I recommend anyone being at the park at 6:30 to witness this. It's a riot! (pun intended)
  13. WOOHOO!!! You're welcome I'm still trying to think of one to top that actually... and its hard! Yeah that one definitely goes to Kat's backless mobile device
  14. LOL!!! Uncle Fester has PLENTY of stories!! That kid cracks me up! He made the make up tables so much more fun and interesting. *evil giggle* We'll see if the Stalker is back at US or not this year. It's kinda 3rd on my list right now I think I'm gonna stop down there Sunday before I go to Strickers, Then I won't have to take time out of the day the 16th or 22nd So for those of you going to Strickers i'll let you know Oh and I to know the joys of not living near by. I live 2 hours away, but fortunately I have a great friend who has great parents that live 10 minutes down the road. OMG!!! Steak n Shake just got 10 times better after Haunt! Imagine all the KICers sitting in there taking over!! LOVE IT! (for you noobs, a lot of ppl that have gotten to be friends over the years, either go to McDonalds or Taco bell and chill at the picnic tables, or we go to Steak N Shake on Fields Ertle right after to get food, since some of us don't get a food break, to chill and what not. Great times!)
  15. 1. Urgent Scare is both indoors and outdoors. 2. what happens when it rains and your outside... when it rains you're still out there scaring... 3. WHat about later in the year when its freezing and you want nothing more to do than be inside sweating off layers Incorrect. In fact 95% of the actors in Club Blood are at least 18. KI doesn't want to have to worry about minor laws and what not when it comes to promiscuative clothing... I know a girl that had to get a waver signed at 17 to work there the last weekend..... Totally Seconding this! Best thing i ever did. And i would drive 2 hours every night to do it, if i didn't already have a great wonderful friend willing to let me crash at his place lol PS. Dane you gonna hook me up this year? Who said that? So are the open interviews for HAUNT casual? I'm not really sure what to wear...I'm going to the park that day so I would like to wear something comfortable, but I don't know if I should be in more formal clothing? I planned on wearing khaki shorts, a nicer button up short sleeve shirt, and flip-flops. Is that too casual? again you can be a monster at any age. And Kyle, that right there is more dressed up than i've seen 80% of the ppl that go in there. But if you're thinking about carnEVIL they'll probably ask you to do a clown laugh of some sorts. And it really depends on what the new attraction is. I can't find it anywhere (darn it anyways, but when you find out sat, totally let me know ) you are more than welcome to ask about the new one, i did last year, and i thought it sounded like a blast and i was right! They may or may not give you a general description of the haunts, but just go with what you think would be fun, and more importantly one that you could think of a few different scenarios on, cuz trust me... the last thing you wanna do is do the same thing over and over for 7 hours straight lol
  16. OMG you just made my day!!!! Thats cuz thats when me and uncle henry were there we made it awesome I honestly don't know how many times i got hit a night... it was well over 20 and i loved it! (now everyone knows where my name comes from
  17. I would HIGHLY doubt that considering a good amount of ppl on this forum (including our admins) work at the park as Scaractors for Haunt just sayin 1. kjkjkj/ Kyle- Maybe going 2. Ashers/ Ashley- Maybe going 3. HTCO (maybe) 4. dare-to-fly 5. Justin M17/ Justin 6. AgentSoB/ Tracy 7. Andrew- should be going but not definite 8. Ogrmac / Makayla 9. Coaster Kid 10. mtl2013 (probably) 11. StalkerChick/ Rachel (again will probably be there just not sure on the whole participating thing... So I'm assuming check is the only way to pay for this?
  18. Awww.. I've missed you!! I loved working in the next room the last weekend with you guys minus having to jump out of that bed to push the darned button everytime... why the button was not in the elevator... i will never know.... Uh oh... Kronos is kinda a big meany O:) lol but he might (hopefully) have a partner this year That is my absolute WORST part of Haunt... When i pop out when i see ppl (not seeing who the ppl are) and some mom or dad literally punches for jumping out and scaring their kid (or them lol) its not fun, and i have dropped character to offer to escort them out of the park it gets THAT bad sometimes... We had to completely E-stop shut down Urgent scare and evacuate everyone out, cuz someone brought their 4 year old in and she got so scared she climbed under a table and behind a finling cabinet and would not come out... her mom couldn't even pull her out she was holding on to something for dear life... so all the ppl, all the scareactors had to leave the area (and any are that went to the emergency exit) and then we had to find normal ppl to cover up any props in the room to get her to come out. 20 minutes later and then we have to reset everything on top of that.... theres a warning for a reason. Haunt starts to transform at 5pm. so when the monsters go to their attractions at 6:30-7pm, your kids should not be in the "parade" area and theres no use screaming at us that we're scaring your kid.... pushing and shoving us away... when we're just simply walking... not scaring. If your kids are old enough and want to do it (which i know a few who's parents are on this site lol) thats all well and good bring it on. But i HATE parents who drag their kids along. I have gone out of my way to drop character and talk to the kid like a normal person. have them give me a high five, touch my boo-boo's b/c i KNOW they do NOT want to be there. And i feel bad for the poor kid. But now teenagers... oh their fun to catch off guard... the little girls that scream and run are a blast. KI is still working on making theirs "scarier" and i think they're doing a darned good job over fearfest. As far as the partner thing... a lot of places will do that. One person might just stand there being totally obvious therefore no ones looking at the person hiding. I did it a lot popping out from under the picnic table at Urgent Scare, while my partner just stood across the queue staring ppl down. In fact when Allyssa came to join us we had a great trifecta ping pong scare going! those are so much fun when you can get doubles
  19. soooo jealous. wish i coulda joined ya!! i so need to get to those parks now. its official and i dont know how kat does those rides. i had to quite watching the first video halfway through cuz i was getting dizzy just watching it!
  20. which lady O:) I had more fun standing in line for it then going through it. Probably because it was the returners on the outside, and ppl that kept signing up, or ppl that we had to pull from other attractions because we didn't have enough workers to run the house, since ppl can't seem to hack working there, to make fun for you guys, so that you'll have something to go through. and its really just a matter of how you go into it. are you going into these places going "These ppl aren't going to scare me, I'm going to act all touch and macho" therefore having no fun, and then in turn claiming things were "lame and stupid" lest you forget it takes thousands of ppl to work these haunts. Urgent Scare needed 80 a night to run properly.... towards the end of the season we were literally down to 30.... b/c ppl either couldn't take the hours (we're literally there for 9 hours with no break if you're over 18 and a half hour break if a minor, 5pm-2am) and dealing with ppl punching us, kicking us, and trying to be the "tough guy" It seems (to me) that its the teenagers that are complaining about some of the attractions... did you ever think that we see so many teenagers that come through taunting us, touching us when they're not supposed and generally being THEE rudest guests towards the workers.... ppl tend to forget that these ppl are here FOR THEM, to have fun, because we WANT to. Haunt workers don't like dealing with some ppl just as much as you like dealing with some of them... yes there are some groups who dont fit the stereotype... but enough bad apples, we just give up even trying to scare certain age groups..... because its just not worth the crap we're going to get.... Which muffler thing? O:) the short one or the longer one that was a "blanky" sorry to burst you're bubble, but the odds of that happening are very slim. Like someone already mentioned about Wings it might become and over the top eatery, but Health Codes and Safety Codes just wouldn't be feasible turning a used eatery into a Haunt zone....
  21. thats what i did last year, worked day job then did haunt it worked out great and the Wall of Monsters is my favorite part of Haunt!
  22. Take the time to try the Haunt attractions some of them look really good but the ones I tried last year was just plain stupid.(Urgent Scare and Cornstalkers) I know. Urgent Scare was not scary at all. It was just really gory. Kind of like that one movie... "Haunting in Connecticut". Really? you didnt like the outside at all? I'm a little hurt by this... :-/ but then again you coulda been the ones not having fun with it, and running through and trying to make fun of the actors... just curious were you there on fri or sat?
  23. Expect to be there from 5pm til 2am. you have to go in early to get makeup done, and be ready to go by the time the gates open at 7. the LINES close at 1am, so if you're in a popular attraction, it may be awhile til you get to leave. And the wage is a bit over minimum. It goes up with every year you work there tho The odds of you getting hired for the Haunt are incredibly good. A few attractions need close to 50 or more ppl to run properly... and trust me... some of the ppl i've seen get in *rolls eyes* can't even make it one weekend ugh. But the chances of getting a roamer are a lot harder. You pretty much have to be able to work every day of the season, and even then it tends to be returners, but sometimes if you're good and show some good stuff you'll get in. I just wouldn't get your hopes too up for it. makeup O:) lol but again with no experience... slim to none If you haven't gotten a phone call by a date you can go i HIGHLY suggest going to an open interview day. If you want a certain attraction, make sure you go to the earliest one you can. This is you're best bet If anyone has any other more in depth questions feel free to send me a PM. I can forward on any of the 4 convos i've had with ppl already about it
  24. And even on crowded days, I find that the waits for lines are highly exaggerated. With the high capacity of DB, I would estimate the wait from the beginning near the train would be about an hour which isn't bad for a Saturday. At Firehawk, I have timed the wait from the entrance with both trains running at 1 hr and 15 minutes despite their sign stating 2 hours. If the queues for The Racer were half full, that is still just about a 20 minute wait. Did you not read mine and rotag TR's? Firehawk was almost under the X-Base sign not it own entrance. Diamondback was all the way to the basketball games and an employee was there saying 90 mins. It about an hour just from the start of the sign about, at least it was on opening day omfg.... they do warn you... They have this really big sign out in the parking lot. you know the one with the park name on it. OH! and it lights up and if special groups are there, they make them feel special and it normally flashes Welcome *insert group(s) name here* watch it sometime. I have a few pics of those, when i was there with a group. Thats normally a good warning, if you see a list of names. and ppl aren't "riding you" (i see ppl backing up the park and giving their opinions) And you seem to keep fueling the fire, by repeating yourself or adding more negative comments every time just stating and observation. Oh, and another thing... look at the amount of money companies such as P&G are worth compared to DG, and their employee satisfaction rate. I guarantee P&G's outranks quite a few companies int he US! In fact PG rents out lots of places. They used to do that to Jillian's in Covington when that was around. thw whole thing.... and every month they rented out the banquet hall there. They do quite a few of those. They can afford it. also, lets look at DG's statewide population. I'll use my county as an example, considering its in the bottom 4th of most populated counties and we have at least 2 (i'm thinking or 4 but for this purpose) There's 88 counties times 2 in every county d say at least 20 employees, and this isn't including maybe just over the border in KY or IN, and not even including major cities!!! OH!! and dont forget to factor in spouses or kids. the national average being a family of 4 ppl... Thats a lot of ppl. My mom works for Copeland/Emerson and they have a company picnic there every year.. on a sat.. and the lines were always long, and this was in June. she got 4 tickets free and could purchase more at a discounted rate. Now, also these middle weeks in July are the major vacation weeks for ppl. And the new thing seems to be "stay-cations" so parents take their children local for fun (KI and CP used to be our only family vacations for a good 10 years of my life. maybe throw in a reds game or ohio caverns every other year too So yes a nice day in July on a saturday with nothing better to do... crowds will be there. It's a Sat in July! History has provedthat more than enough times
  25. Did you ride Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit? i think it sounds amazing! Glad you have fun, and Twisters kind of a fun little ride when you don't know whats coming... but man, almost everythings different from when i went 10 years ago. I remember when they were building some of those coasters. i think universal's doubled in size since i've been... and now thank you i totally need to get back >.< same here! Uncle Henry and KIMan, got the superbowl deal of a free week, and for some strange reason i'm going with them we could make this a huge group outing in december!!
