Carowinds 3/27/2010 Roll Call
StalkerChick replied to Rustbucket's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well, I`d love to get down to Carowinds again. Unfortunately, I don`t really have the luxury of taking a Friday or Monday off of work. At least not right now when I am a contract employee, which will hopefully turn into full time employment here by the end of April. So if we can swing a Saturday and Sunday trip, then I`m game. I could potentially leave work an hour early on a Friday to head down to Carowinds and/or Dollywood. I'm up for leaving at 5 on a friday and driving all night and driving back sunday lol -
Why doesn't Cedar Fair do this!?
StalkerChick replied to DropZone99's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Cory hit a lot of this on the head. Generally steel is going to cost more than wood for one. And you're comparing steel coasters in bigger parks and wood ones in smaller parks. and then you're also comparing steel costers that are newer than some of those wood coasters. Woodies are sadly a dying trend, left for the enthusuasts and the nostalgic. ppl want the spped and smoothness and twisty turvy of metal now a days -
Where's my "Like" button so i can add times a bajillion after it LOL and this did literally make me lol... man i need to get out...

Kings Dominion Roll Call 4/2/2010
StalkerChick replied to Rustbucket's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
not adding my name to list yet as a definate but this is probably 60% likely at this point in time all depends on how the new job is going and how much i et back in my tax return as to if i get a PP -
2-3 months?!?! pretty sure it would only burn for a week tops O:) WHOA!!!! real life?! you have one of those?!?! *giggles* j/k <3 Since someone thinks I am not commenting, I'll just say it again. It sure does look like familiar terrain.... Just to check my assumption, isn't most amusement park terrain likely familiar to Terpy? thats what i'm thinking... but i didn't think it would being to a certain other east coast park that terpy seems to frequent But from a legit postition lets think about this logically.... 1)SOB is getting a complete overhaul basically from what is said will be done over the next year. Why do all the work they've already started doing just to burn...er... tear it down 2) Top gun still has a few years left in it.. i mean come on Vortex is sinking quicker than that (please note sarcasm for those noobs) 3) BBW just closed and is getting dismantled 4) ok now i'm throwing an opinion in by loking at those topos the cut out at the bottom of the very crappily rendered computer graphic looks like it kinda matches the little inlet in Virginia... just saying

*crosses fingers* i dont care what color they paint it. it could be neon green and hot pink for all i care as long as its painted! and i still think its too soon to assume the yellow is staying. time will tell. that picture isn't the most clear... with plenty of shadows hiding

2.5 hours away... close to Lima. only about 3 hours from the point. and about 1 hour to 45 minutes from Giga depending on the back roads and *ahem* lack of cops? lol

I'm seconding jesse with this one. and i actually think you might enjoy one or 2 shows if the same ones are still playing i saw a few years ago. and unfortunately i didn't get to go to DW while i was down there, but Jesse, you didn't mention anything about the other lights! Pigeon Forge sets up the 12 days of christmas on the strip in the median 4 calling birds has to be my favorite

*giggles* hmmm... those "new" friends of yours look like some familiar ACEers i've run into before. its awesome when you can meet new ppl in new places randomly like that! I'm sooooo totally jealous though!! I've now made it a mission to try to get ppl to go there with me when i'm down there the week before New Years. Next time you go down, i recommend the Apple Barn (and especially if you like a nice fruit wine... theirs is THEE best i've ever had!) You should totally make a family vacation down there. Its complete worth it, and as you saw has plenty to do for everyone. With 6 of us and 10 years between me and my youngest brother, it was one of the best family vacays we've taken. If you need any recommendations whether camping or renting a cabin let me know! I'll be going down there the 27th-jan 1st to spend new years down there with some Haunt friends and i can't wait! I'm totally convincing them to make a stop in dollywood now!

Thanks for posting the info! I drove by KI this weekend and saw the marquee but had NO idea what in the world was going on... and even I'm thinking about making the 2 1/2 hour drive to go to this on monday.... And I'm actually kinda glad that they DO have it on their marquee... it might just get more ppl like me to look stuff up wondering wtf they're talking about, and therefore more ppl showing up... ya never know it might happen

Nothing a little paint can't fix. ummm..... paint can't fix holes in the floorboards, and parts rusting off.... rust is a lot different than chipped paint... you've obviously never owned/ridden in an old car that your uncle runs the heck out of or its the only thing a college kid can afford, where you can watch the road go by on the floor cuz it literally rusted a hole in the metal paint can't stick to nothing thats there pssstt.... most of the fogger's don't use water... there are "steam" foggers and then there's the "fog juice" foggers which uses its own special solution thats not water... so its possible Looks at picture above hmmm.... don't think that one sits in the water either....

*crosses fingers for doll factory* Yes CP's is done a little better than Knott's and you'd be amazed how much that creeps ppl out! I'm not creeped out by dolls (except the ones that no matter what will creep out ANYONE) and i had moments in this maze!

other than all of this (including royally kicking Giga's butt at Bejeweled on facebook O:) i decided to enjoy the weather this weekend and went down to Eden park and Krohns Conservatory (totally check it out if you have the chance. its all warm and toasty ) planning on going to the festival of lights, hopefully a trip to dollywood with some haunt ppl, hanging out said haunt ppl, maybe getting a universal trip in there who knows oh yeah. finding a freaking job... kinda forgot about that 227 applications/resume's later *sigh*

Merchandise Entertainment? but they normally have auditions at different times You automatically get returner status for Haunt. not for the park in general. They will send you something either by mail or email normally about interviews. I got something 2 years ago, but didn't get a single thing this year about it. And i applied this year after working Haunt the past few years, and didn't even get an interview (i applied after the park was open tho) so its not a for sure that you are a rehire for the summer.

Haunt 09 slaughterhouse, Urgent Scare, and Tombstone converge hmmm.... this guy looks like he might be rustlin up some gators and then just some Typical Guy teehee *rawr* a little fuzzy but this is my walk back through an almost empty park. its really creepy!! and i'm done. i think. for now
