I believe that Paul's video was just to point out that as a train rides across the track things build up or peel off and lead to the track looking horrid. That's all. Paul's a funny man. Umm… holy crap wow… I’m typing this up in the car so I’m going to just respond to the first post as mobily reading them all and quoting them would not ‘really be feasible… First off, you complain about the “gangs of teenagers, you obviously have NEVER gone to the park on a weekend in the summer… they’re even worse then. Period. They’re teenagers, in large groups. Kinda the demographic Kings Island goes after. Unfortunately for the rest of us. You talk about the security. From the last 2 times I’ve been on a Friday, The aides (the ones in bright neon green/yellow) have been pretty on top of the lines and keeping people in line. Since they implemented the aides last year, the lines have been 10 million bajillion times better than they were without them, as there were only I swear 5 security guards walking around the park all night previously. Next. You talk about Wall of Monsters on Friday night. Which is what people come for. If you don’t want to deal with, don’t be there right as the gates open. Wait 15 minutes and you’ll be fine. Your precious coaster will still be there with not much of a line, thanks to those haunts that you complain about. 95% of the people there, are waiting for it, and expecting it, and loving it! Most normal people have their passes and tickets out already, so its your own fault for getting “disoriented and sidetracked”. I thought you didn’t care for Haunt, therefore these ppl shouldn’t even phase you. Just saying. The OverLord is not satan. He’s simply a character. Now they used to have the Undertaker, you worked for the Devil. Maybe you would prefer that character to come back?? I mean that seems more you speed maybe? He would heckled anyone he could pick out. Again awesome character. As for the fog, I wear glasses, and worked in the stuff for years. Also have asthma. I love the fog! It makes it fun, and adds to the ambience. And for those actors it makes it more fun and easier to scare others that are there to ACTUALLY BE SCARED which is about 95% of the population there on a given night. I’ve also heard that it’s pretty awesome to ride The Beast and DB in the fog… but I haven’t gotten to experience that yet. Now as far as the decorations go…. I’m really going to pretend that you’re completely kidding… When one thinks of Halloween whats the first thing that pops into your head? Oh yeah that’s skeletons, witches, vampires, coffin, jack-o-lanterns. Oh what was that? KI has all those things? Yeah… Now here I’m going to go a step, might make you feel bad might not. But years ago when I was about 7 my uncles cornfield caught on fire during a drought season. 7 acres of fire. And cornstalks… But do cornstalks bring back bad memories for me? No. So I’m assuming since vampires are associated with coffins you can’t stand those either just for the sole reason of them being about coffins. In fact let me let you in on a not-so-secret. Halloween is derived from All Hallow’s Eve, aka All Souls Day. Souls…. Dead people… hand in hand. It actually dates back centuries in which people celebrated and remember the dead. It had religious meaning. Any more it’s just a day Catholics have to go to church, and some other not so celebrated religions like Wiccan (not witches but actually Wiccan, which celebrates the Earth if people take the time to learn about it. Ask me and I’ll tell you all about it) In places like Mexico they celebrate La Dia De Muerte, aka Day of the Dead, where they celebrate a lost loved ones life. It’s a way to celebrate their life when they were here on this earth. But I’m sure you’d want them to cancel their holiday as well? But you were ok with the Howl-o-fest!? But they dress up!! Like skeletons and vampires, and witches!! Oh no!! I’m sure you’d only like princesses perhaps? And the shows.. have you watched them? Or just know theres a loud sound you don’t like? Cuz if you actually watch it, it makes sense, and adds some fun to a show. Seriously…. You might have taken it a step to far As far as you’re “I wish it was how it was in the 90’s” comment, I’d like to know what that was like. Closed? Since the first FearFest ran by WEBN was in 2000. And Paramount started running it in 2004. And it makes money! I heard there were upwards of 40k ppl in the park on Saturday. It’s a HUGE money maker. In fact let me ask you how the lines for rides were? I’m sure they were quite short for you. As others were there for Haunt itself, and allowed ppl like you to enjoy the short ride lines. If not for Haunt, you wouldn’t get that… at all… They’d be much like they were at Kings Dominion was this past weekend and 2+ hours long. Not Fridays as KI. And then you mentioned Winterfest… *sigh* it. Didn’t. make. Money. Period. The end. Done. They tried, if you’ll remember, in 2005 to revive it. It failed HORRIBLY!!! They could barely pay the staff that worked it. People just don’t care too much about it. Again, sure they could market it differently, but lets be honest… it’s Cedar Fair. Ppl can go ice skate across the street at the Beach or go to Fountain Square which has more ambience. Perhaps you should lean towards your own advice that I’m hearing… If you don’t like it, don’t go. If you’re just there for the rides, then enjoy the fact that there are things to keep people occupied so you can have a way shorter line. */end rant

Personally for me... Kings Dominion.... just due to the stupidity of not having fully operational rides and rude/dumb employees on opening day. No one hate on me, I am giving it another shot in October... but as of this point... They're lucky they have avalanche and volcano lol oh and Pam

oooo... no wildebeast? honestly tho you could totally hit the waterpark and ALL the rides in the park easy. just sayin I totally second this restaurant choice!! $10 for an entree and 3 sides, plus the free drinks. its awesome. and i'll second gobbler getaway being awesome!!! and again with the Raven, Legend, Voyage order personally i <3 Legend

if you get there for ERT try to head for Dominator first, it tends to start early and then go behind the tower to the gate by the tiques as it'll be less crowded (if it even is) and you can headoff left to 305 if you want to beat the crowd then hit volcano, and avalanche. Those seemed to be the longest wait rides. I'm not a fan of this park at all... but they do have great rides~ and Pam is awesome! but I know i don't complain about KI rides being down and rude employees after being to KD. good luck! oh and if your looking for a place to stay the best western right there in the parking lot is a pretty decent hotel, and has a pass discount and you can walk across the parking lot

Yes.... Sorry had to hear hear. I mean not all of us are going back to work, so I don't have anything to worry about *insert angel smiley here* buuuutttt... It's still fun to know Oh that just sucks. I already a had a group planning on going on a Sunday. I can understand cutting out the Thurs nights, but the Sunday we went last year was awesome. Yeah those days did potentially stink... but at the same time i was totally looking forward to going after work every thurs this year!!! can i just applaud this whole thing? First off, in the water park is a stretch, and i'm saying this as a smoker. And reading this, I'm in my head going "There's a smoking area by Planet Snoopy?!?!" I had no idea and there should not be a smoking area in the kids area. 100% agreed on that. And i agree that people will sneak off to smoke, I've seen it anywhere and everywhere (even at the zoo) So, you consider Diamondback's exit, the center of Coney Mall's midway, a path to Planet Snoopy, and one directly next to the main gate "out of the way"? 1. the main gate one is quite a ways off to the side, on the other side of the restrooms! it doesn't really affect the guests. ever. took me forever to realize there was something in that corner. does it affect the employees walking in that way, perhaps. but not the guests. this spot is null. 2 DB's exit is kind of a stretch... if they stay there, and actually go around the corner, which could use a bench to get ppl away from the midway and patio) then its not bad 3. i don't think i've ever seen this plant snoopy one. 4. the coney mall one is kind of a stretch and an iffy. i dont ever notice it. at all. especially if the ppl are actually smoking in the middle of it like they're supposed to and not around the outside area right on the midway. i keep forgetting its there acutally And as for the whole Tower Gardens bit. I think its a GREAT idea!!! Honestly how many of you complaining walked through there everyday you were there last year? Oh? you didnt? ok. now that thats over with... Everyone complains about how trashy it is and how much upkeep they have to do that they're avoiding it til it gets done. Well the park thought hmmm.. how can we bring ppl into the Garden? I love it!! i can walk around in there and smoke if i want, and its full of people now! no one used to ever walk through it. ppl would go around to the emporium and stay on the pavement. Now its kinda bustling. and its a great place to just chill and relax and destress to go ride another ride. I love the Tower Gardens smoking area.

Because of Intimidator 305. ugh. and if one coaster is enough... but sadly that is the main reason... I don't get the hype of KD, its kinda like all the crappy parts of KI all at once and all rolled together... It's a form of band wagoning in my mind. KD was, and still is in my mind a piece o' dung with a great coaster plopped in the middle(actually, more towards the right). I would like to define this as: Coasternaticbandowagonism if I may. All in good fun people. ROFL i literally lol'ed on this one. But its SOOO true... emphasis added... but i'm totally disagreeing with your last sentence O:) but i'm sure you knew that was coming... they're an experience alright, But i will totally give it to Volcano and Avalance, and heck even Dominator maybe But I definately put my vote to Carowinds (As much as Jackson hates me for it lol) The people are amazing, its gorgeous and well themed albeit the ride names could contain the word "Carolina" a little less. I honestly can't think of a single moment that i was there and had any type of "bad experience" Whoops brain fart. minus the whole lap bar not being put down on the mine ride, but when i look back on it how many ppl have had a truly "thrilling" ride on their rinky dink mine ride haha. That and they have one thing that KI doesn't have... a B&M invert *swoon* But i have not been to Knotts or Canada's Wonderland, so this may be premature, but I'm hitting CW over the 4th of July weekend, and Knotts has to wait until October, for reasons known O:) hopefully

Now see, I sat on maverick's brake run for at least 20 minutes if not longer, idk the time flew by. and no sooner had we "parked" there and the train behind us, there was a ride op running to the spiral staircase and one walking out to us. They didn't tell us more than "theres a mechanical issue and maintenance has been called" but they were there and 5 or so minutes later they were back out again just to say they were on their way. Not much of an update, but at least they were doing something. And Andrew our ride op was hilarious and joking with us for the few minutes he was out there. It was nice that they just talked to us rather than at TTD later that night when it was over a half hour and they said NOTHING!!! not one word to us. And I know later at Maverick, Tracy had a rollback, and before they even parked back to launch position a ride op was under the track talking to them letting them know what was up, and everyone was safe, and what was going on. I loved it! I hate you I was totally on the ride platform during that time were you the 1st or 2nd train in a row that had the rollback http://web.archive.o...its.cfm?et_id=1 The kind of integrity that would sell out unit holders for $11.50 per unit while collecting multi-millions for oneself? Or the kind of integrity that cuts out benefit after benefit for lower paid employees while enhancing one's own golden parachute? Or the type of integrity that claims food prices went up by a nickel or so, when reality was more like 7 percent or more? Or the type of integrity that, with a straight face, claims the best qualified candidate to be the general manager of Carowinds is the CEO's son? Is that what we are talking about? I, for one, think those are darn good Q's. *STANDS UP AND APPLAUDS* have i told you i <3 you lately *giggles* I'm all of 5' 7" maybe 8" on a good day depending on the shoes, and Corkscrew hurt the he** out of my shoulders and back. i was slouched down basically sittin on my tailbone. My boyfriends 6' 6" and has to ride a few of the rides by himself so he can turn his legs to fit in or try to slouch. He has to do the walk of shame on the mine ride for crying out loud, because of his stature, not his weight. Even Magnum was a hard fit not in a front seat. The whole seatbelt issue is just stupid. They've obviously worked just fine before, with no one dying b/c of a seatbelt. so theres no excuse why in the heck they would have to shorten them. When an average sized woman who has hips like 75% of other ppl has a slight issue with them, good lord... oh and don't ride red train if you have issues. most of them are the shorter ones.

James Cole: There is some kind of brake on the drop now. I just spoke with Clint after he rode it he seems to think that it my be the first instalment of the trims,and the lift seemed slower. The lift seems the same to me,but even Clint said the ride was slower than it was. Not cool. But yes I'll give Mav a bit of credit. the rides are similar in the fact that you do have to be defensive to ride them. I'm mixed on this one really. part of me believes they need to be there, for safety reasons, on the whole if you have to be slightly defensive you can't do that unconscious, but I tunnel on both 305 and millie, and some times it worries/bothers/scares me, other times its great... idk we'll see when i head back there in oct

But i have ridden it before the trim. And you can't go too much on the KD site as of yet, b/c how many of them have actually ridden it? They just put them on!! Today's the first day with them on. How many of those on that fan site have ridden it since?

Have you ridden it yet? From what i'm hearing from a good friend who i'm pretty sure holds the record number of rides, its right there at the top, takes out all the air time and the ride is incredibly slower now on the drop... so much so that he's given up riding it for the day/week....

you totally beat me to this just another reason to not go back to this park... *sigh*

See I liked it and even my little brother loved it. the only problem i had tho is that it seemed you couldn't really hit any of the targets because of the angle they were at. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong/have really bad aim but the 3 of us were only able to hit 2 maybe 3 targets out of the 10-15 in there... maybe just maybe they're tweaking it? *crosses fingers*

you should be fine that weekend. graduation parties and whatnot start up so that means less ppl in the park as well

Actually, a few of the things that have been mentioned the park employees do not do. Have you seen a park employees making improvements to The Crypt? Or maybe park employees working on the Tower Gardens waterfalls? This is the kind of thing we will try to do. I myself will enjoy doing these things. Ditto. I mean I'm sure its in someones job description to actually do this, but its farther down the list (*cough*like top guns paint job*cough*) But there are little things we would be able to do. and I'm stressing LITTLE things. planting a tree or 2 or some flowers, i could see that easily. mechanical work and heavy lifting regardless f exp or licenses... not so much. but like me and alluna both pointed out, yes there will be issues, yes it will take time, yes bring yourself down just a step or 2, cuz your hopes are starting to get a smidge high, but don't give up on everything like that. I mean you went from an appt to talk to them, to not doing anything, to agreeing to set up meetings? Thats one thing about your idea... if your gonna stick with it, stick with it.. your not, then get out now...

*emphasis added* When i see this i don't see complaining at all... well i do see it, but only by those complaining about complaining.... *cough* What i see here is a simple help at editing. No one stated anything about commas or crap being missing. People were SIMPLY STATING things that could be changed to help better the legitimacy of KI's Site. Like the YouTube link... seems like a pretty big error to me. For all we know there's only 1 or 2 ppl keeping the site up. And maybe they have to do their own editing. Ever tried to edit your own paper? Did you find every mistake every time? I doubt it. Do you know how to legitimately build a website? at least of KI's size? From code? (not like simple premade myspace/geocities setups). I doubt that too, b/c if you did, you'd understand exactly how hard and time consuming it is to go and make sure every single little tiny bit of coding is 100% correct/accurate. They may not have the time/funds to look at every single little bit of whatever. but obviously they have looked at this post and have fixed those mistakes. and if able to post i'm sure there would be a big "thank you so much i can't believe i missed that" post. So seriously if you're gonna whine and complain about whining and complaining... then just don't look at this page? simple really. you kinda gave yourself advice now lets go play practice what you preach
