You would be more jealous if I told you about our plans for the last week of June/ First week of July..... I hope I'm able to arrange what we would like to do....
-
As always, I love your TR's!! Sorry we had to miss most of last weekend..... Tonight, we looked at the forecast for Sandusky, took a little "family vote", and unanimously decided to delay CP until Sunday. Then we took a second vote, with the result being that we are going to KI tomorrow night! There you have it, democracy in action!!! LOL.

Cedar Point reveals new signs
BavarianBeatle replied to gigacoaster2k's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Based on the weather forecast, we have postponed our visit until Sunday. Having worked in downtown Cleveland for 9 years, I know that 20 mph winds off the lake, combined with off and on rain, are not pleasant. -
I believe that wind could also have an effect on the height of the rooster tails on DB.

I've never been a "marathon" person, except the one weeknight in 2007 when the kids decided they wanted to ride The Beast then go home. It was a walk on and they wanted to go again, so we wound up doing six dusk/night rides, the last of which was after the fireworks.

There's a new Bank A Ball game by DB's final helix. The girl working there last weekend asked my kids if they wanted to win their Mom a big prize for Mother's Day. I had to say "DON'T!!! DON'T!!! DON'T" before they told her that their Mother is dead. (which, in fact, is true). Didn't want to give that poor girl a complex so early in the season!!! The smoking area near DB's entrance has been removed. BLSC has a LOT of rust! The effects in the last tunnel of AE aren't working. Guess I won't pay this year.... unless I eat at the park! LOL!!!!

That brought back memories of my first trip last year with the kids. We went straight from the rope drop to The Voyage and got the back car on the second train of the day. After that ride we agreed that if we had to leave and go home right then, the trip was worth it..... Only one ride on Raven? I love that little coaster!!!! And the more I ride it the better it gets. And Kat's "no trim brakes!!!!" comment was exactly what my kids said, and with the same look on their faces! Thanks for a great TR, you captured a day at HW very well!!

You should have said hi or something! Don't be shy! I would have, but you were already strapped in your seat when I noticed you....
-
Saw you guys on FoF. We were second in line the car in front of you when you got on. It was my son's first ride on it and the launch was making him a bit nervous. But once he rode it, he loved it, as I knew he would. Glad you had fun!

Hand Driers, Swine Flu and Towels
BavarianBeatle replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The same could be said of every public place. For example, holding the rails on an escalator, pushing an elevator button, pushing open the door of a mall or department store, pumping gas, etc. I won't even mention handling cash..... -
If they allowed it to be scanned more than once someone who looked similar to the person the pass belonged to (a twin or sibling for example) could be handed the pass somehow and get into the park on that pass. If you DO get a stamp and it washes off go to guest relations and they will let you into the park after scanning your pass to confirm it is you. They cannot do that at the front gate because a red X appears. I had that problen three years ago. I took my kids on a Saturday in October. Then they spent the night with my parents and my girlfriend at the time wanted to go to the Haunt (Fear Fest at the time). As I remember I just went to GR, they looked up my information, I showed my license and they let me in. It was fast and easy.

Two B & M coasters have valleyed and, now, one has had to be evacuated this season. Not a very good start, IMO..... Edit: I'm not saying that these incidents are related, just seems like an unusual string of unfortunate events!

The Beast is always first. Then DB. Then we go to Action Zone and skip ahead of everyone working there way through Coney and ride Delerium, Drop Tower, Flight Deck and SoB. Then we take a break and do AE and Racer. If the lines aren't bad, we will do FoF and/or Firehawk (my youngest is too short for them, so that's kind of hard), and I will let the kids do whatever flats they want in Coney. Then Vortex and perhaps BLSC. After that its usually lunch in the car, then we go up the Tower. After that its pretty random! The Beast night ride, of course, is last!!!

Every year I'm above ground is a good year.... Hope I'm still there at the end of this one!

Virtually every ride has a procedure. All of the 48 inch rides have childrens waiting areas. I always threaten to put my kids "in the cage" if they act up in the que lines....

Unofficial KIC Road Trip
BavarianBeatle replied to XGatorHead 8904's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
We will certainly be there in the evening. Friday nights at KI are pretty much a tradition here!!! I love the first drop on The Beast after a long week at work!! I can almost feel the stress being pulled out of me!!! You are doing great with your daughter! Our kids obviously have good genes... -

Thank you very much! -
No. For two possible reasons: 1. By 2013, KI has added two more coasters that make DB pale in comparison, resulting in short waits for DB and eliminating the necesity for a separate line (I wish!!), or ... 2. The world ends on December 21, 2012...... LOL!!

Unofficial KIC Road Trip
BavarianBeatle replied to XGatorHead 8904's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm not going Friday. I may go Saturday or Sunday depending on my work schedule. I avoid the park like the plague on math and science days. I don't have a lot of patience in the first place.. I'd rather not go to the park when it's jam packed with busloads of bratty line jumpers. Actually, if its worth the drive for you, getting to Math & Science Days around 5 or 6 in the evening usually results in a very pleasant evening, especially after a long week at work! -

These are my two favorites so far!! -
I thought I saw you on The Racer. You were leaving while we were waiting to get on. Friday was an absolutely wonderful evening at the park. My first "shorts and sandals" night of the season!!
-
I don't think it looks so bad now....
-
What a wonderful night!!!! The kids and I did 12 rides in a little over three hours, including DB and The Beast first and last!!! We were all very tired at around 9 though, so we left a little early......

For those at KI tonight, y'alls better post a TR!
