I was hoping you'd take it that way. I haven't heard about the dinos going extinct...again...so I hope they will be. It's a nice walk in the woods for those of us Jurassic Park fans.

Dollywood is fairly predictable most of the time (at least from a guest perspective), so I'd be highly surprised if they didn't.
-
If it wasn't interesting, that would be pretty boring...so I think you think correctly. Just pointing out obvious obviousnesses to be obviously annoying.

Dollywood has bins for ALL of their rides. You will have no issues whatsoever. They will gladly set it on the shelf for you and you'll pick it up as you leave. There isn't a single ride where you are forced to get a locker. DW is much too friendly for that.

Dorney's Thunderhawk to Get a Facelift

Whew...dodged a bullet on that one! NADs are my favorite trains. I love the way they ride. -
I don't seem to remember much going on in either of my two seasons, but I still thoroughly enjoyed both of them!

When did that happen? They were still 3 in 2009. I even went back and looked at pictures to verify I wasn't nuts. ...well...I'm nuts...but about that...no. -
There is a road that the pattern and angle of the curves always puts me in mind of the section of Beast after the graveyard tunnel. The funny part is that it has a railroad track and long gradual hill right after, so I always make ARB sounds as if it's lift 2.

Dorney's Thunderhawk to Get a Facelift

High Roller just about broke my heart. It would be such an amazing ride if it was allowed to be. The NADs with buzz bars and the design are rather reminiscent of a certain coaster from Middletown. I said that for a couple years and it was mentioned to me that during construction of High Roller, the designers came and looked at Screechin' Eagle...though it was called Space Rocket back then. What I wouldn't give for a ride on it running the way it was supposed to. Good ole buzz bars are my favorite restraints! I wish there were more of them around! -
I'm just throwing out there that it seems rather sexist to allow women to wear hairstyles that are long, short, middle - no required length, but males only have one option. Longer hair can be just as well maintained and looks just as professional as short. It's also become accepted by society since the 1950s when the dress code seems to have been written...thank you Disney... To go on, why is it that I have had quite a number of teaching jobs, where professionalism is a high standard, and I've also worked at Dollywood, run by a conservative Christian company, and none of them have ever questioned a pony tail, while Cedar Fair, which runs extremely cutting edge, modern amusement parks, has a dress code that won't allow me to work rides with one? It makes zero sense...so until it changes, no working Beast for me.

Dorney's Thunderhawk to Get a Facelift
dare-to-fly replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
A friend of ours was picking on CF for naming things with the name Hawk...and you forgot Nighthawk...and said once, "One day they're going to break down and just name a ride 'Steelhawk.'" ...then they did... Now he said he has to make it even more unlikely and went with an RCT style name and says, "Wooden Roller Coaster 1 Hawk." -
Snowman nothing. I build a snow-lie coaster. There wasn't enough snow for it this year though.

A sign saying singles will be paired implies that they will put single riders together to shorten long lines. Unless it specifically says no single riders, it's just that they reserve the right to make the 4 teenagers who all want their own car ride 2 and 2, or for them to put two strangers together to get extra people on. I have ridden HW's Scrambler solo before. It's not a formal policy.

I'd rather it not get new trains, but I'm glad it's getting some love. -
It is way shorter than I want to get.

Meanwhile At Brand SIX
dare-to-fly replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I agree, Great America was excellent when I went! The only complaint was the Goliath crew but other than that it looked like they cared, which is something you don't see often in operations at SIX I'm glad to know you agreed about Great America. I haven't been for several years, but I've always really enjoyed it. It's not just about the crews and caring for me, but about the whole experience all around. In general, I have had good experiences at most Six Flags parks, which by the way in include Great Adventure, America, Great America, Kentucky Kingdom, St. Louis, Magic Mountain, and Over Georgia. I tend to enjoy parks both big and small and have always wondered why so many rag on America. The only park that I have yet to have a good experience yet is often stated as others' favorite Six Flags. Hopefully someday I'll have a good experience in Georgia, but so far not. I love the coasters, but the rest of the experience has left much to be desired all three times. -
chugh43 is correct. The "problem" footing from opening year was just after the third hill on the way back down. I have a video of it...but I'm not posting that one. That said, I suppose it's possible that a separate trouble spot existed later. Every coaster has one. As an example, Tennessee Tornado has a footing just over the lift that has to be replaced pretty much every year, and there doesn't seem to be any convenient way to fix the problem long-term. It's just a fact of life and nothing to worry about.

Which Kings Island Roller Coaster Are You?
dare-to-fly replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Okay...I'm a bit scared to do this. The last time I took a quiz about which Kings Island ride I was most like, it was Lazytown Sportacopters. ...but I'll be a sport. Edit for a time lapse. I also came back with Vortex. This is usually where I re-do it until it comes back with what I want...which of course is The Beast. But...I won't. -
Paula is incredible at what she does! I never want her to retire because she is too entertaining just to see what stunt she tries to pull next! And to think, after coming back from a long break from KIC, it took me three whole days to mention the wretched things! I'll try to keep that under control.
