lol I think that Paramount parks has made tremendous improvements at PKI. Every year there is something new to look forward to. I have been a season pass holder for years! My wife thinks I am a big kid going to PKI tomorrow in freezing weather to see a bunch of dirt but I am a freak. I need therapy. Someone please help me.

New Water Park Resort Receives Green Light
familyman replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
It was a cold Morning in January. I could hear the sweet sounds of chainsaws and the gentle humming of the diesel engines of the bulldozers and land movers waiting to move in and make way for something new and exciting. lol I agree that the campsite was full during the summer. But PKI has an opportunity to fill a space year round. They did the math and reality took over. I like the idea someone put out that there looking at relocating the campsite at the rear of the property behind SOB. -
I'd bet money that the 4 people that voted no will be there tomorrow.

New Water Park Resort Receives Green Light
familyman replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Take a look at an aerial show of CP and one of PKI. Notice anything different? How about all that water around CP for starters. They are landlocked! And since there are those who are complaining about the price of the new resort take a look at what most of CP's hotels and resorts charge. There are plenty of people with $$$ that will pay to stay. -
Let me get this straight. There are people here that are so upset about the campsite closing that they have actually stated they will never come back to PKI. This is the same campsite that sits on a busy road. Not to mention across from a comfy hotel. I enjoyed the campsite folks but let’s face it this change is for the better. Were talking about summer fun year round people! Try this on for size. How about an annual post season blowout party for PKIC members at the new digs? You can look out your hotel window and see the park. I am sure PKI has plans on moving the campsite.

New Water Park Resort Receives Green Light
familyman replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Is PKI building this, or have they leased the land and another company is building it? -
From the form from last year you only save $4 if you’re a member and have a season pass at PKI. I would be loosing money on the deal. I think I will just pay the $20 as a PKI season pass member. Here is the link from last years form. http://www.coasterbuzz.com/pdf/beastbuzz2004.pdf

PKI to host "Italian Job: Stunt Track" const. tour
familyman replied to Shaggy's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Is there any plan for members of this site to meet up? It would be nice to put a name to a face if i'm able to make it down for the tour. A group picture with a caption below it with members names would be kool. Just a thought! -
There is still unused space in the park. So I would say there is no need to add a new area. I will say that is the rumors are true about adding on to the Nick area I am looking forward to it.

I loved the landscaping back then.

PKI to host "Italian Job: Stunt Track" const. tour

I remember it well. I would check it out when they were finishing the Wild Thornberry’s ride. They do bring people to the website and keep them coming back. -

How about to instill a little excitement about the new attraction? Cedar Point has had great success promoting there new rides through the use of webcams. You can always check them out on CP’s website. I personally enjoy check these out during foul weather. Promotion is the name of the game. -
CP announces maXair
familyman replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I agree. CP's waterpark is an upcharge as a park guest. I would never pay extra to go to the waterpark area. -
Sounds like a good time. What all is involved that day? Is there a cost?

I enjoyed King Cobra. The drop was pretty kool. The hills and the little slant at the end were my favorites about the ride. That drop though did make your stomach drop! I hated to see it go but like all good things life goes on.

I don’t think we need another standup. A floorless would be kool. Perhaps themed after the Adams Family?

I know CP starts decorating in September. My wife and I snuck up there for a weekend a few years ago and were blown away with some of the decorations for Halloweekends. There are more to Haunted attractions than one would think. Fire codes, Throughput, and cost to name a few. It takes time for an amusement park to build up to what I am sure will be a huge success for PKI.

A couple of larger family rides.

With the weather we have been having I would say May if were lucky. But your right Dane, hopefully all the information we all need will come during the tour. This has got to be one off the weirdest winters I have seen. I don’t know how the weather has been down in Cinci but here in Columbus we’ve been buried in snow and ice, lost power, and now were being flooded.
