  1. I drove past the park earlier on my way up to the racino in Monroe...the sign looks amazing!
  2. Here's my list, and it's limited only to Kings Island... 1. Son of Beast (2000-2006): Rode it without the loop in 2009, curious to see how different of an experience it was with the loop and Premier trains. 2. King Cobra: Remember hearing about it and always wanted to ride it, but never got the chance to. I've never been on a stand-up before. Might stop in to Carowinds on my way to Savannah, GA in June- Vortex will definitely be on my list to ride if I do. 3. The Bat (1981-1984): Wanted to see the differences between the first Arrow suspended and what we have today. 4. Backwards Racer (1982-2007): Rode the forward Racer many many times during that time, but for some reason never got on the backward side. The first year I got a pass in 10 or 15 years, it was changed so that both go forward.
  3. Don, glad to see you back on the forums buddy!
  4. One similar to Diamondback at the entrance of the ride. Allows you to see if you'll be able to ride without doing the walk of shame...
  5. I haven't heard anything, but I believe it's been established that there will be "big boy" seats similar to Gatekeeper. 33 days away! Not that I'm counting down or anything...
  6. Exactly 3 months to the TENTATIVE Media Day. I'm excited to ride this thing!
  7. Congratulations Don! By the picture that I saw he was in the front row on Red.
  8. Yeah I've lived in the Cincinnati area my entire life (grew up in Colerain, moved to Cleves for 4 years and now live in Anderson). 2006 was my senior year of college and my list trip there was the week before I graduated. As I got older and entered the "real world" as they say, my interests in life changed, as well as those of my friends and brother. I stopped getting season passes a couple years before that, but I still planned on trying to get there once a year. It just never happened for whatever reason. And besides, I had been to the park so many times that I was burnt out! I did make it to Cedar Point twice in that span, but a Kings Island visit just never materialized. And like Terp said as you get older, the rides start to take more of a toll on you than they ever did as a kid! I held up ok yesterday but there were times where I started to get a headache, or felt a little nauseous. Thankfully my Beast right was about as smooth as it gets on that ride or I would have been hurting at that point of the day! Terp, I am actually not the guy who was coming up from Atlanta. I read his posts though so I know who you are talking about. Understandable. I myself am in the Eastgate area. Have had a pass since 2008 and try to get out on occasion but schedule wise it's rarely possible.
  9. If you've already visited, hope you enjoyed and look forward to your thoughts regarding it. For me, I absolutely recommend Diamondback in Row 2, Beast in Row 1 at night (well worth the wait). Vortex and FD's first drop is amazing in 7-1 but 5-1 is the seat in which Ron Toomer designed the ride around. The first drop is so much more fun to me in 7-1 on both.
  10. Thank you for the trip report. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. You said you hadn't been to the park since 2006, are you still in the Cincinnati area?
  11. I'd keep it as is...some people come for the rides and not for the Haunts. Why pay admission if all you're after is a 1:00am ride on The Beast?
  12. Thanks for the report! Was wondering how the crowds were last night. I went to the Lewisburg Haunted Cave on the other side of Dayton last night and it made for a very muddy time...
  13. Thanks for the report! I was there Friday night as well. Crowds weren't as bad as the opening Saturday a couple of weeks back. Didn't do any Haunt mazes but I did get rides in on Flight of Fear, Vortex, and Diamondback in the short time I was there.
  14. I got the boneless wings, order of 12, when I was at the KIC event a couple Sundays back. Had the opportunity to eat here. The wings were delicious, and the price was on par of a similar establishment outside of the park. I say try it, definitely the best food value in the park!
  15. My favorite seat on Invertigo and Firehawk? The red Ford Focus parked out in Row 53. Haven't had a ride on Diamondback in Row 10 or back in a couple of years. I'll have to try it again as I've heard it jackhammers real bad.
  16. Don't think I've ever seen a thread like this on KIC, of course I could always be wrong! When you ride the coasters at the park, what seat or row is your "go to" row? I'll share a few of mine. The Beast: first row, definitely at night. Can't see anything in front of you. Diamondback: Rows 1 or 2, nothing in front of you but pure track. Makes the first drop that much better for me. Vortex: 5-1 is a must, honorable mention 7-1. Amazing coming down the first drop Flight Deck: The first drop and the ride altogether seems much more enjoyable in 7-1 Additionally, I had my first front row ride on The Racer last night. Racer's PTC trains have much less legroom in the front than The Beast's PTC trains.
  17. Arrived around 9:30pm to find a decent sized parking lot. Parked in Row 53 and proceeded to the main entrance. Ended up getting a lot of rides in the few hours I was there. Diamondback in Row 2, a front seat ride on Blue Racer, a front seat ride on The Beast, 2 rides in 7-1 on Flight Deck, and a ride in the last train, first row on Adventure Express. Went through two Haunt zones, the first being Cornstalkers and the other Backwoods Bayou. Currently writing this at the Haunt hangout, Steak and Shake on Fields Ertel. A LOT of KI and KIC people here. Decent time tonight up at the park. Hope to check out more of the mazes within the next couple of weeks. Until next time...
  18. I still have problems remembering the names of some of the people I work with...
  19. It's all good buddy. I have a horrible memory when it comes to remembering names when I first meet someone.
  20. Talk about a blast from the past...thanks for posting Ryan, brings back memories!
  21. It may still be there, but it doesn't spew out gak! I miss those days, I grew up with Nickelodeon but at least I checked out Nickelodeon Studios back in 1998 when I went to Universal Orlando. These days, some blue guys are running the show...
  22. What is the best way to get to Cedar Point from Cincinnati? Take I-75 up to Bowling Green and take 6 from there to Sandusky or take I-71? What do you all do when you head up there?
  23. This brings back memories. I remember the slime maze that was there and wanting to go through it so bad, but never had the chance to.
  24. I renewed for 2014 and went with the Platinum Pass.
  25. You'd think with the 21st century and technology the way that it is, that all of this would be digital. Could already be, I don't have a passport...
