The only time a PKI employee has talked to me is when they want to take my picture at the entrance of the park and then sell me over priced copies of it. I have had better customer relation experiances at Wal*Mart then I have had at PKI for the last 10 years. It seems to get worse every year as they cut more money out of the budget. The upper management of Paramount Parks sounds like a great group of people; I hope they stick around. But they can't do their job if the parent company doesn't give them the funds to do so. That being said, like I said before, it is the bean counters (the upper management at Viacom and CBS) that caused Kings Island to suffer. The local management wants nothing but the best for the park, but if their jobs are threatened, they have no choice but to cut corners. -adam12

I really think that's unfair to the people who worked at the parks, and at Paramount Parks office in Charlotte. I think those people really did "love what they do" and always tried to put their best into the parks. (Not to mention that a lot of the executives in the park division predated Paramount/Viacom/CBS anyway.) I'm talking about the senior management at Viacom... All they care about is the bottom line, they could care less what people think until it starts cutting in to profit. It is a very reactive way to manage an organization that normally ends up in disaster. On the other hand, CF seems to be very proactive. But now that it is done, it feels better than I could have ever imagined. -adam12 Well, speaking as a unit holder...Cedar Fair had better be in it for the money, too! Remember everyone...it's the theme park business. I know they are there to make money, but do you remember the saying "love what you do"? Viacom was just a bunch of bean counters, CF really cares about the parks; they are not just a source of income.

Because it cannot be easily de-themed and the land could be better be used for a different project. Even if they got rid of the name ITALIAN JOB - it is still a Mini cooper ride - and still themed to Italian Job movie - even if the name is different. Take away all the theming - and you have nothing. If they removed IJST, there would only be about 2 or 3 people that wouldn't go to Kings Island anymore and I think they are members of this site. I really hope CF strips Kings Island of ALL (except Nickelodeon stuff, that crap draws a lot of guests) things Paramout including theming. -adam12

1.) I posted several times becuause I want to make it easy for people to know what I'm commenting on, IE quoting others posts. 2.) Isn't that what this site is all about VOICING YOUR OPINION? lol, I will give it a few years. It definatly isn't why people come to PKI. It will be there as long as there are people in the line. I wouldn't wait over 10 min to ride it, I do know that. The first time I rode it I waited an hour to get on the thing. When I got off it, Jeff Seibert was standing there and I almost had to say something to him about the ride. It is WAY over rated, and not worth the hour I waited! I also noticed the cars aren't build well either; there where already cracks in the fiber glass around the door hinges, and this was like the second week of operation. -adam12

IJST is one of my favorite attractions in the park. I was at the park just last weekend with several first time PKI visitors who have gone to many other parks, and they LOVED IJST. The very first words out of one of the people's mouth was "That was fun!" And no, these were not kids, these were coaster veterans older than I. My argument on this forum about you since I first read your post was that you can say you don't like Paramount, or a specific ride, but you can't go around calling rides "the worst rides" in the park and not back it up with hard proof. I hope IJST spends MANY more years in the park! That is not spamming, I was just expressing my point to someone that had not heard it before. Kings Island always use to direct people where to park. The lack of direction (like everything else) is a paramount thing. They did parking just like everything else, with the half a$$ed paramount charm. -adam12

Actually Colonel Parker had a bad gambling problem. He worked Elvis like a horse to feed this problem and neither of them had a huge amount of money when they died. The Colonel gambled it all away and Elvis gave it all away and had a HUGE pay roll. -adam12

I feel very much the same about IJST, it isn't worth my time to wait more than 5-10 min in line for that ride. -adam12

All I know is what ever Paramount plays isn't anywhere close to what it should be for the theming in the different areas. This makes the park seem smaller because you don't feel like you are entering different areas of the park... The only part of the park where the music fits the theming is River Town. Coney Mall should be music from the 20's through the 50's. International Street should be more classical music to make the Royal Fountain seem grander. Just as a side note, this just proves that even after 13 years Paramount still doesn't get what Kings Island is all about. -adam12
