Kings Island has just announced that smoking will indeed be confined to designated smoking areas this year. There will be 19 areas around the park designated for smoking. PKI Goes Smoke Free

I voted FoF because IJST isn't even expected to open by the parks opening day. Did anyone notice how the media day for IJST is in May and not the parks first day? They aren't planning on opening IJST on opening day of the park.

The MF turn takes up a LARGE amount of space, which means the force of doing the turn is spread out over a much larger area. You experience more force on MF's turn, but that force is spread out more, whereas IJST's turn will not have as much force total, but it will take place in a less amount of time and space. So it all depends on the force/time ratio on how much force you feel at that instant. This science moment has been brought to you by Uncle Henry.

Actually, considering the top speed is about 100 mph at the BOTTOM of the first hill, the speed in the first overbank would probably be about 50 mph. Still faster than IJST, but IJST overbank is alot tighter than MF's, so IJST's would probably be more intense.

This ban will make is easier to enforce. Security doesn't go into ride queues very often, so it's harder to enforce. Since smoking is banned everywhere now, security will have a better chance of stopping them. Also, since signs will be ALL over the park instead of lines, people will (most likely) see them.

At the ACE winter meeting today, Maureen Kaiser spoke about IJST and showed her now famous DVD (made with Jeff Siebert). She also dropped a hint at something that may come to PKI in 2005. She said there were more announcements to be made, "possibly within the next week." She said we'd enjoy these additions that would "help us eat better, help us breathe better."
