  1. Yeah, they don't consider it a coaster why should we? I mean, who would consider a ride with the model name, "Disko Coaster" a coaster?
  2. ther? jus? unitl? What language is this...
  3. OH NOES!!! DROP ZONE IS GUNNA FALLZ OVUR!!!! Seriously, where did you come up with that? And didn't you make a whole topic with that? Why repost it?
  4. So what about Tumble Bug? DEE DEE DEE (?) Doesn't use gravity if I'm thinking about the right ride.
  5. Dodgems doesn't have track, or run on gravity... DEE DEE DEE
  6. Then let me clear it up. It certainly may be a cool ride for kids and family, but it certainly is not a rollercoaster. And your proof for this is? Just because it is small, doesn't mean it isn't a coaster. Superman: The Escape in SFMM has even less tower/hills, it only has ONE! Yet that is considered a coaster on RCDB because of its size. It most certainly IS a coaster, just a smaller one.
  7. When the press release for NU came out, it was called a coaster. It was on RCDB for awhile, but then word that it was a disko hit RCDB came out, they took it off. It is a rollercoaster though. The official model name for this large disko is a "Disko Coaster". Zamperla calls it a coaster, PKI calls it a coaster. If Superman: The Escape is considered a coaster on RCDB, so should Avatar.
  8. I don't see how anyone could call those carnival rides. I mean, just look at Avatar! That's rather large for a kid coaster.
  9. Wow, I really like those construction pics of Survivor! That's looking like a really awesome ride! Makes me want to go to cali (Of course, I am a fan of Survivor, so I do have a bias)
  10. If he really wants to be a character, tell him to be an escort. The Nickelodeon Parade has characters that don't need the full body costumes (Like Sporticus last season). He might be able to be one of those guys.
  11. That part of IJ and Face-Off are the only rides where the forces are really intense enough to cause a near black out. I've never blacked out, but I've felt woozy though.
  12. Troika Troika Troika, I made you for my park...

    Breaking news

Except Maureen confirmed the PKD one wasn't opening at the Winter Soar.
  14. OK, I assumed you could animate with Form Z because of the animate window. I get what you're saying.
  15. It is harder than it looks, especially when the program you use does things you don't tell it to do, like randomly change the plane of reference, and move supports at its own free will (Both of which happened while making my model).
  16. Yes, but as I started working with the program last thursday, I don't know how to do that feature yet.

    3d PKI

So as many of you may know, I am currently a student at UC studying digital design. We are just starting 3d programs, and the very first thing I ever made in the program we are using was Delirium. Yeah, it's not much, but it's the very first thing I've ever made in this program, and we were only allowed to use basic shapes (cubes, cylinders, etc). So have any other people made PKI things in 3d? If so, post pics, and tell us what programyou used and other details about it. Who knows, maybe some day, I'll recreate all of the flat rides in the park (if I 1. get really good at 3D and 2. have lots of time on my hands, which I doubt being in the DAAP program).
  18. As anyone who went to the tour knows, the slime tower in NC is now gone. This was, in my opinion, the main feature of Nickelodeon Central. Feel free to discuss any memories of that slime tower that you have here. Rest in Pieces good friend
  19. I enjoyed it too. We had some fun moments on the tour ("Don! Look! I think they might be filling up the fountain! Take a picture!), and it was interesting to hear the speakers. Of course, wasn't impressed with the Voyage video, since it's already on their website, and I have the program they used to make the video (just not the professional version they used). As always, Maureen's presentation was good, and very fitting. Yes everyone, she does read these forums (and since she does, Thank you once again). She did "The top 10 PKI rumors", and discussed their facts. Brian Kosmac, manager in the rides dept. also spoke and gave some ride operations stories. Let's just say that the Eiffel Tower, Top Gun trashcans, and Face/Off's station can be very scary at times.
  20. I'm so excited to look at a pile of dirt! But anyways, the event after should be fun. I was a speaker at it last year (for my RCT3 videos), and it was enjoyable.
  21. This is very, VERY true. Freaking Drawing class... 3 projects due between now and end of quarter, and thats not counting my quarter book!
  22. Once again, who came up with the original idea for a Survivor coaster? Yeah, does anyone here remember PKIC Survivor: Trek to Tribal Council?
  23. Is it just me, or is that our old friend Jeff at the end of the Cincy Fun ad?
