Cedar Fair Purchases Paramount Parks!
UncleHenry replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom

Decent state? PKI already is at a decent state. If it wasn't, then why did more people visit PKI than CP? Go jump in a lake, you have no idea what you are talking about. Ha! and neither do you. I will give you this... I'm thankful that Paramount kept Kings Island afloat and didn't run it completely into the ground just to make a few bucks. I guess you could say that I have more sprit than I do business sense. I believe you can have both, I would rather take less profit and make Kings Island the best it can be. You all can say what you want, but Kings Island is a very original idea and is nothing like any other amusement park. How many other parks do you know of that had their own employees create a roller coaster? Not just any roller coaster, but The Beast! I don't know for sure, but I bet Cedar Fair puts Kings Island back on the map as an amusement park (like CP) as it was meant to be. I remember going to KI when I was a kid and my dad telling me the difference between Kings Island and Disney World. He told me that I wouldn't like Disney as much as KI because they don't have large rides; they are a theme park. There are 2 reasons why Paramount made a sorry attempt to change Kings Island into a theme park; they wanted to promote all their shows/movies and it is cheaper. -adam12 Um... wasn't PKI the most visited seasonal park in USA last season? I think they were allready on the map...

Yeah, at least Wooferbear has some idea of what he's talking about (even though some of his arguments make no sense). I am yet to see one argument from you as to why you hate the park. At least Wooferbear says why.
-
Oh, and I think Wild Thing (a coaster at a Cedar Fair park) basically falling apart to pieces is a sign...

Point is that yes many parks do still focus on entertainment. This is an area that Paramount should never have been able to conceid to any other park. It's not good that an Entertainment Entity does not do Entertainment. Point Made ..... One Again. My point was that you saying you talked with the guy who did the costumes at CP did not prove your point. You just restated the same argument again with no proof. Stop acting like Bush and making claims that you cannot back up with proof.
-
So what if you talked with a guy who designs the costumes? Does that mean the show is good? That's like me saying I talked with the lighting designer for School of Rock, and then that somehow disproves all of your points. When you make an argument, make it actually prove your point...

Wow, we don't have shows covering the park from one end to the other. I cannot name a SINGLE park that still does. The only exeption might be Dollywood, but thats just because the namesake is a country singer. Parks nowadays realize that the rides come first in the minds of guests, and shows come second. Yes, shows are importaint, but seriously, who goes to an amusement park thinking, "Boy, I sure am excited to see that new show!" Most guests think, "Boy, I sure am excited to ride that ride!" and then if they have time, they go see the show. Yes, compared to the entertainment when the park opened, the entertainment dept may not be as good, but thats probably because shows aren't in the minds of guests as much anymore. So basically, stop comparing PKI to old PKI, but rather compare PKI to other parks. Times change, and I'm sorry that you can't realize that.

Bring back shows? Where have you been, School of Rock and toy factory last year could not only rival but trump ANY show any Cedar Fair park has to offer. The heydey? Kings Island is more popular now than it ever has been. Everybody can ride rides? Thats pretty much the goal of the park now, a family park with something for everyone, like the italian job, designed with family in mind. Uhhh, no. The park used to be for everyone. Grandparents, Parents, College Age Kids or whatever. The shows were a huge part of that and that is a huge part that is for the most part gone. Again, School of Rock, Santa's Toy Factory? The Parade? Wooferbear, you keep saying the same things over and over, and the things you say just aren't true. The entertainment department at the park is awesome now, much better than years past.

Many people do not realize Cedar Point is not Cedar Fair. People look at Cedar Point and think Cedar Fair must be great. Well, I can tell you from experience, Cedar Point is the exception for the company. Michigan's Adventure (a Cedar Fair park) is terrible. Knott's Berry Farm is a pretty decent park, but I feel they only get new rides because of how far away from Cedar Point they are. I fear that if Cedar Fair buys PP, PKI will become a side project like Geagua Lake. While it is impossible to know what their plans are, I am slightly worried that if they do buy PP, it will start PKI on a downturn.

P.S. - UncleHenry - How about them live shows? Ohhhhhh - there are no live shows. So what is School of Rock? Nickelodeon Parade?

*is waiting for wooferbear to make his counter "I HATE PKI PARAMOUNT SUCXXORZ!!!" argument.*
-
If you hate what's happening to it, why don't you actually say something about it to the park? Send them an e-mail, or talk to guest relations on your next trip. Don't whine about it on some fansite, if you TRUELY are upset, talk with the park, not us.
-
So you agree with Son of Beast? Your arguments just lost all validity with that statement.

*VIDEO* Fox 19 Goes behind the Scenes of The Beast
UncleHenry replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Kings Island
Yeah, the video keeps cutting out. Would PKIC be able to work a deal out to get a downloadable, non crappy version of the video? I wanna use this footage to embarrase someone later... (evil laugh here) -
Kingda Ka breakdown 06

Yeah, I saw this a couple days ago. Apparently the catch car or something crashed at top speed. I saw the report at www.coaster-net.com -
Little Bill's Giggle Coaster
-
Actually there is a reason for it being that loud. The anti rollbacks on that ride have to be a lot stronger than any other at KI because of the weight of those trains. Also since the lift is probably the smoothest part of that ride I'd say that is the least of their concerns right now. It's easily fixable, and the trains don't weigh that much since they are smaller than Little Bill's Coaster. LMFAOROFLOLOMGHDN!!! BEST QUOTE EVER!!!

I also heard from a source that the park will tear out every single attraction this winter and build a 40,000 foot long launched inverted wooden 4D coaster that will go up 830 feet up, and have a top speed of 242 mph. It will take up the entire area that once was PKI. My source would beat me up if I told who he was too.

This topic is about HW and CP, not Walnut. That should be PMs. Anyways, I'd say HW. I had a much enjoyable time there than my trip to CP. The staff rocks, free Dew, awesome wood coasters, a much more laid back atmosphere.

My cousin lives in the house he used to live in. It is in the Finneytown area.
