The 5 minute preview...

I also forgot to mention, this video trip report will feature Pat McCabe, from In The Loop and A Walk in the Park. The two of us are planning a second big coaster trip this summer in about a month to Six Flags in Chicago.

In a world, where Kings rule the land, one man must abandon all that he knows, and face... the mouth of hell itself. Flung from his homeland, into a strange and mysterious place, where gods toy with man, and cheese and beer are the main course. Coming soon to YouTube, part one of the continuing saga of "Henry Gale", covering a Mount where men walk among gods, and a "Top Secret" location, where nothing is what it seems. Be sure to catch this year's Manah Manah production... "Wisconsin Dells 2008: Gods and Oddities"

Wow man, long time no hear. Last time I saw you, we were having a *cough* interesting time at Beast. And of course you pick the day I move to Wisconsin as the day to meet people at the park. I already spent my last day at the park till September today. So as founder, are you an instant staff member here? Haha.

KI is alot better than CP is, where several of their rides are not handicapped accessible at all. Still, you have to know the risks that come from these things. If you know pretty much every haunted house has a part where you walk through things hanging from the ceiling (and I know you have the Haunt experience to know this), you should know that eventually, one could very well swing and happen to hit that switch. Yes, the park is working to make these attractions enjoyable for most people (most because these are not designed for children), but you have to know the risks involved in anything you do, same with the rides. The rides do have added seatbelts from the seat to the restraint, but I doubt they will make much difference, if any at all, in your ability to ride rides. Only examples I can think of where the the seatbelt will make a difference are the Arrow OTSR coasters (Vortex and FD). Glad to see you back on the forums.

Does "modern theming" really affect a ride that much? (Mythbusters haha)

I'd fully agree. I can't see how a kid would enjoy a full day at CP. They don't have many rides for them, and I'd say 1/3 of them are the things like Go Diego Go at KI. Of course, CP might have fixed that with their Snoopy area (even though I heard it didn't do too much). KI is usually seen as the more kiddy version of CP, but the mystery construction might be fixing that problem. EDIT: Of course, I know one member of this forum who says KI is the adult park, and CP is the family park. I still don't know how anyone can see that. -
I'll not only give my least favorite, I'll give you my bottom three. 3. Holiday World; some good rides, but employees and procedures can be flat out terrible. 2. Six Flags Magic Mountain; for every good ride there, is an equal or greater disappointment of a ride. 1. Michigan's Adventure Yes, I'm going with a CF park for the top dishonor. Their Corkscrew coaster was the prime example of what was wrong with the park. One train operation, two operators to run the entire coaster (yes, this means one person for checking every seat), and uncleaned up vomit in the line. I only spent a half a day there. Shivering Timbers and Mad Mouse were good, but that's about it.

I took alot of pics today, but here are some of my favorite shots.

I sense some sarcasm... which is well deserved. X is by far the most painful coaster I've ever been on. Makes SoB look tame.

3,000 posts 5 years 2 websites (the merger) I think I have a valid excuse. Anyways, it's looking good. I could never sit down and do that.

So the park today was pretty good crowd wise, didn't have to bust out the ipod video in any lines all day. Of course, there was one thing that stood out to me. Theming all over the park was down. Backlot had all of its theming inoperational today. No fire, no sound effects during the attack scene, nothing. Now that wouldn't have been that big a deal, if basically the same thing happened on a ride that isn't so technologically advance had theming MIA as well. Scooby and the Haunted Mansion had no motion effects working. The only movable thing that worked was the monster chasing Shaggy around in circles. The Shaggy playing the organ was not moving, the skeletons were not moving, not even the "his and hers" ghosts that shake when you shoot their targets did not move, even though the sound effects for shooting their targets played. I really, really hope this is not a sign of things to come. The park doesn't have to put in super themed attractions, but with attractions like Scooby where the theming is not very advanced to begin with, I don't see why nearly all of the effects have to be out of order. Other than the theming issues, excellent day.

Here we go again...

I remember that day. I saw them at Skyline Patio while I was at Tiques.
-
All I can say is it's a Saturday. Duh it's going to be busy.
-
I've ridden it twice and LOVE it. The lighting and sound change last weekend made it a much better ride experience compared to opening weekend for it. Give it some time, it seems they are still adding to it.
-
I haven't seen it closed since opening weekend.

Here's a video of me spinning Holiday World's version of Monster. It happens 4 minutes into the video. NOTE: The first song in this clip has mature language. If you do not want to hear the language, just fast forward to 4 minutes in.
