  1. Uh.... a. if this would work, don't you think Mr. Couch would have already done it? b. if the park couldn't make it on a more normal admission charge, why do you think it could make it with just a couple of bucks for entry? I suspect someone has no idea what the fixed costs of operating even one ride are... You are correct! It was more of a general statement, not specific. Anyways, a guy can dream!
  2. I can't wait to see if I can visit or not! I love the idea of touring an abandoned amusment park! That place should really be opened up as a museum. Place some other memorabillia and maybe even reopen a old ride and you could make some money off that. Just charge a couple of bucks for entry!
  3. Yes, and some parts of the park are still intact as of now, correct? I already emailed him through his contact us section of his Couch's Campers website.
  4. Hmm... I will have to figure out who that someone is! EDIT: It is most likely Jerry Couch, the properties current owner.
  5. Hmm... I just learned from my parents that Americana was my first amumsement park! Can people still walk around the park or any sections of it?? I really would love to walk around it sometime!
  6. Yeah, I'm going to wait untill I am 15. Actually operating games would be kind of a fun thing to do before ride-oping. Most likely I will have to work for half days, due to cross country, but still it will be fun!
  7. Yes, however http://198.234.41.198/w3/webwh.nsf/dd5cab6...1b?OpenDocument (From a .gov site) States the prohibited occupations for 14 and 15 year olds and working at an amusement park in most positions (other than ride-op, warehouse, ect.). I still don't get why KI won't let 14 year-olds work. We have the same working hour restrictions as 15 year olds!
  8. I am kind of hoping it is just Diamondback open. And the reason for that is that that will keep the majority of the non-fanatics away from Diamondback, allowing more rides for me! I actually think it will just be Diamondback open, it's Diamondback Preview Day not King's Island Preview Day.
  9. Idk, however in wanting to save space for a familiar topic, are there any amusment/water parks around here that allow 14 year olds to work? It is legal here to work at amusement facilities at 14.
  10. lol, yeah I am overjoyed too. Already got a countdown on my computer desktop, only 163 Days, 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 15 seconds left!
  11. Well I am just happy the public where I live is always public! Anyways, I can't wait to get over to the park on the 17th!
  12. Thankyou, thankyou I will be here all night! G-Force who just HAD too.
  13. As of now I hold a mouse in my hand looking confusingly at the computer screen..
  14. ^However, I am guessing that is pretty close to what it will end up like.
  15. I was wondering who you guys were. Don might have been a little creeped out about me geekly staring at him for a while next to massacre manor. So, is ACE cool? I think I might join!
  16. I believe Scootzilla said it was amazing yesterday also! Maybe the actors just weren't as into it when you guys went.
  17. Sorry for not going through with this again guys. But I was at KI until 12 last night and I am beat. Good luck to anyone who wants to take up on the opprutunity though!
  18. Sorry for sounding like a Coney noob, I haven't been to Coney before. I was meaning more as in it looks like a bigger investment than coney has been making in the past.
  19. I had a pretty fun first Haunt trip on Saturday. We got there at around 1:45 and we went right to Beast, only a 30 minute wait! After that we got on Delirium, 25 minute wait. We stopped to get something to eat at Festhaus when we saw the first few minutes of Ghouls Gone Wild (Great show, really good work KI) and ate some pizza. We then went to FoF at around 6:00 and got out at 6:45. We waited in the line for Death Row. Once Haunt started it only took 15 minutes to get to the front! It was an amazing haunt. I have never in my life jumped that high! It seemed like the workers were really in to it and in character. The stroble lights were a little heavy but it was still a extremely fun attraction. Then, we headed for Worksite where we had a 20 minute wait. There were two drunk people behind us that made the experience much less enjoyable. They didn't get me as much as Deathrow here but it was still great! Then we headed for Club Blood. Great job on this one! My favorite parts were the very beginning and the guy swinging out at you. By this point we were extremely tired so we headed for Festhaus to watch some more of Ghouls Gone Wild, again a great show. We were still a little tired so we went to a shop or two and I got a DB t-shirt. Then, we headed for The Racer, a 30 minute wait. And, since luck was against me, the empty seat next to me got stuck open. The worker pulled on it for a few minutes, then they got a wrench or something out and it still wouldn't give so we had to evacuate the ride. I am pretty sure it closed after we left also. Then we got a pretzel, did some arcade, and got some candy and headed out. We only got scared by a Roamer once today but he did a great job. Well, that's how my first trip to HH was! It was a great experience! EDIT: I also saw the one and only Don Helbig there giving a VIP tour! I wonder who the VIP tour was for?
  20. Wow, that is much more exciting looking than what I would expect for Coney. That actually looks pretty cool, I'll have to stop by it when it opens!
  21. I don't think it's that much on Sundays however. Plus it takes about half the ride length so it is about equal.
  22. Actually, I just sent him an e-mail about what the "official" record is for most rides on a singular ride at Kings Island.
  23. I am going to be going to KI on Sunday, unless I can't find somebody, for sure. I have decided to ride FoF instead. I am currently putting 113 as the KI record for most rides on a singular ride on one day. Which I am pretty sure is true. Doing this will allow for slight lines and maybe, just maybe, a dew break. Plus I find FoF 20 times more enjoyable and exciting than The Racer. I don't want to spend my 8 hours bored.
  24. Hmm.. my disk for my printer wasn't compatible with vista either. However, you'll find Vista to be quite helpful with that. For my printer (which I had to use a disk to install on XP) I just connected it to my computer and it automatically installed it using internet or something. I really have no idea how it works but that's how I got my non-vista compatiple printer and joystick to work.
  25. Cool! Maybe a "Camping Out and Waiting for Diamondback" Doodle?
