  1. ^Or Haunt props.
  2. That park had those trains before SOB was remodeled in 2007. There's pictures on RCDB dated in 2005 with those trains. https://rcdb.com/967.htm
  3. I usually stay at the Best Western but I might search around for something even cheaper if I can find something.
  4. Most of my friends are die hard CP fans and will take every opportunity comparing CP with KI to not give KI credit when deserved (sans wooden coaster collection).
  5. To all those who think that 'it just got paint so it must be staying' is a good argument for a park keeping a ride, this is a good example of the contrary happening. Just sayin'.
  6. The other thing is I'm not doing MIA and CP on back to back days. I'm giving myself a day to travel from Muskegon to Port Clinton/Sandusky. A big reason for that as well as going with MIA first is pacing because of my medical ailments. CP is a big park which I'm using 2 days to tackle including a day for Fast Laning. I want to work my way up to that plus have some R&R time on the lake. I adore staying in Port Clinton. Its a beautiful town, its only a half hour drive to CP, and the hotels are easier to book.
  7. ^I'm grabbing maps anyways cuz I collect them. Also, I'm doing MIA first so I don't feel underwhelmed by it if I would have done CP first.
  8. ^Could it also be some sort of illusion that might make people feel like they're moving? Or a combination of illusions and movement?
  9. I've been leaning towards Backlot's departure recently. I think it's capacity will start to drag more and more on the park as it can attain more capacity with added rides. I think eventually they'll start to wane on keeping up on the special effects, at least if we use Boo Blasters as a current example. That's a ride that can't afford to lose any sort of charm it has on the public. There's so much you could put in that spot as well, like a flat package with a wild mouse coaster on top. I think Backlot holds that area back. I can see it being a very vibrant part of the park given some TLC, especially with how centered that area is on the park map.
  10. The updated map isn't available on the website yet, either on the park map page or within the education days page. EDIT: I found something interesting while reading through the HS education days packet. When asked on describing the shed, the following question is asked- Describe motions that you experience while in the shed. Thoughts?
  11. ^The social media patrol for KI will be working overtime this season.
  12. I have a pretty good feeling they're going to omit the shed interior on the POV.
  13. I can see it now- being distracted by Mystic Timbers flying overhead only to be taken by complete surprise by a strategic Captain Biscuit bombardment.
  14. BTW, if all goes as planned at MIA and CP (which includes Rougarou as a separate credit from Mantis), my first coaster at Kennywood will be my 80th coaster credit. Currently debating with myself a toss up between T-bolt and Phantom. Also, for one day at CP, I am Fast Laning.
  15. August 3rd ideally. The trip will be from August 1-4 (leave the 1st, Pirates on the 2nd, Kennywood on the 3rd, leave for Cincy on the 4th) I can be flexible-ish in that I can probably wait to buy the Pirates tickets if you need me to be. I would like to do the game before Kennywood. Also, on the off chance I have to solo run Kennywood, do they pair up single riders on T-bolt or do you have to have an even numbered party?
  16. So I'll be booking my 2 trips next month once I get a few more paychecks in. Still comparing hotels in northern Ohio, but Michigan and Pittsburgh are good to go. The Pittsburgh trip is looking pretty good in terms of costs. I'm seeing decent seat prices for Pirates tickets. I'd also appreciate food recommendations for MIA, CP, Pittsburgh and KW.
  17. Anyway to get good discounts on tickets for Kennywood?
  18. First, its Arrow, not Aero. Secondly, all Arrow Dynamics' looping trains are that way. Their suspended trains are somewhat similar, but suspended coasters don't have wonky transitions like Arrow sit down coasters do.
  19. KI's Facebook page just put out a post saying Banshee tested this day in 2014, so I imagine we'll see a test-run on Mr T shortly.
  20. I don't factor in a coaster's 'legacy' or historical impact when I ascertain which coasters I like better than others. I use criteria like g forces, air time, pacing, aesthetics, big moments, and other more tangible things. I don't let others opinion affect mine, but I do use them to try and guess what I may be in for. Often, I'm surprised. Examples- I went to KK not thinking highly of T3 or Thunder Run. Both turned out better than expected (more so Thunder Run). In contrast, I had high expectations for Grizzly at KD and Mean Streak only to come off disappointed with them. My visits to Dollywood and Hershey really helped me in getting away from thinking that stats and public perception make a good ride.
  21. Do they sell death by grilled cheese..er...I mean the doughnut grilled cheese sandwich at KI?
  22. I'll be at preview night!
  23. Also, Thunderbird would like to say hi.
