I've seen a lot of guys in ties in that area for a few days...wonder if a decision was made to put down pavers...I thought all along pavers should run right up to the ride site...maybe they thought the same.
-
I do wish their was one on the "adult" side of the park. One of the most underrated and, probably, overlooked rides (as far as thrill seekers go) in the park.
-
I want a Dinosaurs Alive! T-shirt. KIFan, who, for one reason or another, doesn't always go with the crowd (but bets there will be crowds at Dinosaurs Alive! this summer).
-
That view from I-71 i'snt the best view to see WindSeeker. Heck you can hardly see anything going on at Kings Island that far away. The park did say on Facebook they were going to add a second webcam soon to show the whole construction. Maybe not, but I think it's really neat to see the park like that in real time. That's the view of the park I have on my way there! However, I think that WindSeeker, when it get some height, will be viewable from that angle, if that is indeed Racer's turnaround on the left hand side.

I said it about Diamondback, and I'm going to say it about Dinosaurs Alive: I think that, at this point in time, it's a FANTASTIC addition to the park, and something it really needed. I'm 37, and have no kids, but I'm really looking forward to walking through this thing. I've never seen anything even remotely like it. I would even like to see a refreshment stand/souvenir shop somewhere on the route. **edit** and a restroom!!

Vertical progress of WindSeeker may be viewable at this link: http://www.artimis.org/camera/camera92.php

Now, that's a queue!
-
That article also says that WindSeeker "will pull riders into the air and twirl them around"...doesn't that sound like a hoot!
-
I think a walk-through will be fun, but I'll be a little surprised if that's what it is. This is due to some reasons I've read on this site about why past walking paths at the park have been closed.

I might be the extreme minority, but I'm not really hoping for a new coaster (although I did post earlier I'd like to see a small coaster, and I still would). I'd love to see something new at KI...and this would definitely be new. I didn't grow up going to Kings Island, so what made me so fascinated with the place was how it was full of stuff I'd never experienced before. One thing's for sure, I've never seen a dinosaur exhibit!

In the background, behind the guy holding the "plans", it looks like a marked stake, and, possibly, some forms. I wonder how far along they might be in this project... http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/park/mud/index.cfm

Looks like bars to a cage...that have been dented in...

A small, lightly safari-themed family-style coaster set amongst the trees would make me a happy...camper?

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues
KIfan73 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I was craning my neck too much to be able to notice... -
Elephants love mud.

I wasn't necessarily just meaning the monorail. I think that the whole theme of that area is interesting, and a new jungle-type themed attraction is something that I think would be a great addition to the park.

One thing that excites me is that this font/style Reminds me of this:

Although focusing attention to a 300' tall swinging ride would make for a great distraction...if a distraction was needed/desired!
-
Lots of activity at the WindSeeker site today! http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm

^Although I think that's about as likely as Kings Island getting a version of Cinderella's Castle, I personally would like a ride like you describe!
-
Three photos are now posted...(what's that one thread about you might be a KI fanatic if...)
-
I rode (or slid?) it back in the early '90's. I'm not sure how tall it is, but it felt like a straight free fall for the first several feet. And it felt much taller than it looks....
-
Yeah, DB's entire "passenger" system freaks me out. If it had trains similar to say, Vortex, I would have probably ridden it a lot more by now. However, judging from its popularity, I don't think it's been much of a problem for ridership .
-
...if for no other reason than for it's landscaping...it's a shame that concrete and aluminum have taken the place of wood and foliage...

I haven't been on a ride yet that is that scary while you're doing it... Having said that, there's still some rides that I'm not wild about getting on, even ones I've rode before...the mind is a mysterious thing.
