Where was the Eiffel Tower going to go?

I looked in my old photo albums, but couldn't find any pics, but I'll try to describe it to the best of my memory... When you entered the queue, there were a few full-sized (I believe) NASCAR-sized racecars placed alongside the queue route. There were speakers playing racing sound effects as you walked through. When you got into the queues under the shelter, there were big screens that played a pre-show featuring Kyle Petty. It was in surround sound, and there was another car either suspended or on a platform in between the two sets of queues (again, the best of my memory). There were tons of theming. It was actually pretty exciting. For a time, there was a souvenir stand when you left the queues. I bought a hat from it after my first visit to DoT.

Possibly even more mysterious is Terps' recent usage of diverse fonts! (is he trying to tell us something?)

Absolutely amazing. It's so neat to connect some of the ideas that were incorporated into KI...that we still get to enjoy to this day.

Very interesting information. I made a brief trip there two summers ago (I walked around a bit, just as the rides were opening), as I was meeting a group at KI later on. I hope to come back again soon, if just to browse around. It was wild to think of all the history in that place.

Terp, you are correct. I recently got my Master's degree in teaching, and one of the central concepts of the whole program was...listening and questioning. How can someone learn from being asked a question (giggle)?

I know this may be a big request, but can anyone describe each of the attractions and/or buildings in the lower pic??

DoT @ Action Theatre was an amazing attraction from the time you entered the queue until you left it.

They were both maps...the '95 one is really detailed...The '96 is also a map, I remember getting it at the park.

I have a '95 brochure that doesn't even mention or show Drop Zone or Xtreme Skyflyer; In the '96 brochure I have, it's listed as XS.

How great would it be this time of year to load a motor home full of fanny-pack wearing amusement park "guests" and lay on the horn at the entry gate until someone came out?

If for no other reason, thanks for posting a current photo of the park! Ah, it's so hard to imagine it being warm and seeing it packed full of people!

I guess that I read these a little while back, but forgot to comment! I'm just in awe. I hope to make it to some Florida theme parks in the near future. And, if you ever get to meet Mr. Avatar in person, he is just as nice as he seems in his posts.

I'm really impressed. I tweeted to Kings Island that they should show videos from the off-season, and there it is! That really made my day.

Even though it may seem like forever away to some, the park has a truckload of work to finish in 116 days.

They do. ...and a birdie told me that the web cams would be up sometime soon. When? I don't know. This is great news! Thank You. I don't think they realize the withdrawals some of us are going through this winter. I actually have paused my DVR when the morning traffic reports show the 71/Mason traffic cam where you can barely see KI in the distance. I know it's kinda sad, but it keeps me out of the pool halls. Snowman, at least I know I am not the only one who does this stuff Wow, that is sad... (here's a link to check it out...)

Who are you calling paranoid? I don't think that when two people disagree about something one of them has to be paranoid, or a conspiracy theorist. As a matter of fact, I have been visiting Action Theatre since it opened, but no so much in the last few years, and I think it would be a shame to see it close.
