  1. Some may be surprised at the MPGs of the newer full size trucks. I am seeing much better mileage than my four previous considerably smaller/smaller engined vehicles. You can't always judge a book by its cover!!
  2. Ok, which KIC member was at the hotel with the Speedo ??!! j/k...Great TR, thanks for sharing!!
  3. Great pics, but I really loved the two of KI construction...awesome!!
  4. If there is another KIC event at the park, I think a tour of this fountain is definitely in order.

  6. On Monday of this week, I noticed FoF was to the edge of the outside queue, DB was to the beginning of the queue with no SRL, Racer was down the ramp to the first landing of the queue, FD was a walk on or one train wait (yay! still love that ride)...VF was actually quite crowded...hope this helps.
  7. Thanks for the comments! Thanks to DA! and WindSeeker, I was able to take some new and unique shots. I just hope to post another TR very soon...
  8. I found this to be an odd statement when I watched it. If you look at the park brochures from the opening year(s), nearly everything in the park was either an outside company doing business, or sponsoring ("presented by...") a park attraction.
  9. A couple things I saw yesterday that I haven't noticed before... Some abandoned window... Gray lookout tower...
  10. Ahhh....Finally here!! Never noticed this before... What's this??
  11. I rode FD today, and thought the paint job looked really good. Also, I'm no expert, but the trains almost looked brand new!
  12. An entire school year. Fall. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Winter, snow storms, Easter, and lots of rain. I can't believe all of this has came and went since I've been to KI last year. This is a pretty quick TR as I left by 2 pm. I got there in time for the tail end of ERT, and I took advantage of it and got a ride on Beast...and if I'm right from seeing his pics on here, I believe that our own TG93 was working. A ride on The Beast is the only way to get the season started, IMHO. I also got to take in DA! and the accompanying 3D movie, both of which I enjoyed but I probably won't take it in again, unless I'm with someone that wants to go through it, in which case I'd gladly tour it again. By noon or so the lines were pretty long on everything, including Racer. I got two rides in on FD, on ride on VF, and had to go up in the Tower to check things out. Before I left, I took an advantage of a 75% off sale they were having in the shop by the exit (I can't believe I can't remember the name of it)... Overall I had a very enjoyable visit, and hope to return soon. I will post some pics later on tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
  13. I was at the park today, and was checking out Dinosaurs Alive for the first time when I noticed this road off to the side... and in a clearing through the trees, I could see this Caterpillar chewing up and spitting out foliage... I was told it had to do with the dinosaur that burnt up...
  14. Thanks for sharing! I love seeing/reading things about the years of the CI/KI transition.
  15. I've only been there once, actually just before I rode DB the first time, and the service was outstanding. Kind of a hidden gem at Kings Island, for those that partake in that kind of thing.
  16. Great topic, and great responses so far!! My parents took me when I was 2 in 1975. My next trip was with my aunt's family in 1992. That pretty much hooked me. I've been back every year save for one or two since then!
  17. I've never had much of a desire for a tattoo, but I have to admit you have a really good idea!
  18. Two tips for The Beast (and any coaster, really): 1) Sit in the middle (not on a wheel) row; 2) I push really hard onto the floor of the car with my feet. This way the upward force of the train is directed into your legs some, where it can be absorbed, rather than just up through your rear end into your spine. I've found it's just a good way to spread the forces around, rather than just letting my back do it all (you would naturally be able to do this if you were standing up).
  19. I think you might have just written a summertime country song! (and that's not a put down, I like country!)

  21. Why was Lion Country Safari an upcharge attraction?
  22. Thanks! There's definitely been a lack of "interpretation" around here lately! Good to hear from you!
  23. Sounds like a great event. Any idea of what year the time capsule was buried?
  24. Great TR thanks for posting. I always try to avoid crowds, but when Ive been at the park at very crowded times, it's always fun.
