  1. ....which is better than taking a toll on your skull, which I think is the idea behind that design.
  2. Wow, a Soak City construction tour sure would be fun! (hint, hint)
  3. In my experience, the crowds can be a little lighter early in October. However, normally, on a Saturday, it goes from crowded to insanely crowded by nighttime when the fog really starts to flow.
  4. Are we talking about the racing slides that are already in the water park? I hope they're not removing them!
  5. I always like when they're used to be cars around the park...I'll actually like seeing that again.
  6. I just bought one over the summer to wear to the park...nice shirt.
  7. I was on there the other day, and thought it was a format that I hadn't noticed before.
  8. Kind of funny. I rode the "lazy river" for the first time ever this summer (just never took the time to do it before) and loved it; and I thought that the wave pool was too packed, and that the water park needed expanded...
  9. I have to say that WindSeeker in operation provides quite a striking visual. I have yet to ride it, but during my few visits to KI this summer, I have been pretty surprised at how interesting it is to watch, especially when it reaches the top. It almost doesn't look real, almost like a CGI movie...
  10. Oh yeah, the freezing weather goes without mentioning... I still would like to see KI to a very low key winter/holiday event...just open the shops, starbucks, maybe put a show in Festhaus...nothing extravagant, just a way to visit the park during the offseason.
  11. Does anyone else dislike the fact that the park is now closed? Even though I wouldn't necessarily visit today, for some reason, I always like it when I know Kings Island is open. This is the first day it's been closed since mid-May. Kind of a bummer...
  12. Darn, I thought this was a thread about putting a coaster on International Street.
  13. It's a shame how underrated the landscaping/views are at Kings Island. You hear so much about the rides, but I don't think most people realize it's worth a trip to walk through even if you aren't a ride person.
  14. I haven't been to the park on a Sunday in years. The weather forecast looked great, so I took off for the day. It was a great day to be at the park. Things started to get crowded by early afternoon, but by then, I had ridden Beast, BLSC, Vortex, FoF, Racer, Flight Deck, VF, and Flying Ace Aerial Chase (fun ride!), and had lunch. This will most likely be my last "regular season" trip the park, but who knows...
  15. It's been discussed on here about how bad Cedar Fair wanted Kings Island. Could we begin to see the results of that in the near future?
  16. I visited the park last Sunday, and had a great time (I'm going to post a PTR soon). I just want to remind everybody that is thinking that summer is over...it's not!! Kings Island is still open, the weather is great and get to the park if you can!! Just think what you would give for a day like now come January or February!
  17. I have never been to CP to ride Maverick. From what I gather, it doesn't sound like anything at KI. If that's the case, that's at the top of my wish list for Kings Island.

  19. That's too bad. I rode it yesterday, and it was working great!
  20. For me, it's probably actually Top Gun/Flight Deck. Let's see, it opened in '93, and I've probably averaged two trips a year to the park since then. So, I've probably ridden it about 40 or 50 times!
  21. I'd imagine they'd be out of business at that point!
  22. (bold added for emphasis) Would the ball park be able to offer $5 tickets if other people didn't buy the $250 ones?
  23. Just having an admission ticket to Kings Island (or the Reds) is something very extravagant to a large part of the population. I'm not seeing that as any more "wrong" than Fast Lane bracelets or box seat tickets.
  24. That's if you buy six or more....
  25. On the topic of prices...I am always truly amazed that an operation the size of Kings Island is able to continue to operate...and turn a profit. The thoughts of what it must take, on a daily basis, to keep it going absolutely boggle my mind. I also don't think that if the infrastructures of the park weren't built in the '70's, there could not be a Kings Island amusement park...even at quadruple the prices they're charging for everything now.
